Form Does Not Freeze But Appears Not Access Any Of Controls Such As (RTB)

My mate & Myself are currently building a IRC Client, a problem we have come across is when opening a chatroom the form Freezes for example.We are currently using arrays so we can open multiple chat rooms and at this current time to open a chat room we use.[code]Using the above code, the form does not freeze but appears we can not access any of the controls such as (RTB)What would be causing the form to freeze on .show(),

I'm trying to make an autoupdater, so I've made it search for updates in the beginning and that works fine. But now when the update form is supposed to open, it goes a while and then it says "File Download Complete". So that means the form must have been executed, but it does just not appear. But when I click ok on the dialog, the updater form appears, but with all controls white. Here's my updater.vb: [URL]
I'm using Kleinma's WebFileDownloader class.
I suspect that the problem might be that the updater's form doesn't get it's events handled or doesn't get redrawn.

So I know how to get a form inside a form.. I've got

in my form_load.. The trouble is the window appears under all the controls on my main form.
1. How can I make it appear above the controls?
2. How can I make the form center in my main form?

I wanna make a group box that appears behind my labels and other controls (which I create from inside the code). I dont need the controls to be in the group control collection, I only need the box because it looks nice. Right now it appears on top of all my controls.

Well from the module, there's a part where I have to update controls on the form1. Whenever I try doing it, it updates the value, but not the design. For example I write a delegate which makes label1.text = "111", while debugging, label1.text becomes 111, but it does not show it updated on the form design, it just stays at its default value.

I have a form named VBProject It has two TextBoxes and one custom control named MyControl which is created in another project.MyControl's project has a form inside, named Form3. When My control is loaded it needs to find all controls in my VBProject and add them into a listbox which is in Form3. Then Show the Form3. In the end ListView need to shows name and text of textboxes but it shows nothing. Here are my codes:

I am trying to access the controls' properties on another form without having to modify the code of the other projec (the one containing the controls that I want to access) because it is already compiled as a DLL. In this DLL that I am trying to access, the functions/sub-procedures are all declared as private. Would there be any way of accessing the controls' properties without having to modify the DLL? Basically what I am trying to do is create a sort of console application wrapper for the DLL that would create a new instance of the DLL's form and then make certain checkboxes checked and click certain buttons. Basically, I am trying to automate the form as it currently exists.

am developing a basic "stock tracking system" in VB.Net with an Access Database for my final year project, and I am in need of help with some issues that I am still facing.System:The user basically selects a customer, selects the product, batch number, quantity, and date that the customer has chosen, and gives a summary of the transaction.I am then generating a summary report via the report wizard tool to show stock levels, and info on which customers bought what product.My Database contains 3 tables: Customer, Product, TransactionI can currently write to both the customer and product tables, bit i havnt figured out how to save a transaction record yet?, also, I am saving to the product table from a "Deliveries Form" that I have for entering incoming products. But I have not yet figureed out how to subtract the quantity values in the product table from the "Purchasing Form"? This is a major issue)en the user selects a customer from the dropdown box, that customers details is displayed in a label on the next form for the users benefit. This works when I hard-code the customer ID to be 2 for example, but it doesnt seem to recognise the "gCustomerID" (I have gCustomerID declared Global Variables module file)I think that this is the problem?

I've been building controls for many years professionally and personally, but even back in VB6 days I just could not work this out. After all this time I remembered about it again.If I create a usercontrol/containercontrol and add one or more controls to the controls surface, I just cannot figure out how to access the controls at design time.

I've been trying to use "System.Threading.Thread.Sleep(15)" as the delay code but if freeze the form. I used this "Location.Refresh()" where location is the name of the form, but it didn't give me what I need. This code is going to work on a ProgressBar while typing and the value of the progress bar change while typing. The progress bar jumps to the new value and I want it to move. So I thought about puting it in a "For ... Loop" but the whole form freezes.

I have a tab control application, each tab loads a particular user control and each of those user controls will then add other user controls that are used amongst other the user controls. For example, I have an "ucQuotes" page and an "ucInventory" page, when the specific tab is selected, the "uc****" user control is loaded on that page, and in the case of "ucQuotes" and "ucInventory" they both use a control called "ucPartNumber"; a user control consisting of a combobox, textbox, and button. I have no issues reusing the shared user controls, in this case. My problem arises with my "ucQuickPrice" control, as it is always present at the bottom of the tab control form (separate from the tabcontrol, but on the same form), and it too uses ucPartnumber.
Here's my issue, as I type into the ucPartnumber combobox, the text I type does not appear in the combobox, it appears in the textbox of the ucPartnumber control that is being used on the tabcontrol page. There are no shared instances of ucPartNumber, nor do I have this issue between typing on one tab page and the text showing on the user control of another tab page.I tried just creating the ucPartNumber controls on the ucQuickPrice control, not adding a new instance of ucPartnumber on the .Load event, and the issue persists.
The combobox(s) in question are bound programmatically with about 40,000 items, ".datasource = dataset.tablename" not to a bindingsource. Autocomplete is set to none, I added code to utilize tool tips and the basic combobox filtering functionality. Is this a bug, or is there something I'm neglecting? I'm about 95% complete with this application, and this just happened today. I made the decision, to just reuse the ucPartNumber control on the ucQuickPrice control (originallly it's size and orientation would not fit, but I added some coding to detect what parent is adding ucPartNumber and to change its appearance accordingly). Before, I made this change, I did not have this problem. And, in trying to go back to how I had things set up before the change, the problem will not go away. if the whole control within a control verbage I used is a bit confusing, let me know and I'll try to better explain what is happening. At this point, I'm going to close and reopen vbexpress, as when I started this ordeal, vb started acting weird and wanted me to save all my work, it usually does this before locking up.

I have a slight problem With an enumaration of child controls on a form. The following code will not get but about have the controls that are on the form. The controls show that the count is correct but when it goes through the loop it skips over some of the controls. If you run it through the enumeration two or three times it will get all the controls a few at a time. The solution uses two forms, one that has the controls and the other that labels are made and displayed on. The Tx is just a index to add a number to the label.name and rename the label. So each label is identified seperately. This works for all the the controls that are seen in the for each loop.

I'm using loop to read data from sql and then make some calculations then save it again to another table but when application loop for 3 or 4 times it's freeze but the job is done but if loop = 10 or more then it is freeze and hangup for long time .i need to learn how to make my application working better and never freeze and make application working with any count for loop without freeze .
