Type 'System.drawing.bitmap' Is Not Defined

Jun 15, 2010

I', working on a program where there are several projects within a solution. The solution contains a forms application, a couple of class libraries, and a public interface.I'm running into a strange problem where I can access the system.drawing.bitmap namespace from the main form and from one of the class libraries, but when I try to access it from the other class library or the interface, it tells me it is not defined. I've tried importing it, and calling it directly with no luck.

Change Image In Windows Forms App. System.Drawing.Bitmap In A PictureBox

Jul 19, 2010

I have a VB.NET Windows Forms app with a logo image on the form as a System.Drawing.Bitmap inside a PictureBox.I used the Visual Studio Designer to add the logo .bmp image so I don't currently have any VB code doing anything with it.I'd like to make the current logo a clickable object/button so when I click on it a file browser dialog opens and I can select a new image to replace the current image. The current image is a local resource and is set in a PictureBox as a System.Drawing.Bitmap.How would I replace that System.Drawing.Bitmap with a file selected from the file browser dialog?

Bitmap Drawing #2 - Make Something Identical To A Map-editor For A Game?

Feb 7, 2010

I don't want to spam the forum with questions, so I'll just ask a two questions I can't figure out in one thread since they all involve a specific task I'm trying to create I'm trying to make something identical to a map-editor for a game. Right now I'm just learning the basic functions of drawing on bitmaps. I'll show you what I got right now and then tell you what I'm trying to achieve:

Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim mySource As Rectangle
Dim myDestination As Rectangle

[code]....

So my map size is 1000x1000. When I press the button, it creates the map, draws 250 tiles(pixels) in the top left corner of the map, and then displays it on my form. Now to my questions: How can I zoom into certain X, Y positions on the map? After I zoom into the map, how can I call a function when I highlight a tile(pixel), and then another function when I click on a certain tile(pixel)?

Extraxct A Rectangle Bitmap From A Big Bitmap?

Here is a short program to demonstrate my question. I just want to extraxct a rectangle bitmap from a big bitmap.Code as follows:

Private
Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender
As System.Object,[code]....

Execution stops when hitting the Dim cloneBitmap statement, which should have created a bitmap out of the rectangle cut out.The message is:

"MissingMemeberException was unhandled.

No default member was found for type 'bitmap"

I just don't get it. Seems that the method Clone(Rectangle, PixelFormat was not found.

Floodfill With A System.Drawing.Graphics() Object

Jun 7, 2011

I need to make a basic drawing program in VB that can do three things:

"Draw" with a brush of some sort
Clear the screen
Perform a flood-fill (paintbucket action)

I decided to do the first two tasks first, and got them to work, but the third task completely eludes me. Every way I try seems to pile on exceptions, and every flood-fill algorithm I find seems to require a bitmap, rather than a Graphics() object. Is there any way to accomplish a flood-fill using a Graphics object, or must I restart the project using a bitmap?
