I have a text file filled with the locations of pictures and I have this code to dynamicly create picture boxes on my form, the code works because it does create one picture box but no more than that, my question is what do I have to do to this code to get all the picture boxes created?

I'm adding some functionality to an app that was made a few years ago and I need to raise an event when the tabcontrol is clicked. However it would seem because the control was created publicy I can't add a handler to it? I never ran across this before. I stripped the code down to the bare essentials. As you can see in the image, if I Dim the control within the sub I can add the handler. But any handler created for the publicly created control fails.
Is there another way to create the hander in this case?

I am passing some values from a Gridview Update Click event to a popup ASP.net page that dynamically builds a series of textboxes in a Placeholder based on the number of sentences that are found in a specific cell of the Grid Row selected.The boxes that are built represent each sentence found in the cell of the selected row. Each sentence is presented for translation, where user enters data into a 2nd dynamically generated textbox.This all works great.Now I have a Listbox beside the 2nd textbox, which sometimes has 1 or more variables that need to placed into the translated sentence. I have to create controls for inputting info to create people objects in the program, because I don't know how many people they are going to input, I have a button that they can press to add more fields.
I need to add a doubleclick event for these dynamic controls (text boxes), how can I create an event for them if they haven't been created yet. Also, as far as I know you cant make a variable part of an object name while declaring it. I need to do something like

In the following code I open several Excel workbooks from within the VS 2010 .IDE. I want to Try the open workbook code, then Catch exceptions using a dialogbox as a form created programmatically at run-time. The exception handler works, but the dialog box does not display in front of the workbook. So, the user can't respond to the modal form. If at that point the Excel workbook is shrunk manually to expose the dialogBox which is then dismissed, Excel pops up a "Save Changes?" alert and the VB code does not resume the Sub at the Me.Focus() line
When the workbook Is open Excel is the active application. I think this is why the dialog box is not in front, and I don't know how to solve the problem programmatically.[code]...
I have a Winform application where i added picturebox's to a flowlayout panel dynamically from code. I have successfully managed to add a handler for doubleclick and click events the problem i have is that when i add both together it only seems to work with the click event and not the double click. where I could bee going wrong? - The information is coming from a SQL 2008 database.
- Vertical the persons or materials must be shown(dependent of the option field).
- Horizontal every day of the year must be shown, so the number of columns will be 365.
- At the crossing the number of hours must be shown.
- The form must be build as fast as possible.
I tried to create a datatable dynamicly and use a Datagridview. The advantage is the information, which must be shown, can easily be changed. The disadvantage is it is slow.What is the best method to do this in VB2008?

The Sub listed below is for a textbox (MOTxt) and a button (GotMO) for checking an MO# to pull from SQL. Based on the number entered, will populate other text boxes on the page with that row's data. There are exceptions to this, where the MONumber will be entered more than once with different data associated with each entry. So, here's my situation. If we have a duplicate MONumber listed in the table, it will populate the textboxes with the first entry it finds for an update.I would like to create a dynamic dropdownlist (that displays only if multiples are found) displaying the 'Name' field entries for each MONumber found, then once the correct name is selected from that list, to then populate the textboxes with that selected datarow.Here's my code behind:

remove an event handler from within the event handler?
I have a class that gets data from a hand scanner. When the scan is complete and the data is validated, the class fires a custom "ScanComplete" event and returns the data in a custom EventArgs.
In the calling program, I'm creating an instance of the scanning class and adding a handler for the "ScanComplete" event. In the event handler I get the data that was scanned and then remove the handler.
It seems to be working but it feels wrong to remove the handler while I'm running inside the handler. Will this cause a problem?
I have VS 2008 and use VB, not C#/C++ or whatever else. I'm trying to make a battleship game, and I've decided to use the only method I can think of to control the grid. A 2D boolean array for position marking. I have the array set up, and the grid set up in the design form, but I can't figure out with all my research how to link them together. I'm writing this program to shake off the rust before school starts again, and for fun. I took VB in school last year, a half year class, so I have a foundation, now I'm self-educating myself above and beyond the class. I've searched for a way to use a picture box array to use the coordinates of the ship to .Visible=True the picture boxes. I've been working on this for 2 days straight with no results. I just need a little nudge in the right direction. The exception I've been getting with my latest concoction of code is NullReferenceException was Unhandled. I think its referring to the fact that I have no idea how to link the picture boxes into the array. Here's my code, and I'll comment where the exception is thrown:
