If Not IsDate(Entity.SelectedDate) Then
ErrorList.Add(New CValidationError("MainReport", "Please select a weekend date"))
SelectedDate is of type Date. It seems to me it would be impossible to ever hit this condition. Is this true?

Dec 29, 2011Im trying to build a user control to enter date as dd/mm/yyyy. I want to create a text box control so the user can enter the date without making a mistake.ex:-Lets assume that the user is trying to enter 31/03/2010 so when the user types 3 first the next number allowed should only be 1 or 0 because there cant be any date more than 31.and if the user enters 31/ then he should only be allowed to enter a month which has 31 days. Im trying to implement this codes in keypress method.So it checks the errors at runtime and prevents the user from typing a wrong value.So far i have got to something like this but Im stuck.Please help

VS 2008 MonthCalendar Control, Show 1990's Date?
Apr 9, 2012I've seemed to found some interesting behavior with the stock MonthCalendar control. I've set the MinDate property to 1/1/1990 but when I try to actually select a date anywhere previous to 1/1/2000 it jumps to 12/31/2999 why is that?
I've tries manually setting it to 4/8/1998 and it jumps to 4/8/2998 which isn't what I would expect a calendar control to do. Is there a reason it keeps it within the 21st century?

Jun 22, 2010I am using MS Visual Studio 2205 Version 8.0.50727.42 and MS.Net Framework Version 2.0.50727 SP2 I created a form that requires the user to enter a date into the textbox.I then use the IsDate function to check if the entry is a valid date. IF Not IsDate(fieldname) then send message back to user on form, otherwise continue.If something like this is enterred - 06/090/10 - It passes the IsDate question and of course fails at the database level when inserting to a datetime field. Although there is a three character day, it still passes.

Apr 6, 2009I am writing a program to analyze error logs from an existing application, and I want to consider only lines that have a Date/time stamp at the beginning of each line.( in the format "03/13/08 08:03:58") I am extracting this as a string and want to evaluate it to make sure it is a valid date so I am using "IsDate(Mid$(TextArray(i), 1, 18))". The problem is that IsDate evaluates False even when the string I am passing should be valid (eg. 03/13/08 08:36:59).

Can tell me the correct syntax to change the #5/1/2010# AND #5/30/2010# so the WHERE clause uses dteStartDate AND dteStartDate which are date variables ?
I tried this but it tells me I need to use the to_date function. dteStartDate is already a date variable so I know my syntax is wrong.

I want the user to enter the date without entering the / symbol and enter it as dd/mm/yy then format it to dd/mm/yyyy. I also want it to be highlighted when they give the control focus.

My database field is a datetime field in SQL Server 2005.I am able to bind the data, but my control doesn't work when a date isn't entered. I'm pretty sure that this is a DBNull issue. I need to be able to insert NULL into the database when a date isn't entered. When a date is entered, I want to insert that date into the database.
