View 15 RepliesI'm using this code to search a msacces db and display the data in a listview.The Search is fired after the text_changed event of a textbox. So each character is a search and also each backspace(here's where the real pain is) it will search. When I use backspace its very very slow! When I use 100 or even a 1000 records no problem but this db has 10.000 + records.Whitch event can I use to solve this problem or how can I adjust the code for faster search? ALs o when I test on a windows7 system, dualcore, 2gb memory, when I press a key it will take time before I see the character in the textboxs? View 1 RepliesOkay I'm making a song organizer and I have a program that will load the files in a folder into a box and display the songs info into a list view. That part works fine but when you click the button to make it do anything it will get the variables that it need from the tags on the cells for each song but for some reason the one for the Album just disappears... I tried having it just show the value in a message box and it works fine. Just when I try to combine it with another variable then it wont show at all. Heres my code

I have a listbox of the 50 states. I have one textbox and as I enter the first few letters of the name I'm supposed to use the SelectedIndex property of the listbox to display the appropriate name. I am loading a series of JPG images into an image list then using that to fill a list view. My program is using ALOT of memory by doing this. What would be the easiest way to add the images but take up less memory/time?

Write the program in VB.Net (not Web based) and have it accept user input of the amount, term and interest rate. Display the mortgage payment amount. Then, list the loan balance and interest paid for each payment over the term of the loan. The list will be longer than the screen, so use loops to display a partial list, hesitate, and then display more of the list. Insert comments to document the program.

I am trying to get a routine to work in vb.net which will cycle thru a datatable which contains the path to various images and display each one for a specified time. I am starting the routine with a timer control and the images are then displayed indefinetly.The problem is they don't display and then when the routine ends it shows the last picture in the pictue box. When I trace it, it is correctly getting the path of each image but the line "Me.picbox.Image = Image.FromFile(path)" doesn't load the picture to the display. IF I let the routine cycle once so that it ends, the picture box contains the last image.Is there something I have to do to force the refresh of the display? [code]
