I require a "Indicator Control" i.e. I need to display a "multi coloured indicator" with each colour representing a certain condition. Basically "I want to build" a multi colored LED on a Form. I have used a Radio Button before but I need more than 2 colors and the Radio Button is a very poor choice.

I am trying to draw some multi colour text onto a form using the paint event and the GDI+ object (note it has to be done using the GDI as i will be needing to scale and do bmp pixel manipulation on the resulting graphic . I have so far managed to create a class and collection winch allow the user to move the text around and change the displayed string, font and colour.
My question is how can i change my class so that it draws multi colour text? and if possible allow the user (uinsg the mouse to graphically select parts of the text.

My aim is to choose a value from Listbox1 and on Listbox2 I would like to display the corresponding value from a table in my database. I mean, when I select Product A from Listbox1 (which is getting its values from row "Model" in my database table), I should see its price on Listbox2 which is available in the "Price" row of the same table (and also manipulate this price in different places for calculation etc.) . I'm trying to create a log on method for a system which will involve users selecting a colour from a paint panel and then placing/drawing the colour in 1 or more tiles of a grid, basically a 3x3 grid in which for example they selected the blue colour and drew in the top left tile and the bottom left tile. The logon is selecting the correct colour and placing the colour in the appropriate tile. What i want them to be able to do is place even a single pixel of colour so it has a high accuracy. So far i have a timer which loops from the width of the grid to the height of the grid.

To start with i have just hard coded the colour i want it to detect. At present it produces an error. Parameter must be positive and < Width the error is on System.Drawing.Point(i,j). If i place the mouse over the colour then run the program it will say it has been found, but otherwise it wont find the colour. I believe i am not updating the location of the pixel or something to that effect.

I am making a game based on "Simon" where the computer creates a sequence and the user then has to then replicate it. To create and show the sequence I am generating random numbers between 1 and 4 then based on what numbers come out I change the image in a picture box to simulate coloured squares lighting up. The problem however that I think I am having is that the loop I made is executing too fast as all I see when I run the program is the last light in the sequence. For example is the sequence generated was 2341 all I see light up is square 1. I have stepped into the program and it goes through everything correctly so the only thing I can think of is that it runs too fast to see? [code]

I'm considering writing a small program, to enable power management for individual displays in a multi-display environment.Simply and elegantly.Normally, power management is controlled by system activity. The goal of the program would be to link system activity to a specific display, in Windows 7.1 PC, 3 displays: A, B and C.In a normal situation, as long as there is activity, all displays are kept awake. Even if all activity is exclusively on display A. All displays are awake or asleep at the same time.
In the new situation, if activity is limited to display A, then displays B and C will go to sleep, after a specified time. Only the displays that are in use, are awake.
I have a list box that is bound to a table in a database. It produces a list of companies. The user will then come along and select multiple companies that they want to view information about, and then they hit a select button which I'll display the company information (e.g company name, company site, address e.t.c) in a gridview underneath. However the issue that I am having is that it only displays ONE of the multiple companies selected and its always the top one. How I get all the companies to be displayed in the gridview?

I am currently working on a program that takes Visual Basic data in the form of a text file, and then stores this data in C++. Some of the data from Visual Basic is of the type Decimal. C++ has no built in type equivalent to decimal. I don't want to use double because there is a possible loss of significant figures if the numbers are large enough.One option is write my own decimal class.

VS 2008 SP1. I cannot get my application to display in English, it always displays in French. I have an application that uses 2 languages. The default language is en-GB and the second language is French. For setting the text of the buttons and labels. I have set the localized property to true and changing the language to fr-FR on the form. So setting the default languages controls by choosing the default the language property, and then switching to French language to set the French controls. So I have the following files:

I also an address book form that is a child of the formMain. Which I have used the same method. However, the address book works as normal, but the formMain never changes to the language I want. Even though tested by explictly setting the language to en-GB in the form constuctor before the inializeComponent() it will always default to French. Not sure why the address book (child) work correctly, the parent form (formMain) will always display in French, no matter if I have set this to en-GB. I am 100% that my method is correct using what I have show you above. I was thinkng about deleting the formMain and creating a new one. But that would mean doing everything again and would take too long.

I am still learning VB and operating VB 2005 for school. Challenging issue recently arose and would like advice from someone smarter than I .... When writing code to query several elements from a user,such as: Street number, street name, city, state, zip ... all posed as individual response questions. The grade points range from 0 to 500, however, we are only to use the minimum points per each letter grade in " points " array. This is shown in the code below. You then enter a number from 1 to 500, representing the grade points, and in turn it spits out your letter grade.My problem is this. When I enter a number, say 200, I get a letter " D " grade instead of an " F " grade. It appears that every number range I enter gives me one letter grade less than what it is supposed to be. Also, any number 450 to 500, representing an " A " grade does not even register in my Grades Label.
