Error : Initialization Of The Dynamic Link Library C:WINNTsystem32COMCTL32.dll Failed
Jun 28, 2009
I am getting "Initialization of the dynamic link library c:WINNTsystem32COMCTL32.dll failed. The process is terminating abnormally" when I tried to install a vb package in Windows NT.
I am unsure why all of the sudden i am getting this error every time i compile and run my VB.net program running Oracle 10g. It ran fine many times but all of the sudden keeps saying this now.
I'm creating a project with an Add-on system, and I'm releasing an API so people can develop for my application (its called Levanta, its a basic Sub-OS, and i want people to be able to develop for it). I try to call a sample DLL i made to test out the system i created. Well, i CANT, because its not finding the functions entry point of the said function (its named initialize)...?
My program used to run on my system just fine until I removed some other applications. Then the proggy was giving me a runtime error. The funny thing is that once I installed visual basic 6 and added a reference to dao360.dll, or the Microsoft DAO 3.6 that the program then worked without error.
VB6 was never installed on this system before. The program worked just fine until applications were uninstalled from the system. What happened that caused the reference to stop working? Why did the program stop finding dao360.dll even though the program itself wasn't modified since vb6 wasn't installed?
GetProcAddress Function Retrieves the address of an exported function or variable from the specified dynamic-link library (DLL).Lets say I have something like this:
Dim moduleHandle As Integer = LoadLibrary("C:myDLL.dll") Dim methodName As String = "" GetProcAddress(moduleHandle, methodName) DLL should be win32 standard dll or .net dll.
How can I run the exported function if I have the address of it through GetProcAddress().If someone could supply some code it would be great.
I have created a project in VB.net and its working fine in my machine. But when I provide the exe to my senior to test it shows the initialization error.I came to know the reason that the error is because the microsoft .net framework is not updated in my seniors machine....So there can be a possibility that the framework might not be updated on the client's machine as well.... when the user clicks on the exe file it should check that the microsoft framework is present and updated if not then the exe file should first prompt the user that the microsoft framework is needed and should be updated and start the installation....
When I want to run several programs out of visual studio IDE the program couldn't be run and this message appear for me and say ("Unable to find a version of the runtime to to run this application")I am using visual studio 2005 .net My program is made by basic language. What am i do to fix this error??
I am experiencing some trouble with the autogenerated initializecomponent function. Visual Studio insists on initializing a variable like the following, when I drag a usercontrol onto a form:
Dim HierarchyTreeNode1 As NewDelfiLib.HierarchyTreeNode = CType(New System.Windows.Forms.TreeNode(""), ND.HierarchyTreeNode)
I'm using a C# "API wrapper" library for a program connection. It's been working fine, but when I started to use it I believe I just expanded an already existing test project, so I'm not sure how to now link the library to a project from scratch. [code]...
on installing a application which was packaged through inno setup on a windows xp machine X84 i am getting error as .net intialization error
what i made was while on try i had uninstalled the .net framework 2.0,3.0 and 3.5 and 4.0 and reinstalled frame work 3.5 and 4.0 + restarted the system and also i have tried to repair the frame work installation but no good results
My nightmare had been back again ".NET Framework Initialization Error "I make a program in basic language but when I want to run the program out of visual studio IDE this Error appears for me : the title : " .NET Framework Initialization Error" the body : "Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application."
I have a .NET library which I know can be fairly easily linked from VS project to reference it from code. However for security reasons I want to place the DLL file in another location on the disk and reference it from code including executing methods and passing method parameters. What is the proper technique to accomplish this?
I created a typed dataset a day or so ago, then I added a whole bunch of tableadapter/tables with some relationships etc... suddenly out of nowhere it decides my dataset "is not defined". everywhere in my code where i use this dataset now has an error. I tried not to pull out my hair and do a Clean then Rebuild solution... out of nowhere it just refuses to generate code. Object reference not set to an instance of an Object. It would be nice if it was my object so i could find it but it's not.
Curiously I also lost the little database icon on the dataset in the solution explorer.I can still open it in the designer and preview my queries etc... it just wont make the code. it's driving me insane. anyone got a solution?
I'm using Visual Basic Express 2010 and SQL Express 2008 in Windows XP. At first I couldn't add a datasource (the .mdf file for the database) because of a "Operating system error 32" which I seemed to have resolved by giving myself full permissions for .mdf file (by right clicking on the file and going into properties and then Security) and restarting the SQL SERVER (SQLEXPRESS) service. The dataset for the database is in my solution explorer but when I right click on a table adapter to add a query and attempt to open up the query builder, I get the error in the title above.

I am looking for sample linq code snippet which uses System.Linq.Dynamic against a datatable.
Dim entities = (From ent In dt.AsEnumerable().Where(String.Format("IsUSFederal == {0}", "true")) _ Select Description = ent("Description"), Acronym = ent("Acronym")).ToList
I am getting an error "there is no accessible Where can be called with these arguments". I have included the DynamicLinq.vb file and the application compiles fine (aside from this error). I have included Imports System.Linq.Dynamic but it doesn't appear to be working.
In main form I am displaying dynamic link lables something like below..
Living Certificate - 30
On click of this link I am invoking another form and some process is being done. On saving the count 30 will be reduced by one. Like this many link lables with diffrent headings will be there. Now problem is when I finishe the process and come back to the parent form, the refresh is not happening, thou I am refreshing it. I need to log out and log in to get the correct number again.
I am in the beginning stages of learning VB.NET and all I want to know is how you link a created Class Library to a Form? I've seen code at the top of the designer window that says <dim objSomething as New somethingClass> What the heck is that and how does it work?
I need to click on link in a table whose id is generated dynamically. I want to click on a link based on a text in some other column in the same row. Tried the following code but unsuccessful
selenium.GetValue("//table[@id=TableID]/tbody/tr[td/a/text()='Testing']") Also trying with the following code Selenium.click("xpath=id(TableID)/tbody/tr[td/text()='Testing']//input [@value='Delete']")
I have seen a couple of websites that have a dynamic download link. They ask for a valid email address and send the dynamically created download link to that address.E.X.
I get this error when I try to publish: Error 2 An error occurred while signing: Failed to sign binReleaseapp.publish\setup.exe. SignTool Error: ISignedCode::Sign returned error: 0x80880253
The signer's certificate is not valid for signing.
SignTool Error: An error occurred while attempting to sign: binReleaseapp.publish\setup.exe MITS 2008
I downloaded the .net 3.5 sp1 and it performed a repair but it still will not publish.
I created a SQL DB named MainDB.mdf and a small VB 2010 application with some forms and datasets.Everything was working OK until i got a new computer and re-installed Visual Studio 2010 and SQL server 2010 on it. I copied my DB from the old to the new computer and also copied by VB 2010 project to it. I used Windows Authentication to connect to the DB in the old computer and also in the new one, i am using different Windows user account names though.
I was able to connect to the DB in the new computer in the Server Explorer section, i created a new connection string to the DB and i can seed there is data in the tables. When i run my VB 2010 application created in the old computer get error:
"Cannot open database "MainDB" requested by the login. The login failed. Login failed for user 'D630Admin'."
I need to get rid of that error and be able to add/mod/del data from my DB using my VB application as i used to.
Forgive my ignorance on this.I have this LINQ Query:Dim ngBikersDataContext As New CarBikeWalkDataContext
bikersList = (From c In ngBikersDataContext.Reg_Bikers _ Order By c.L_Name _ Select New Bikers() With { _ .BikerID = c.BikerID, _ .F_Name = c.F_Name, _
[Code]...
with the error "Overload resolution failed because no accesible 'Select' accepts this number of arguments." Over the "NEW" I get an error " ')'expected."
(VB.NET) I get this error as soon as I open the application. It works fine on my machine, but when we installed it on a test machine, we get this error.

I am writing a program to try and centralise alot of data i have on my network so i can use them as templates and guides. My intension was to have an easy to browse program with links in the program which open the particular file (eg. Word document, excel spreadsheet, pdf file etc).I have very limited programming knowledge and in my research i came across this code in VB which allows the program to open the determined file:
Public Class _010101ProgramTemplate Dim procstart As New ProcessStartInfo("explorer") Private Sub btnProgTemp01_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles btnProgTemp01.Click Dim winDirProgTemp01 As String = System.IO.Path.GetDirectoryName("g:Project Management SystemPMS TemplatesSetupProgramDD-IFC PROGRAM.xls")
I am getting this error. An error occurred creating the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. I have completed a VB.NET app .its working very fine from vs2005. Now I am trying to publishing app. My problem is that i got an error when i tried to run exe.I was using five VB6 dll in my app.1)
So i've coded a simple vb project in MS VB 2008. I then copied the contents of the 'bin/release' folder, and tried running the program on another machine. I'm getting 'the application failed to initialize' error. I'm assuming this is because i'm missing certain files, dll's or something. Or should I have copied the obj/release folder?
