View model base has an ObservableCollection of tabs type ViewModelBase. The Tab Control itself is binding fine to these, displaying appropriate view models. I have 2 problems however, I want a "NotepadView" (Of type viewmodelbase) to be replicated numerous times (one view many view models).
At the minute, I have 4 views (NotePadViewModelx where x is 1-4) with corresponding viewmodels, this is because each view had the same text per tab. Now I have individual views per tab.
When I type into tab 1 and switch to tab 2, I lose what I typed in tab one when I click back.
I added the colLocation to dgv."descirption" contains Unicode characters. I can see the comboBox correctly and choose the item.The problem is when the comboBox lost the focus, the value is changed to first item of the comboBox.
Updated:I found out that the ComboBox doesn't change the data when the DisplayMember is in English characters. It changes only when the DisplayMember is in Unicode chracter.

when the user clicks on the add button another form launches, which enables the user to add student info such as name, address, course, start date and end date, this information is then written to class when the ok button on that form is clicked, and then displays the data on the initial form in data grid. the user can add multiple entries and they are all displayed on the intial form and a the data grid is populatedwhen any of the rows in the displayed grid is selected, and the update button is clicked then the same form launches as the previous one and but this time its in the update mode and pre populates the form with the inital values.
I have two dropdownlist, one is State and one is City. When a State is selected, the City dropdownlist becomes populated. At that point you can select a city, however if you select a city and go back and select a different state, the city dropdownlist is populated by the cities for both states. How do I get it clear the cities for the first state?

I used a class MyList and with the Help of this MyList the combo box named cboCity was filled with City Code(like 1001,1002,etc..) as Value member and City Name (like Canada,California etc...) as display member.

The value members 1001,1002,1003,1004 get inserted as per cbocity(combo box)display name selection , into the database and during the retrieval of the record the value member is obtained and based on that for eg:when i get 1001 the selected item should be Canada.I tried many ways while fetching the record and set the selected item but all fails .

I am developing a Windows application using VB.NET. I have a datagrid control bound to a dataset which is populated from an Access database. When a user using my application clicks on a row in the grid, a triangle appears in a column on the left of the grid indicating the selected row. However, if the user does nothing, after several minutes, the selected row changes to the first row in the grid and the triangle indicating the selected row moves to the first row.

I'm having some difficulty with a sorted & grouped listbox in WPF vb.net 3.5 that has an items source bound to an ObservableCollection.
What I want to be able to do is to retrieve a piece of data from the ObservableCollection items source depending on what item in the listbox the user has selected.I've almost got it working but because the listbox is sorted it does not match the index of the items source.

Ok, so I have a listview on one form, and when a button is pressed it opens up a new form with the contents of the selected listview item and it's subitems in a series of textboxes. The user can then change the data in the textboxes and either press save to make the changes or cancel to close the window. What command would I use to change the selected listview item and subitems to whatever is in the boxes?

I have a window which has 8 items in a listview along with 2 radio buttons below the listview. The user is able to select one or more selections in the listview and turn the selection on or off with the radio buttons(live, prior to hitting the submit button), my question is how do I tell which selection was changed? I was going to put the one or more selections into a string/array and use that later for some messages once the user hits the submit button. I can almost think of it but can't quite get there, i'll be using an if/else with the .selected option in listview items but am not sure how to tell if the user, say,goes back and changes the option from On to Off(Off originally)to remove that option from the array.
When I have a listbox full of items and scrolled such that topindex is not zero/first item, changing the value of the top item causes the list to scroll up by one.I can compensate for that easily by changing topindex after the listbox1.items(index)=value statement, but does anyone know why it happens or if there is some property I'm overlooking?
I am making a password program that remembers what the password is for and what the password is. I have two listboxes: 'listbox1' for what the password is for, and 'listbox2' for the password. I also have a remove button. I would like it so when you press the remove button, the selected item in listbox1 is removed and the password in listbox2 is also deleted. The passwords are stored in two settings: what, and pw. The items that will be deleted will have the same value. By value i mean they will be the same number item. im trying to add a text changed method to my listview item. all the items are dynamicly created so i would think id have to use an addhandler listviewitem1.textChanged addressof listviewitems_click where listviewitems_click is the generic sub to handle the click. but the listviewitem control doesnt have a text changed event, but you can rename the text in the control anyway.
I have two data tables. the second related to the first. Using a datagridview for the first table I am able to enter and save data ok. if I run the code twice in a row the data is still there. When I edit the data in the related table in it's own datagirdview the data is there and displays correctly, but on running the code a second time the related data is lost. I'm using a textbox to supply a filter for the datasouce which is bound to a listbox. It works (mostly) with a few exceptions, one being i was to restrict the height of the listbox to the number of entries (upto a maximum number), so a bit like a combobox (which in effect is what I'm writing). One of the problems is when the number of entries changes there does not seem to be an event raised, although the OnDrawItem is called for the items to be displayed (the displayed ones!) Is there anyway to find out (in a derived listbox) when the number of entries has changed in the datasource?
