I have a project to do for one of my classes that i need help on. Its and extra credit so im left on my own. Project Create a program to allow a student to create there own schedule. what i am trying to do is create a checkedlistbox for the student to check classes they are taking, and need something else to pop up or to show in another box or listbox the classes they can take for the next quarter. I know it has to do with if then statements but i dont know how to write basically:"if (class is checked in checkedlistbox) then ( these are the classes you can take)".

How can I edit the time on my form. I have a one tabpage Schedule on which I want to set time according to user's choice. (I know how to display current time). If current time is 5.50.55 PM then user can set anything for eg. 6.45.12 AM according to he want to schedule.

View 2 RepliesI have never used table layout, and not sure if it the best way to go.Here is my objective. I need to create a Schedule Viewer, pretty much a table. The columns would be "Station Names", Station1, Station2, etc. And the Rows would be time of day. At the intersect of the row and column would either be OPEN of the time for that station is open, or the last name of the user who has that stationed booked.I have all of this data in my database. I just need to display it. I don't think I can use a traditional datagrid because the columns are data too.
I also need to build this grid programmable, because every client will have a different amount of stations and different times available.
I would like to have an option in my vb.net application so the user could configure it to run silently in Task Schedule (Once a Day/Week/Month).
View 10 RepliesAssuming I have a list of shifts for an event (in the format start date/time, end date/time) - is there some sort of algorithm I could use to create a generalized summary of the schedule? It is quite common for most of the shifts to fall into some sort of common recurrence pattern (ie. Mondays from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, Tuesdays from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm, etc). However, there can (and will be) exceptions to this rule (eg. one of the shifts fell on a holiday and was rescheduled for the next day). It would be fine to exclude those from my "summary", as I'm looking to provide a more general answer of when does this event usually occur.
I guess I'm looking for some sort of statistical method to determine the day and time occurences and create a description based on the most frequent occurences found in the list. Is there some sort of general algorithm for something like this? Has anyone created something similar?
Ideally I'm looking for a solution in C# or VB.NET, but don't mind porting from any other language.
I am trying to create a custom control using vb.net.I have added a image to the user control and the problem I am having is that when I resize the image, the image seems to move as well.I want to be able to resize the user control height without moving the image on the user control.
everytime I resize the user control, it seems to move the image on it as well.Is there a way of leaving the image where it is without moving it as the user control moves?
I've searched until my eyes and fingers feel as if they are going to bleed. I cannot come up with the answers I'm looking for. I want to essentially create an inventory system without using a database (part of why the eyes are bleeding, keep getting directed on side tangents), that is fed by the user. IE, User enters a name of a product, it is added in to an array. As a designer I will not know the exact number of elements to be held within the array. The user will enter their chosen item in to a text box. So I'm looking for a way to take the value in the text box and add it to the array. I believe I would use the reDIM function to do this, but beyond that I've got nothing. I'm unsure of how to reference the value stored in a text box.

Then I built the test control and tried to added it to the Toolbox. When I did this--i.e., browsed to the dll and double-clicked it, I got the errror message:
"There are no components in ... that can be placed in the toolbox."
Is it even possible to add a User Control to the Toolbox without compile-time components?
I have a form, with lables and textboxes added at runtime. The labels and textboxes are added properly on form load and display as expected. The form allows tabing into each of the textboxes, but the textbox does not allow user input.

View 10 RepliesI am trying to make a small control that has a picturebox and a few labels that can be dragged on the form it is placed on. The control was easy, and I can drag it fine when the mouse is down on the control, where there are no other controls, like not over the picturebox or labels.
When i try to click and drag the user-control and the mouse is on the picture box or labels of the control the mouse down event is not detected. I am hoping someone can tell me how to pass the mouse-down event from the controls on the user-control so the form I place it on detects the mouse down even no matter where on the control i click.
My app has text boxes to accept input from user to questions shown on labels. When the user input is valid, a literal is added to a string incorporating the user input. If the user doesn't input anything or if user inputs "no" or "None" I want the literal and the user input to not add to my string. Make any sense? See my code below:

I need to define some roles in my program with defined permissions. Let's say the administrator can have access only to certain features. The officer in charge to certain features and the user as well. for example, I have several group boxes and the user can access one of it only. So how i do manage these permissions? What I want do is have the roles already with the defined permissions. When I create the user and assign the role, the user should get the permission automatically.

To create the profile I'm trying to use Process.start to launch a process as the newly created user. I'm using ASP.net 4.0 VB,I am using a session variable to add a user entered code into the url of each page. I can get the code to show up at the end of the page's URL that my textbox is on, but what do I add to every page to make sure that the session stays at the end of every URL that person visits during their session?
