Get The Database And Data Set Changes In Place?

I spent most of Friday deleting stuff out of my windows project and/or starting from scratch when the data base was changed. What is the cleanest way to get the data base and data set changes in place? The current changes(which I have not applied yet) effect the file that I am maintaining in my windows project. Right now, we manually delete the data set project from our local PC, then copy the new one down from it's permanet location on the server.

Initially while login from form1, the application will check login from the database and after login, it again populate values from database to gridview in another form2, and after that i will add values to the database in another form3. And so when again coming to form2, the gridview does not populating the updated values from database. Actually where to place the database files in an application?

I am wanting to populate a form with check boxes and labels on starting of the app. My idea is to store to locations on the form in a database. I am creating an app that would have check boxes and labels that the user could check off to store points for completed tasks. The tasks on the form could change so I want the form to change as the tasks are changes with out re-coding the app.I am using VB 2003. I have searched but couldn't find anything.

I am having some fields in ms-access database. I want the label and textbox control to be placed dynamically from those fields. For eg: I am having 2 fields in database UserName and FirstName. So during run time, 2 labels and 2 textboxes must be placed on the form, and with the caption as lblUserName & lblFirstName and txtFirstName & txtUserName. So after i enter text in that, with a button click event those are added to the database? How to do this?

Like I imagine everyone, I often have problems navigating my code because the flow can jump from place to place. For example, if my code calls routine1, and I then want to go to routine1's code, I know that I can click in the dropdown menu and it will take me to that sub. But wouldn't it be easier if I could somehow right click on the call to routine way and select something like 'take me there' which would transport me from the function making the call to the code for the function being called? Then it would be easy to hop from place to place.

I was currently looking at on old application that I am maintianing and it uses a mixture of retrieving Application config settings from both the App.config and application config table in the DB.In the new software I am working (a port of the old application) I have a list of email addresses that are static and rarely change, what would be the best mechanism for retrieving these. Currently I am using resource strings so that using them is a simple My.Resources., but what are the benefits/drawbacks of storing the information either in the App.Config or a database table.

I'm in the process of converting an app to vb.net 2008. I was using an msflexgrid previously. I am not using a database to fill the datagrid but as the application recieves data via a tcp connection I place the data into the datagrid's columns. The problem I am having is with column widths. I have 10 IP address I need saved so that when the programed is closed the user doesn't have to re type them all back in. To get around this I created a database that would store the values. My table contains one Field "host" and then has all 10 IP addresses listed below that.I'm trying to figure out how to make a text box on my form look at a certain row in a SQLServer 2005 table.
For example:
txtIP1.text = Row 1 of SQL table
txtIP2.text = Row 2 of SQL table
Here is what I have in my Form load Event. This works, but again I need the second rows value to show in the second txtbox.

I have on my form a combobox, a datetimepicker, a button and a unbound datagridview. The datagrigview is fild with data like a yearcalender.So i have in first column all dates of januari, then a blanc column, then the dates of februari, then a blanc column and so on...This is wat the user will do :
select his name from the combobox, select a date from the datetimepicker and press the button.What i would like to happen then is this : Find in the datagridview the same date as the selected one and then place the selected name in the blanc cell next to that date.

I have finally got my code all working, but there is just a quick query really. At the moment I have all the database stuff in each form seperatly. When I place it in a global module, it looks like the dataset is being duplicated I was wondering why this happens when I place it in a global module?

I want to use the http:[url....API function to upload a picture onto ImageShack and then obtain the image_link. The only problem is, how do you place an image with its file name with the form-data along with the API key? This is what is stumping me in trying to implement the function.By the way, OpenDialog is already implemented to select the file to upload.
Update: I tried adapting the existing code to use the Unified API and it still does not work. If anyone knows what's wrong in the code, just make the modifications... Otherwise,

i have been coding for years, but never integrated XML. So I guess I'm a newbie. I have inserted an XSD file in my project, ARequest.xsd. I created a folder in my project called XML just to organize things, so this file ARequest.xsd, is in this folder.
Now I have a form that displays data from a database that has the same fields that are in this XSD file. Can I load the XSD file into my Windows Form, load the elements from the data on the windows form and then create an XML file then send it? If so how? Any code snippets would be helpful. I am trying to deploy my first application using vb. I have tried to use the one click but here is my problem.
I have a group of data files, some *.txt and one access data base (*.dbf) that I need to have placed in a folder (that is created) located at c:monitor.
how to do it in either the one-click or in a setup project.
I would also like to have a condition that if the files exist that they are not overwritten with an updated installation.

I am learning Visual Basic 2010 and I am working on a space combat program for my own education and amusement (a simulation of the Honorverse space combat system). I have a routine to add ships to the enemy ship roster and then place them randomly on the viewscreen. When I step through the sub with the debugger, it works fine, but when I run it without stopping, it wants to place all the objects in the same place on the screen. It's actually assigning 2 random numbers pertaining to the size of the viewscreen and assigning those numbers to GameObjectScreenLocation through GameObjectWorldLocation.X and GameObjectWorldLocation.Y. The objects are fully initialized to 0 in their constructor, FYI. Code is below:

I have a insanely large file that has a lot of customer data in XML format. The start of a customer and end are how I'll determine the starting and ending points of the customer data I need to extract. The is the number I'll be searching for. I'll input a regular text file with 12-byte document numbers into the file (Doc Number List.txt), search the massive XML file (example.xml) for those document numbers, find the data before and after the DOC_NUM tags, but within the CUSTOMER tags and extract it to a formated file. The formated file needs to have these tags, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>

This program is very difficult for me, but I must get threw it or I cannot finish... What I am doing is making a Database of foreign Languages with the spelling of the words and the pronounciation inside the database... The USER enters a paragraph of words into the translator textbox and pushed translate. I am sitting with a situation that I have to combined (3 years) for 26 site of 29000 database files where there is 1 table in each data base called RECDATA, I need to combined all that data Into one database file called RECDATA.
For example there is a database called DB1 with a REDATA table inside it, and then DB2 with a RECDATA table inside it, DB3 with a RECDATA table inside it est. So I need to put all the Recdata into 1 Database file, or to copy all the RECDATA from all the database files to 1 RECDATA they all have the same columns All I need is to get all that data into 1 RECDATA table.
The program where this database comes from is a voicerecording system creating a new database every day. There is 1 database just for indexing (to view the recordings) and then the daily database is where the recording lies in, that Colum is called RECFILE. I will give you a example of the 2 database.
