Mar 16, 2010I know how to create shortcuts on desktop and program files but i want to make an option with checkboxes...so that you can select if you want those two shortcuts or if you don't them.I've tried this with checkboxes (in User Interface), i've set checkboxes properties and changed "User's desktop" and "User's Start Menu" conditions (in File System). "CHECKBOXA1" for desktop shortcut, "CHECKBOXA2" for start menu shortcut...but it doesn't work... both icons are visible every time.

My product is composed by a lot of projects and each of them generates an exe file with its images, help, xml , database etc. A main exe calls a sub exe for the work it has to do passing appropriate parameters. I think is not suitable to use a click-once feature and I have looked for the deployment wizard but I didn�t found a complete documentation and moreover some example step by step.where can I find that documentation, tutorial and example ? The project is created in Visual Studio 2008 with .Net framework 3.5; If this application runs in a machine which has atleast Dot Net 2.0 installs, it works fine. but the system without framework 2.0 throws an error "The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)"

Feb 8, 2010I have developed a windows forms desktop application using vb.net 2005. It is installed on client computers using a setup package.
One of the clients wants to redistribute the setup package to other users.
He wants to provide the users with an initialization file containing the database server name which they will be using, so that it is available when the application is installed. They are apparently incapable of physically typing in a server name themselves after installing the application.
Is there any way I can include a separate file with the setup package which the application can find after it has been installed?

The application, and the installer both work fine on my development machine.The installer works fine on other machines, but when I run my application it immediately crashes and dies without telling me anything useful. Oct 20, 2011Is there a way to make a setup package on VB 2010 that will check prerequisite addons on clients PC?
The setup will check if MS Access 2010 Engine and Crystal Reports Runtime 2010 is installed. If the installer detected its already installed it will just install the application.
If one or both prerequisite is not found the installer will install the addon automatically.

In order to better support problems with this application is has been suggested in the past to uninstall it and do a fresh re-install. However, in investigation it was determined that the uninstall does not consider all installed objects and does not uninstall the CD install.Can the uninstall functionality be modified to catch the other instances of this application and also uninstall them?

Apr 14, 2011I created a simple VB application in Visual Studio 2010.My computer, which I am using to create the program, is Windows 7 Pro, and SQL Server 2008 is running on a Windows Server 2008 Enterprise, which I have full access to.
I want to click a button and have an SSIS package execute.I looked around on the Internet and found examples, but they do not seem to work for me.I try to add a reference, Microsoft.SqlServer.ManagedDTS.dll, as a few sites advise, but it is not listed when I go to PROJECT>ADD REFERENCE.
I also type:
Imports Microsoft.SqlServer.Dts.Runtime but all I get is a squiggly green line, which when hovered over states "Namespace or type specified in the Imports 'Microsoft.SqlServer .Dts.Runtime' doesn't contain any public member or cannot be found." Below is some code I copied from one of the websites and pasted in my button click event (the path is correct), but a get blue squiggly lines under "Package" and "DTSExecResult":
