Create A 4000x4000 Size Bitmap?
Feb 7, 2010
I've been reading a bunch of tutorials on Drawing in VB.Net, and still am reading them, but I have a question which I know I'll need to ask sooner or later:
How can I create a 4000x4000 size bitmap, and then draw a pixel at a certain coordinate on a bitmap? Like say I want to draw a BLUE pixel at coordinate X = 3000 Y = 3450. How could I do that?

In my user control you can load an image into a Bitmap type, it then displays the image onto the usercontrol. However, it works fine with .gif format images, but when i use .png it seems to make the image bigger than what it is.
Private imgPicture As Bitmap
Public Property Picture As Bitmap

I'm using the following code to create a bitmap from a webbrowsercontrol that is located just off-screen (not visible to user, but control is "visible") Does the CopyFromScreen method work for something that is not ACTUALLY displayed on the screen?
I checked the values of p.X and p.Y at runtime and they are correct, but my "img" does not reflect the portion of the "Screen" i'm trying to capture.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong here, or if CopyFromScreen will still work if my control is outside of the bounds of the primaryscreen.
vb.net
'This is set at FormShown time
'Position the browser off-screen
Dim wbPoint As New Point(Me.Location.X + Me.Width - 50, Me.Location.Y)

I'm trying to create an image for printing and I know what the dimensions of the image (Bitmap object) is supposed to be in Inches but the Bitmap uses pixels so how would I define it's size to the number of pixels per inch?I do know what the printer's DPI is too, I'm able to get the horizontal DPI and the vertical DPI (which is 99.99% of the time always the same)

I have some low detail images I'm rendering to the screen. I'm using a bitmap as a buffer. Is there a way to re-size the bitmap (using "Nearest Neighbor") in .net? I'm using VB.net so all .net solutions are acceptable.

I want to know how I could create a bitmap from scratch with no images to start with.(I would say need. but than you would think this was for some sort of school project and it's not.)Basically, what I have is an image which is perfectly square in shape and has a black border with a black x going through it, what is not black is white. What I'm looking to know is how to take that small image (50x50 pixels) and make an image based upon those by placing them in X Rows of X amount. I'll make a couple example to show what I mean.(X's represent the 50x50 image.

I am trying to convert from a text file to an image(bitmap) file.
For example, test.txt: 01 23 34 56 78 90
[Code]....
The first step will be reading the data, so I created some VB codes:
Dim openFileDialog1 As New OpenFileDialog()
openFileDialog1.Filter = "Text Files (*.txt)|*.txt"
openFileDialog1.Title = "Select a text File"
' Show the Dialog.
' If the user clicked OK in the dialog and ' an image file was selected, open it.
If openFileDialog1.ShowDialog() = DialogResult.OK Then
' Open file.
[Code]...
The second step will be converting the data to some data format which can be used in a bitmap image. This part is making me confused. Some codes I made is listed below:

Here is a short program to demonstrate my question. I just want to extraxct a rectangle bitmap from a big bitmap.Code as follows:
Private
Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender
As System.Object,[code]....
Execution stops when hitting the Dim cloneBitmap statement, which should have created a bitmap out of the rectangle cut out.The message is:
"MissingMemeberException was unhandled.
No default member was found for type 'bitmap"
I just don't get it. Seems that the method Clone(Rectangle, PixelFormat was not found.

Im using Visual Basic 2005."Devise a program to create a multiplication square for any size the user enters, up to a maximum of 10x10. The program should output something like this for a 4x4 square.
1234
2468
36912
481216
You will need to make use of the RichTextBox, along with concatenation to make the output format correctly within the box.When you have created the working program, document it properly by printing out and annotating the code to explain how it works."

Trying to create a program that accepts a square array size 4 by 4. Then it should print the totals of the rows and columns. I started with a form and made text boxes and created a print button. I made it so that numbers can be input into the boxes. When hitting the print button, it should print the totals of what was input, however, it isn't doing that. Is there a different way to write the array code so that it will print it? Should i not have text boxes but rather have labels with fixed numbers set in them?

I am trying to create and initialize an array of structures of a fixed size. Each struct will be populated when a button is clicked. Here is an example of my struct:
public structure buttonStruct
dim x() as Boolean
dim y() as Boolean
[code]....
In my form_load function I am declaring the array of structs and:
Dim BtnStruct(15) As ButtonStruct
BtnStruct(0).Initialize()
[code]....
Whenever a specific button is clicked, I am trying to collect data and store it in the respective struct and so for example, if button 1 is clicked then I will store the data associated with button 1 into BtnStruct(0). The position of the button is stored in a public variable called BtnNum. If I attempt to store information in the struct inside another function as follows, I receive an error
BtnStruct(BtnNum).x(pos - 1) = temp "btnstruct is not declared. it may not be inaccessible due to its protection level"

Now all went well about from using the structure correctly. The working of the structure was perfect. How ever i missed Two important issues. The structure needed a fixed size of 10 items (9 in programming terms starting from 0) And also out of the 5 items allowed to be chosen as one of the member types for the structure a limit of 5 items of that particular type.

Create an application that will predict the approximate size of a population organisms. The user should select or enter the starting number of organisms in a combo box, enter the average daily population increase (as a percentage) in a text box and select or enter the number of days the organisms will be left to multiply in another combo box. For example, assume the user enters the following values:
Starting number of organisms: 2
Average daily increase: 30%
Number of days to multiply 10
The application should display th following table of data.Day Approximate Population 1 2 2 2.6 (table should list values up to 10 days)
Be sure to add appropriate ToolTips for each control on the form.Input validation: Do not accept a number less than 2 for the starting size of the population. Do not accept a negative number for the average daily population increase. Do not accept a number less than 1 for the number of days the organisms will multiply.
