From Listview To Ms Access?

Listview In Child Form - Listview Will Not Access With My Add Button Control In FrmCreateUserType
Jul 29, 2010I have 3 forms, one frmMain - main form, second is frmUserType- childform, and the last frmCreateUserType. In the main form I have a menu item to open my frmUserType, In this form I have a button to open another form which is my frmCreateUserType, In this form I have a button to add records then update the listview in frmUserType. The problem is the listview will not access with my add button control in frmCreateUserType. I tried not to used mdiparent declaration for my frmMain and frmUserType as children and it works, so meaning that the problem is showing my frmUserType as childform?I am using vb.net 2008

VS 2008 - How To Access Listview Data - Program That Contains A (listview) Control
Sep 22, 2009I have a vb-2008 program that contains a (listview) control.

AllowColumnReorder = true
Lets say the table has 3 columns (a,b,c) and 1 row of data.
a b c
1 2 3
I want the user to be able to re-arrange the columns (by dragging the column headers) before printing the contents of the table.
c a b
3 1 2
Statements like:
.. ListViewX.Columns(2).Text
.. ListViewX.Columns.Item(2).Text
.. ListViewX.Items(0).SubItems(2).ToString
Give the column-name (c) and cell-contents (3) of the origional table .. not the (3rd) column (b) of the re-arranged table.
How can i get the column-name and cell-contents of the (3rd) column of the re-arranged table?

Nov 18, 2009I am developing a Windows application that reads from a database and creates a total and subtotals for the records in the database. I am supposed to include a Try...Catch statement that reads the records in an Access db table and adds an item to the ListView control for each record. Each field in the record should be added as a column in the ListView control.
I have already gone through and created my Form_Load event that creates the columns needed in the ListView. I have created the beginning of the Try...Catch statement that opens the database connection. I do not know the syntax I should be using to add the record to a ListView control.Normally I would use something along the lines of to read the data:

Oct 27, 2011I have a DataList (Question) inside the ListView (Section). ListiView is to hold the sections. DataList holds the questions of a section. Let's say I have 3 sections, each section has 2 questions.

But it does not get anything back, question always gets nohting. I think it's because there are 3 DataList inside the ListView now, due to 3 sections, and it cannot find DataList dlQuestion anymore. How do I access these DataLists of ListView from the code behind? I need to loop through each control of the DataList .
Deleting Item From Both Access DB And ListView?
Jul 25, 2009Im having some trouble figuring out how I should delete these items. I want it to delete the one I have selected in the listview and delete the corresponding item in the DB. Ive tried various combination's and this is the latest one I have:

So where am I messing up? I keep getting errors no work done but when I close the form2 and open it back up no DB items show up in the Listview. But I close my project, and open it back up and they're back. All while never changing in the DB.

Feb 11, 2010I used the following code for retrieving a column items from access table and displaying it by using list view and it work perfectly, the problem now is that I need to add another column items to the list view ... but how? I displayed the two columns with their headers but the problem is retrieving the items for the second column.

Jun 6, 2011I have a small application which has a MS Access as backend, and the front end is developed using VB.Net 2008. When I click on the listview item and then click delete button to delete a particula list and its content on the database, it is giving me the error as "No value given for one or more required parameters". My access database have a Primary key as the first character of the firstname combined with the first 2 characters of the lastname. It does not have a Anutonumber fiels. My code for the delete button is as follows: the code was working fine on a MS Access that has a Primary Key as the AutoNumber being generated.

Loading MS Access Database Information In ListView
Jun 22, 2010I'm having a problem with loading my MS Access Database. I can get it to load but it won't load in a row. My friend told me to try this but it puts all the information in a column instead of putting all the information spread out accross the row.
