Fix A Progressbar That Is Working As A Sort Of A Counter That Show's Where The Music Count Is?
Jan 26, 2010I am doing a media player, based on WMP's controls..And i am trying to fix a progressbar that is working as a sort of a counter that show's where the music count is.And also what the name of the song is.and also trying to make all the songs would show without extension and the whole C:\music\mysong.mp3 instead having mysong.mp3

I do not have access to any kind of loop counter because the function is a big loop, but I do not want it to be done in the click event, I want the click event to call the function, as it does here. Is there any way to report the progress in a progress bar on the form with the button that called this function?

May 13, 2012i want to ask about progressbar i mke some looping, maybe long looping, can be 2000 record or maybe 20K record but i want the progressbar show the progress of that looping example = i have 20.000 record, when it loop on the 2.000 record, the progressbar automatically 10%, then if 2.200 then progressbar become 11%.. and the progressbar is dynamically changed within the record i have read some about BackGround worker, but i dont know the concept.so i count the record, and then set the maximum value for progressbar, and inside looping, i set the value 1 by 1 but, if i count it first, then it will 2 time loading and not as fast.

Converting A Database Field (long Varchar) With No Length To String?
Jun 26, 2009I'm pulling records from a db table (sybase) where I have run into a problem with a long varchar field. Using the OLEdb class I convert the field into a string variable which works fine in most cases, but there are problem with a few records. Examining the field in the database it shows that the value is not null, but the length of the field is 0.(SELECT field, length(field) FROM table). When I try to convert this into a string the result is rubbish.strContent = objReader.Item(i). Feb 13, 2012I am using VB .Net to access the eBay API and store all completed orders in a database. This database is then fed into a proprietary shipping system, which can not handle an order number larger than 20 characters. eBay returns an order number like so 230407279314-680141236013 which is too long. The order number is always 12 numbers a hyphen and 12 more numbers. What I need to do, is turn this (the result can be alpha numerical) into a shorter, unique order key to store in my database alongside the true orderId (so that this can be referenced by the shipping software instead of the actual order number). The reason for the 20 character limit is the barcode algorithm used. Is there any way to achieve this in VB .Net 2010? This number can be anything unique, so long as it does not exist already (even a good uniqueid function would work, but I would have to query the database to make sure it isn't taken)

My version of music studio is like real music video where we can play many sound at any time. For example, the application that I want to build can create many button and also add an audio along with it. And then, when we hit the 1st button, it play 1st audio. while 1st audio play, we also can hit 2nd button and 2nd audio is playing. for example, 1st audio is sound of man walking, and then 2nd audio is the sound of glass break. lastly 3rd sound sound of police siren play.
