Cursor Cannot Leave Cell When User Key 'TAB' Or Click In Other Where In First Time
Jun 2, 2011
I have set the datagridview.cellvalidating events. I want the user inputing in the cell and when error, the cursor cannot leave the cell when user key "TAB" or click in other where in the first time. But I find that it does not work in the first time. Until when I click the same cell in the second time, it trigger the action preventing user from leaving the cell and show the error message.
I'm creating an app where I don't want to allow the cursor to leave the form, even when the mouse moves.Would it be something to type into pongMain_MouseLeave ? Something like Cursor.Stop () is all I
I am having a problem where I am on a text box and try to click a button that will bring up some reports. Since my cursor is still on the text box it doesn't go through the "Leave" and so what I entered into the text box is not saved (this happens in "Leave"). I have read previously not to use "Lost Focus" because it causes problems when you leave the form it triggers the "Lost Focus" on on the fields and just in general to use "Leave" rather than "Lost Focus". Is there a way to force my way through the "Leave"? I also don't know which field my cursor could be on (there are probably 20 text box or combo box fields on this form.
I am using Visual Basic.Net 2003 with an Access 2000 database.
An integral part of the program that i'm working on is a DataGrid which I am filling from three different queries, based on the user's input. The Grid properties are coded with specific requirements for each of the queries. I have two simple (hopefully) problems.
1) There is no scroll bar on the grid and I can't find a property or event that will allow me to add the Vertical Scroll Bar. How do I do that.
2) The grids contain only four columns each. I want the user to be able to click on a cell and populate four string variables.
I have a project due tonight and suddenly 2 of my datagridviews are acting funky while the others are fine.
I have 2 tables in an sqlce db. the first is books(id, title, copyright) and the next is publisher(id, name, bookid). I'm writing a vb.net frontend to access the data.
I have data bound datagridviews for both tables. Both have their respective ID columns hidden. The publisher dgv uses a combobox cell style to display the book title in the bookid column. So far so good.
I have suddenly run into a problem where if I have clicked in a cell on the books dgv and then click a cell on another row, the title changes to the id value. The publisher dgv also updates to show the id instead of the title.
It sounds to me like there may be a problem with the booktableadapter or bookbindingsource, but I don't know where to start looking for it. I have a 3rd dgv referencing an unrelated table, and it has no problems. The code for both the working and problematic dgvs are the same (only the control names are different).
I want to send the data that i just entered into a cell to an If-statemens to perform certain functions.I an using the following code just for testing purposes:
1 Private Sub DGVReceipt_CellLeave(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As System.Windows.Forms.DataGridViewCellEventArgs) Handles DGVReceipt.CellLeave
I get a 'Conversion from type DBNull to String is not valid' error when I proceed to insert the row with a null cell value from my program to MS Sql Server even if the column is already set to accept null values in the database. How do I solve this? FYI I'm using an unbound datagrid, and I get all the screen values during runtime.
Property SerialNo() Get Return strSerialNo [code]...
I have a user control, and want to be able to update its cursor while it is disabled. For example, say that I have a user control whose cursor is Default. The below code works ONLY when the user control is already enabled; if it is disabled the below code doesn't work and the cursor remains Default: Me.MY_USER_CONTROL.Cursor = System.Windows.Forms.Cursors.WaitCursor
I want to create a simple autoclick program. What I want to to is a program that makes a click were the mouse cursor is at every 5 minutes (or at any defined period of time) for instance.
I've got a (hopefully) quick question. I've got textboxes attached to a binding source on one of my forms, and when I add, then clear, the data for the next entry to be added a small problem arises. If the user has previously entered something into, for example, Textbox3 and the user does not have the data for Textbox3 the user cannot move to the next field unless something is entered into the box.
what is code i should use if i want to prevent user not to leave empty word in text box after user click save button.Oh ya, i am using visual studio 2005, databse sql 2005 .Here is my code
Private Sub btnregister_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnregister.Click If MsgBox(" Are You Confirm", MsgBoxStyle.YesNo) = vbYes Then
We are using the DataGridView Control for our projects. The Applications we are developing is the replacement for the Existing CLI (Command Line Interface Applications) written using FoxPro.The users are much more familiar with the Keyboard Navigations ratherthan using Mouse and all. Here What we need is, how can we handle the Keyboard Operations in the Data Grid View. Some of the Operations i am listing below. When we hit Enter Key :
1. Navigating the Cursor into a particular Cell (It will be in the Same Row, but Different Order), after getting focus the cell should become editable
2. Navigating the Cursor to the Next Row and First Column (Once i finished the editing in the Last Column )
3. Focusing the Cursor into a Specifc Row and a column. (With Editable)
I have second column as datagridviewTextBoxColumn column in the datagridview, after opening dot net form runtime, in first cell of this column , I am populating - character at third position with remaining everything blank. Requirement is cursor should be at first position in this cell.
But now what is happening is, as my second columns first cell should have cursor after opening form, we are sending tab key from first column to second column runtime with SendKeys.Send("{TAB}") as result cursor is located after - which is not requirement , cursor should be at first position in cell.
I have a program that allows a user to select a program to run at a certain time for a specific amount of time all choosen by the user. Everything works with the exception of if my program has launched the other program, my program become non-responsive. Meaning I am not able to look at that window again. Not that one really needs too, because when time is up my program closes the program it opened, then closes itself. I just want to be able to see my program when the other program is running. how to do this and perhaps drop me some links, that would be wonderful. This is what I have coded, but like I stated there are no code errors.

I have a form where the user chooses a facility and then the list of patients for that facility are displayed in a data grid view. When I click to add a resident, the last name field on the data grid view is highlighted in blue below the last record that already exists. If I try to start typing without clicking in that cell, the facility changes - it looks like the control is still in the facility drop down box. How can I code it so that the user can just start typing in the data without having to physically click in the cell to start entering data?
how can I put the blinking cursor inside a specific cell on form load? I want the effect to be kind of like when you have a form with text boxes and when you set the tab order correctly, the first textbox will automatically have the focus and you can start typing right away. On a related question: how can I make the enter key activate the form's accept button when you're inside a cell?
I have an ASP.NET application with a SQL Server back end. I am storing all my dates in UTC format and doing the appropriate conversions to the local time zone of the browser viewing it. One of the pages asks for a start date and end date (no times).
I am taking the start date and setting the time to 00:00:00 hours (midnight) and I'm taking the End time and adding a time of 23:59:59, so that the date range covers the whole day. Now what I'm trying to do is do a SQL query to do a search for records in this date range. The problem is, the data in SQL is in UTC time and the user is typing their dates and times in their local date and times. My quickest solution was to convert the date and time to UTC, then search the records. However, by doing this, I am to believe ASP.NET converts the given time and date to UTC based on the server time zone. How can I convert a date and time to UTC time based on the time zone of the user?
I have a form displayed in my app and what I want to do is detect when the user clicks outside of the form and close it, however I am not sure how to do this?
What would be the proper way to get the cursor position while the mousebutton is held down? I've tried using a do while loop with a background worker, but it freezes up the application.
I need to know how to get the position of the mouse within a picturebox just as you would with e.location, but you can't use e.location with a picturebox and you also can't use Picturebox.Mouseposition which is very unfortunate.
I can't change the cursor when it's a ToolStripButton.click event.I got 2 buttons that call "Rechercher".
EDITED : Only the Button is working. It seems that the ToolStripButton cancel my cursor...
