I create multiple dynamic pictureboxes and it are to many to add them all manually, is there a way I can e.g. use an integer which adds up every time a new picturebox is made. Then I want to add the same code to every picturebox. Now it creates the picturebox and moves it to the next spot and doesn't create a second. I am using this code if its helpfull:

Using the code below I can create multiple pictureboxes dynamically on a form. What I can't figure out how to do is determine when the user selects one by clicking on it. If I use mousedown events I have to hard code in the subroutine the name of the picturebox, which I don't know until the user selects it.

A while back I made a brickbreaker game with out the bricks. Its a picturebox bouncing on the sides of the form and the whole goal is to keep it from hitting the bottom of the form. Now I'm fed up with that, I want to further myself by adding bricks that I can break and keep score. I have something I came up with, but it will only add 1 picturebox.

I did wrap a try/catch inside the do until. My plan is to add one row, then reset my locX, finally move to a different row(locY) and do the same thing.
I nedd to find a time saving way to controll multiple pictureboxes at once, sometimes 25-50 at once. They are numbered in consecutive order, PictureBox1, PictureBox2, ect. there are over 700 of them in this matrix. Is ther a shorter way of coding their hide, or show function? This is the only way I have to do it.

The problem is that the picture boxes do move but, they move at the same time. For example if Pb1 hits the left side of the form all of the other Picture Boxes will to.

I am having trouble with creating an object from my class what I need to do is apply this class to multiple picture boxes so that I can have them moving on screen at the same time. Well I know how i can change the location of a picture box during runtime but that is only with a picturebox that is already defined in the form before runtime.
So I write an event for that particular Picturebox.
But now i want to do the same thing with a picturebox that a user can add during runtime and then the user should be able to select and move the picturebox.
So now i can't add code to the picturebox event so I wonder how you should do this. ( Maybe with reflection?)
And what if the user added 10 picture boxes and selects a certain picturebox. How do you make it possible that the picturebox the user clicks on is selected?
Should you store each picture box location on the Panel and then when the user clicks on a certain pixel in the panel where a certain picture box is it get's selected?

I have a code running and doing what I want but It is only applicable for single letter. For example the word alabama. all letters without duplicates are placed properly but for letter a, only one letter a is being accepted and moved. that goes for all letters.

So what I wind up with are multiple instances of my panel. Each of these panels has a button on it called Button1.
My question is - how do I capture this button event in a way that I will know which panel index it came from?
In the custom control there is only the Button1_click event - and when I click on it in any of the multiple panels I manually instantiated the event does occur, but how I can tell which one of my instantiated buttons were clicked...
I am developing an application with multiple picture boxes, each displaying a line graph. I want to be able to have a label following the mousepointer showing xy coordinates of the point. I also want to allow a user to zoom in on a specific picture box by double clicking on it. The code does what I want as written (changes backcolor so I know double click event fires) except moving the position of the label to follow the mouse pointer.
However if if uncomment the line in the MouseMoved sub:

Then the label moves as desired however the double click event no longer fires.

Basically, I'm working on a VB project, one instance of it at home using VB Studio and one at school with SharpDevelop (portable). However, some of the school computers do not have .NET 4 and therefore I can't run SharpDevelop to make the forms, etc. I would like to know how to edit/make a form via code, in Notepad++. I can print but I have lost a lot of the methods to print dynamically and I need to know the secret not to pull my hair out doing this. These are the circumstances I need to fill:1. Multiple Document Interface (Parent Document) holding multiple forms.2. Each will print from their own form page but this is the scenario I am trying to accomplish which I did rather well in VB6:Dynamic page length. As it runs through the data and deciding what needs to be printed. All print statements are mapped. currenty =y currentx = x.
a. Calls private sub HEADER to print header (eg store name address) resets currenty= 0
b. Calls private sub BODY based on selections answered. Not answered then omitted.if currenty > 9 inches and you are not done then call private sub TRAIL then HEADER and continue in the BODY recheck for currenty >9 inches and not done printing
c. Calls TRAIL to finish off.
Now I have been able to do all this using the Imports Microsoft.VisualBasic.PowerPacks.Printing.Compatibility.VB6 statement but that is using the old methods and may or may not be usable in 64 bit mode processing.When I use the printdocument.print() method , everything must be handled inside of the printdocument events. Going out of the routine to call another section causes the document to end and start a new page. Since gosub routines are not allowed, it is almost impossible to jump around to make this run properly. Am I missing something???? Can I form the document in different subroutines and pass a completed page to the printer with graphics??
I can do this by constructing the document in a picture box sending all the print commands go to an image the old VB had a more stable image container that did not disappear if minimized or another window openened over it by auto-redraw. I thought about saving it as a .jpg and them printing but that is still just crazy. There has to be a simple way of constructing multiple pages that I am just missing.

View 9 RepliesI have a program that will let you open a certain table in the database and query it on a child form in a MDI parent form. Of course the child form is a new instance of an existing form.The thing I want to do is that the opened table in the child form cannot be reopened again in the other child form. So I did was to create a childform name on every new instance of a childform depending what is the name of the table.
The first thing I did to do this restriction is to put the names of the opened table to an public array and when the user tried to reopen the table, the program will check if the childform name is already existing... and if it exist it will not let the user to open the table in new childform.When the childform is close it will erase it's name to the public array. And it can be open again.If you don't understand what I want to do this is the situation for example in a microsoft office when a word document file was open it will be put in a childform, and when the user tried to open the word file again and still the word file is open in the microsoft word the application will tell it's user that the word document file is still open.
