View 8 Repliesi recently posted a thread about the same project, but decided this was a more specific question, so i decided to open a new thread My question regards the graphics class in visual basic 2008. Ive searched the internet low and high for an answer to this, but i cannot find anything! I am attempting to 'shoot' a circle drawn on the form when the user presses the 'r' key. if a string property is set to right, the graphic should be drawn, then updated to different x coordinates based on an interval. if the property is 'up' or 'down' then the y coordinate of the graphic should be changed based on another interval. Now i cannot use one preset timer, because i would be able to shoot only one bullet at a time, which would not work!
Does anyone know how i can either create an array of graphics(bullets) and add to the list every time the user presses r, then using one preset timer, update them all, or simple create a timer every time a bullet is created, then update the bullet position with its own timer.
Im trying to create a animation of wave from a wave equation but the program only create a vertical line at the left side of my panel this is my code at the moment

I am starting a butterfly program and having an issue and really just barely have it started and would like to get some helpfeedback on how to do this. The following is the instructions and I will make a second post on what code I have so far...The butterfly is going to be moving from side to side in a slightly upward assent when the animation starts. You need to build a set of controls that allow the user to control whether the butterfly ascends (up) or descends (down) and also allows the direction of the butterfly to change (left or right). The best way to implement this feature is through the use of keystrokes that when pressed act to control the direction of the butterfly. Whether you implement this feature through keystrokes or controls, make sure that the feature is communicated to the user.
Butterflies fly by opening and closing their wings. So it is expected that the butterfly will alternate between opened and closed as it wings its way across the form. If the butterfly is moving right, make certain the butterfly graphic displayed shows the butterfly as moving toward the right. If the butterfly is moving to the left, make certain the butterfly graphic displayed shows the butterfly as moving toward the left.
If the butterfly reaches the top of the form in its assent, it should wrap around to the bottom of the form. If the butterfly reaches the bottom of the form in its descent, it should wrap around to the top of the form. If the butterfly reaches the left edge of the form, it should begin flying toward the right side of the form. If the butterfly reaches the right edge of the form, it should begin flying toward the left side of the form. If the user changes the direction of the butterfly, insure that the correct graphics are used in relation to the direction of the butterfly and that the butterfly moves in the indicated direction. Please note that when the butterfly reaches the edge of the form, the butterfly must change direction regardless of any user input.
I'm trying to create a control array in VB2005. As I've said in other questions, I've been working in VB5 for a good while but I'm new to VB2005. I know how to set the array up in VB5 but it doesn't work in VB2005. I tried some code that someone told me about, but it's not working. I have several books on programming VB2005 but
Here's my code as it stands now:
Public
Class frmMain
Public lblFasting(30)

View 1 RepliesI have to prepare about 125 or 150 Loading Slips for various Mines to move carting to our various Factory daily into Windows Form of ERP System.
Just like here: Date:18-12-2011, Requirement No.001/11-12, Mines No.OP-128, In Charge Name: Karsanji Plot=0,Satta=0,Dump=6, Transporter:Ghanshyam Roadlines Destination:Madhapar Here Some Button to generate/modify records: Add,Edit,Save,Delete,Previous,Next, etc If I distribute 15 trucks for Ghanshyam Roadlines to move carting from OP-128 to Madhapar then I will have to entry 15 times into Windows Form of ERP System for creation loading slips numbers from 1 to 15. Here all my data to input 15 times into ERP is same, so why is it not possible to create multiple reports with single entry form?
Im making this "for" loop to create a animation of 4 pictures. But when i run... i just get a still frame, when i want it to loop threw each picture at 250 intervals in between images. Im not sure im using the timers correctly.Obviously i wouldn't ask and expect someone to do it for me so here's my code so far.

I now trying to create a replay button for my moving pictures. So that i can just click the replay button and replay the moving action instead of choosing which picture to move and click play.

I have a form with a data connection to my access database that shows my music collection, Artist, title, year, chart position, media location & filename. It is set to show only artist & title I have a list box that i can manually load files into to create a wmp playlist i would like to be able to do one or both of the following:

I'm trying to create a small game in VB2010. The gameplay is as follows:
civilians would walk/stand in a room/street and suddenly an evil character would pop from the ground/wall. This evil character would suddenly vanishes too. So, the player has to shoot it to kill the character. The evil character, civilians, etc. would be random. Also, there would be sound effects too. That is the popping up of the evil character, it's voice, the civilians voice, etc. I'm trying to make it as simple as possible but without degrading the quality of the game play. I think, I could somewhat create the graphics for the characters, scenes, etc. and can get the sound effects recorded.
So, the difficult part is,[ ] how could I make it a smoother for playing the game ?
[ ] what would be the best way to do animations ?
[ ] Creating a GIF and placing it in the picturebox and moving it ?
[x]how to play the music in background and at the same time play sound effects on certain instance ?

I am looking for a nice way to display some help messages in my application and I was looking to have the user click a button. This would then trigger a area at the top to grow and show the help section. The only problem is i am not sure how to acomplish this.
View 1 RepliesCurrently, working on my chess program, I am trying to show a bunch of chess variants in a picture box but i have come to a forked road of either making all the images collectively into a Gif animation using fireworks, or using the timer to shift them one by one. The following code does not work and i am seeking help for a alternative code:

I have a button named "b", which background I want to change from black to white, but it doesn't work.

(non-coding request)Okay, I have my client, my server, and my map editor...a 2d online game, and yes it's written in VB.NET.I have had a lot of trouble finding anything to do with adding an animation layer something that will flash with a timer to appear as if something like fire is animated. I have a lot done so far and I kinda want to stick with VB.NET working with this.
I'm not really looking for code here, but maybe an idea of "how" an animation layer plays into a map editor and client...specifically what is needed.Running this through my head I believe I am going to need a timer on both the map editor and client, showing and hiding the animation layer...but I don't think it is that easy, and am hoping someone here has an idea of the logic of how this works. I'm almost certain that the timer doesn't go on the server to control this, but am probably wrong.
i need to make an animated intro of my project, i mean that when my project executes so first a welcome screen executed then project will load, so please assist me that i am using SWISH software to make such animation, so can i add swish animation in vb.net? if not so which software is useful for this except flash?

View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create an animation with 5 picture boxes (labeled picturebox0 - picturebox4) but I have a specific order I want them to display. I made 5 picture boxes, added images to them, and stack them on top of each other.
I want the order to show this: picturebox 0, 1, 4, 3, 2, 4, 2, 3, 1, 3... etc
The code I have using if-else statements which would work if I wanted to repeat the same display pattern but I need to manually right the pattern... I have at timer set to change the pictures every 2.5 seconds.
Code:
Private Sub Timer3_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer3.Tick
System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(1000)

Doing the Christmas animation. I have gotten a nice HID set up to recieve data from VB6 and the computer, but I have a slight problem: I cannot seem to write what is necessary to send my data to the USB serial conversion device. I have tried send, write, open, and nothing seems to work.
Can anyone tell me what I need to do to send an 8 bit data packet to the Serial Converter so my shift register can see the data and put it in the correct output line?
I am looking for some info to do some animation. Fairly simple stuff like dealing and flipping over playing cards, tumbling dice and such. I normally work with logic and data and do not know what would be the best approach to do a good looking animation like these. Does anyone know of some good sources on the net or even better some sample code to do this sort of thing or get me started.
View 14 RepliesI'm making this rubik's cube program, and I wanted to make a 3d animation of the cube doing the moves, and I figured the best option for that was using the XNA extension. However, doing that brings up a problem. I want to have lots of different options in the Mdi parent form that will interact with the moving 3d cube. The problem with this and using XNA is I can't use both the normal form and the XNA game in the same project. How would I go about having the 2 different projects interact? Just like a txt file or something?

Here is my code :
Private Sub Form1_MouseMove(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.MouseEventArgs) Handles MyBase.MouseMove
Do While YPos <> e.Y 'if mouse position is different from rocket position, move it

I want to ask, how i can make animation only with 1 images, inside there are like few different images. I seen this in few games, and i want to try it. I think there should by picturebox and it should scroll my animation right with timer, by few pixels. Image example: [URL]
