Have A Multiple Form Project That Is A Mortgage Calculator?

Feb 7, 2010

I have a multiple form project that is a mortgage calculator and I am having trouble with my Payment Numbers. One of the things I am listing in the amortization table is Payment #. The variable for that is Lyears. It seems like Lyears is set to 0 so it continues and never stops.

Public Class Week3Calc
Private Sub Button3_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles CalcBtn.Click
Dim MonthlyRate As Double 'Initiates variable

Program - Vb - Create A Mortgage Calculator ?

Nov 8, 2011

I'm taking an introductory programming course, and am completely flummoxed as to what I'm doing wrong with my program. The problem seems to be in my arithmetic, as the program runs fine; it just doesn't produce the correct result when compared to the professor's control model.

I need to create a mortgage calculator, using the following formula: monthly payment = interest rate * loan amount * ( (1+ interest rate) ^ months) / ((1+interest rate)^months)-1) )

We have to use that formula, no other one. If anyone can spot an error in my code, please let me know what I've done wrong!

The code I've written is as follows:

VS 2008 About Variable Help Me. In My Calculator Project

Feb 27, 2011

just Addition only at this time each number 0 to 9 have this code[code].....here what he says..Write the code for the equals button. There's only three lines in total, and here's a little help.

You need to use the other variable that was set up at the top of the coding window, total2. The variable total1 will be added to whatever is total2.The first line of code will be this

total2 = total1 + (something missing here)

Your job is to supply the missing code. In other words, replace "(something missing here)"

Remember that total1 contains the first number to be added. And you know where that came from. The only thing left to do is to add the second number. For the second line of code, you need to transfer the total2 variable to the textbox. For the third line of code, all you are doing is resetting the variable total1 to zero. That's because after the equals button has been pressed, we have finished adding up. If you wanted to do some more adding up, that total1 will still hold the value from the last time. If you reset it to zero, you can start adding some new numbers.

Multiple Operations With A Simple Calculator?

Jul 31, 2011

I've got the bulk of a calculator up and working, however it doesn't like multiple operations. For example 3x5+2= brings up 10 (i.e. 3+5+2) and even doing it in two parts doesn't help, if I enter 3x5= I get 15 then +2= gives me 32 (i.e. 3x5=15 15x2=30 30+2=32). Also I am getting trialing zeros in my command line I can't debug.Note that lblcommandline displays the whole function and lbldisplay just displays the current imputted number.

Public Class frmSimpleCalc
'This code is run when the program starts. Here we 'declare' or basically, define which variables we want, what they are and such.
'So, for this example, we need two variables. The number we are CALCULATING and the one which we will CALCULATE FROM.

Debug-mode - Calculator - Change The Project Name And All The File Names That Had That String In It

Nov 11, 2010

It's just a small calculator project so it's no big deal, but after I had built the project, I wanted to change the project name and all the file names that had that string in it (and all internal references to that string). I had played with this before and knew that it was asking for trouble but I thought, "What the hell, I'll try it again." feeling a bit brash.

Well, everything works fine in debug mode, but there is this DOS window that pops up just before the main form does, and it doesn't go away for the entire debugging session. I think I see that window pop up on all other projects too (if the main form doesn't cover it up completely), but normally, it's only there for a split second.

VS 2008 - Timer - Project A References Project B So Can Open A Large Form In Project B

May 5, 2010

For reasons that are beyond my control, I have three Projects. Projects A and B reference project C. Project A references project B so that it can open a large form in project B. I now need to open that large form from project C, but VB won't allow me to add a reference from C to B because that would create a circular dependency. I found a way around it, though. I created a Timer in A, and when I opened C from A, I passed in that timer. When the user performs a certain action, I enable the Timer from A, and this causes C to open B for me.

VS 2010 1 Project - Multiple Project Types ?

Sep 30, 2011

A colleague has written a useful tool. He wrote it as a standalone tool, but it works even better as an includable dll, though it needs a bit of other functionality for it to be a really good drop-in component. What I am wondering is whether a project can be compiled as both an exe and as a dll?

There are alternatives, such as having a dll version and an exe version, since the dll version needs to include a few different methods that the exe version doesn't need, but this alternative sucks, since it would mean changing two sets of code.

Another alternative is to build the dll, then change the exe to be a project that references the dll....and does nothing other than calling one method in the dll. That kind of sucks, too, but not as bad.

I want to be able to use his module in some of my programs, and it really should be built as a component rather than a standalone app, but I want to know whether there are other options that I haven't considered.

Calculate The Maximum Mortgage Possible For A Customer?

Dec 3, 2011

I have to calculate the maximum mortgage possible for a customer. If it is a single application, the customer can borrow up to three times their salary plus any savings and investments they may have.

If it is a joint application, the customer can borrow 3 times larger salary and 2 times the smallest, also borrowing against any savings and investments. In either case, the applicant is not allowed to borrow in excess of 90% of the purchase value of the property (including stamp duty and legal fees).

I have declared everything and done out the code, yet every time I calculate the max amount they can borrow, it comes up as 0. My code is below if anyone can spot problems.Private Sub Button2_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _

Cannot Display Lengthy Mortgage Payments?

Oct 9, 2010

I am creating a mortgage calculator using Visual Basic Express version. I am currently using the Console method, or command window view. I have it set up so the user can input the mortgage/loan amount, interest rate, term (in years), and have the formula for calculating the monthly payments. The problem I am having is that I need the program to display "all" the payments for the term of the loan, the loan balance/interest paid, and depreciating after each payment. The program should display a certain amount of payments, hesitate, then continue to display until it shows the end of the term of the loan. Basically, it is now an amortization loop formula I am trying to implement into the program.

Use A Calendar's Date For Calculating A Mortgage?

Dec 4, 2010

I am writing an application for my class, wherein I have a mortgage that will give the customer a discount of 1% on their interest if they pay early in the month, or penalize them by 1% if they are after the due date. Right now, I have it working with a checkbox that the user selects. However, I would like to have VB see the current date on the calendar I placed in the application already, and calculate the appropriate amount of interest based on that information. I am using Microsoft 2008 Visual Basic Express Edition on a PC.

Reference Windows Form Project From Another Windows Form Project In Same Solution

Dec 8, 2010

I have a solution with several projects most of which are code or control libraries. I have a main windows forms application that references and uses these libraries. What i am trying to do is create a 2nd windows application that extends the main one, but i would like to be able to deploy them as separate exe's.

When i try to add a reference to the new app referencing the main app; all seems fine until i try to run the new app i get several error msgs similar to below:

Error 1 Could not find file 'ADODB.dll' referenced by assembly 'D:Visual Studio 2005ProjectsXXXinDebugXXX.exe.manifest'. <newAppName>

i have tried adding references to all the dll's in the error messages and they are still listed when i try to run the new app. I thought of a few work arounds but they require user changes to maintain separate exe's at deployment. I would like to avoid this if possible.

Multiple Project Executable's?

Jan 17, 2010

My project will be a collection of 3 projects that have similar GUI's and call on common assemblies. I want my project to contain 3 executable files when published that will load one of the designated smaller projects. Each of the smaller projects is designed to perform a different task, yet they are all similar in terms of looks and how the user interacts with the program. The best way to picture it would be MS Office. All the office programs (excel, word etc..) are part of the same package, and look similar but they perform different tasks. You can load any of these programs by opening the relevant .exe file, which is exactly what i want to do with my application.
