Display The Game Scores On And Another Form?

I'm doing a game. I have a form I want to display the game scores on and another form I have that calculates the scores. How do I make variables work from the first form on the second?

Lets just call one form frmStats and the other frmMain, do you get what I mean?

I am creating a came in Visual Basic Express 2008.It is like MineSweeper but different.

I want to keep track of the best scores from my game and update it from time to time with newest best score.

My game is on 4 forms (Easy, Medium, Hard and Expert Levels).I've created a 5th form (NewGameDataSet.xsd) to hold a datatable called GameTable with several variables (columns in it).

On my Easy Game Form i've declared a variable to access it:But I'm cannot seem to connect, access, display any data from my other 4 forms After declaring the dataset below - I run stuck.Dim EasyGameTable As NewGameDataSet

I am Writing a Program in Visual Basic 2008 for my High Schools Advanced Higher Coursework Project... The Game its self runs perfectly and i can display the highscores. i just need some help showing 10 hi-scorers and in ascending order.Currently i am using this code for viewing them.

Get A Text Box To Display The Number Of Scores?

I know this is very basic stuff dealing with arrays, I have been messing this for a while and I'm not getting anywhere.I have a file with a list of 20 number 0-100. I am trying to get a text box to display the number of scores above average when a button is clicked.Using the same file I also need a list box to display the number of A's, B's, C's, D's, and F's, when another button is clicked.

Display/Focus/Show Form On Top Of PC Game?

What I am trying to accomplish is this: I want to be able to press the F5 key on my keyboard, while playing a PC game, to show (bring forward, focus, etc.) my program. My 3 attempts so far have failed. Any idea on how I could accomplish my goal? Similar posts on other forums say to set the form's key preview to true and use on keyPress... which failed.

Is there any way to set coop levels in the .Drawing namespace (or any other namespace, for that matter)?I have made some games in Direct X that were easily shown as full screen apps, but I have returned to the basics of the Graphics class and can find no way to do this. I want to make a full-screen game only using GDI+.Resizing the form and taking away the taskbar is not really what I'm looking for. I just need to know if I can change the moniter resolution as easily as any of the Direct X reference libraries. And a push in the right direction.

Creating File To Record And Display Best Score From Each Game?

To clarify - I'm building a simple game in visual basic and I'm trying to create a simple file to record and display the "Best Score" from each game. Actually there are four levels in this game (each one is on a different form) - I'm trying to save the best score from each level to display in a separate Game Stats form. Therefore I creating a datatable on one form, but then trying to get all my other forms to access it.

But now I get a new DBNull error message in part of code not of my making - NewGameDataSet.Designer.vb
Error Message = "The value for column 'BestScoreEasy' in table 'GameTable' is DBNull."
Does this mean I need another New Statement somewhere?

I trying to display in a label the appropriate number of dashes based on the number of letters in a word that the first player entered.

Basically, when you click play, the first person enters a word, then the second player guesses what it is. That person has 2x #ofletters of incorrect tries. I just need to figure out how to get the dashes to display based on # of letters and not a preset one of 5 dashes. The original program accepts only 5-letter word so that line of code is Me.lblWord.Text = "-----". I have modified it so the user can enter any # of chars. I tried making the above line with a lot of dashes so it but the leftover dashes will stay there and the game won't end. Here is what i have right now for my play button:

I've ran out of options, and there simple was no other place to come. I have wanted to make a 3D game for so long, so bad, I can't even describe it. Now I started in C# making 3D games in the XNA Game Studios 3.1 Engine, but I eventually fell through the cracks. Let's cut to the point, shall we? I was wondering if there was a simple way in Visual Basic 2008, that I could maybe display a 3D model on the screen, like a .x file extension, or .fbx, or .obj or anything...? I can easily create 3D models, and I'm good at it, but is there a simple way, or a component/refrence/game engine that you could use with Visual Basic 2008. I know there's alot more to making games then just display models, Why I choose Visual Basic 2008, you ask? Well, it's my best language and I can easily write small games with x, y, z and float positions.

Black Jack Game - Display Value In Textboxes When Buttons Pressed

I am having trouble with a blackjack game I am creating
I have buttons 1 - 13 (A-K)
I have 5 Textboxes which when the above buttons are pressed displays the values in the textboxes.
I also have one more textbox which adds up the values of the above 5 textboxes to give your Black Jack Total.

The problem I have is if an Ace (11) is in one of the textboxes and the Total Value exceeds 21 I need to have the Ace (11) change its value to 1 instead.
textbox 1 - 5 will be the card values
textbox6.text will be the total Value

I have tried......
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox1.text = 11 then textbox1.text = 1

This seems to work fine however it only solves the problem of an Ace (11) appearing in textbox1.text so i tried to repeat the code with the other boxes...
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox1.text = 11 then textbox1.text = 1
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox2.text = 11 then textbox2.text = 1
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox3.text = 11 then textbox3.text = 1
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox4.text = 11 then textbox4.text = 1
if textbox6.text > 21 and textbox5.text = 11 then textbox5.text = 1
However this does not work and my program freezes?

Im working on a roguelike console RPG. For those of you that dont know, just google search it.What I need help with is that I have an string array called ArrMap(0 to 19) that holds the 20 rows of each map for display. I also have an array of the same size called VisibleMap that needs to hold which portions of the map are visible and which arent so that when the player switches screens [IE goes from map, to inventory] they can go back to the map and it will look the same. I was thinking of using an array, but if you can think of another way to do it, that's fine.Here are the subs that deal with the map reading and display, so you know how I have things set up at the moment.

Lotto Game Mouse Hover Wait To Display Label After All 6 Boxes Have Been Hovered?

I have a slight issue on my program. I have everything in working order except for displaying "You Win!" or "Try Again!" after all text boxes have been hovered. Currently it displays the answer on the first hover because all boxes are already populated with random numbers from an Array and it knows the answer. I want the label to display at the end of the game on the last hover event.

Timer - When The Message Box Stops, Then It Display The First Form Then Stop To Display?

I have a problem in timers, I want to display 2 forms each one after 3 and 5, how to do that? I mean when the first form appears, after 3 seconds another one will appear, then after 5 seconds the second will appear. I have a code where someone gave me here but its for message box only, thus I modify it to put a form still does not work. Here the code I put in the timer below:

I dont quite understand why this wont work i was hoping someone could help, I have got a noughts and crosses game and its all finished appart from the checkdraw sub routine i forgott to write in, so I wrote it out as below:[code..]

Now ScoreX and ScoreO are two variables declaired at form level, I use a very simaler routine for CheckWin and that works a treat. My problem is that when a draw is detected the message box comes up ok but no scores are added to the label control.

What I want it to do is sort the scores by greatest value to least value, but the problem I'm having is that the scores are stored as strings so they are being read and sorted from left to right. My question is, how do I store the scores in a numeric array and place them in the same row as the name, but in the second column? The names and scores only need to be stored as long as the program is running so I don't want to add anything to the registry or create new files to store them.

Save Scores In A Label To A Database?

I'm making a Pong game and currently when the game ends the scores are show in a lable and a message box pops up saying which of the two players won.

However the problem i am having is i want it so that the player who won has their score saved to a database so i need to know how to get the score from the Lable to save to the database but then also have a way possibly a message box ? where the player can input the desired username. so the database would have two collums username and score where score is updated automaticaly and the username is entered by the player.
