i would like to get my form to open form with textboxes empty and ready for being populated. I have tried the coded below:

I am working on a proyect and i got stucked,The thing is i have a form which contains a datagrid, and a group of txtboxesI load information into the datagrid through a recorset called rsservices that uses a db table in informix ( i work with adodb connection and adodb recordsets)and it works fine.Then when you click in a record into the datagrid i want it to display the information of the row selected into the textboxes , there are like 5 textboxes each one shows a different info of the same row.
ex : row = Name, last name, address, gender, id etc
but i failed doing that what I tried was, in the activated event of the form :

after i do all that and run the program the thing loads the first row into the textboxes but when i try to select another row from the datagrid it does nothing?
there are two forms, form1 and form2. form1 has textboxes 10, the user can enter data in a specific number of textboxes: ie: 5 or 3, or etc.
then the user clicks a button, and based on the number of textboxes that he entered data on, form2 will load a number of texboxes: If the user filled 3 textboxes in form1, form2 will show 3 textboxes.

The insertion part of the form works great. But my problem is in the form load part......If i leave a field blank(Null),then perform Save operation,close the form after successful insertion and then reopen the form,then it retains the previous values during the form load......This is only in case where i leave a field blank in the previous data entry in the database.......But if i enter values in all fields then form load is working great.
I have textboxes which is placed inside accordian (ajax control).In pageload event i have written the code to load values in textboxes. But onload event one error is coming as object not set to instance of a object. Values are not coming in textboxes.
Then i tried to initialize controls in textboxes .Then the error cleared. But
Values are not coming in textboxes. What may be the reason for this?

The idea is to be able to clear and reset all of these by clicking a reset button.
At the moment i got this

Im trying to achieve a complete reset of a form i have used. I have a parent form and want to reset the second form... Im completly new to using multiple forms however some researching has lead me to this... as posted by a previous user in 2005 'if it's a form that's opened from another form in the parent form you can make a Friend Sub that will close the current form and make a new instance of it and open it, then when you need the form to be "reset" the form just call the parent form's sub '

View 4 RepliesWhat im trying to do is, when I click on any row on my datagrid(dgvCompositions), all the cells(16 columns excluding ID column) in that row must be loaded into the 16 textboxes I have (txtB1, txtB2, txtB3....)
So when I click the row, and the entire row is highlighted the text from the cells get loaded into the textboxes.

I've been trying to save the textboxes individually but when I go to load the information everthing is pushed all into one textbox.....I'm also using the SaveFileDialog and OpenFil

My program is a version of blackjack. when who won or lost is figured out i want all the cards to clear (held in an array of picture boxes) I have random numbers generated (also put into an array) each random number then finds the image of the card it belongs too and then places it into the array of picture boxes. View 5 RepliesOk, so I am building my own program to control a video player I have through telnet, I have everything else working except one thing.I have a reset button to reset the player, when I press it, it sends the string "Reset" and the unit resets without a problem.But when I add a code to close the winsock connection upon reset, it doesn't send the string to the unit. I am sure what is happening is the winsock is getting closed at the exact same time it is trying to send the string and so it fails to send, how do I make it close winsock AFTER the string has been sent? I have created an windows application which stores it data in a database. What I would like to know is how do I access the tables in the dataqbase and transfer the data in them into textboxes on the forms in my application. I can connect to the database and view the tables, but I have'nt got any idea how to get the data from the fields in the tables into the appropriate textboes on the application forms.

I am looking for a way to save and load the values of all my controls present in my form.My form has around 100 controls spread over 7 tabs. The controls include (Multiline) TextBoxes (Strings), NumericUpDowns (Integers, Decimals) and Checkboxes (Booleans). If the user clicks the save button a "Save File" dialog should appear allowing the user to specify the directory and the filename of the save file.All the values of the controls should then be written to that file.If the user clicks the load button an "Open File" should appear where the user can pick a previously saved save file. All the controls should then adopt the values found in the save file.I have implemented Application Settings in my form, and now when I click save, it saves the control values through My.Settings.Save(). If I click load it loads them.However, my project requires that multiple save files can be made to reflect multiple configurations. As I understand Application Settings only allow for a single .config file in the Application Data folder.So how can I code a save/load routine to save/load different configurations?

I have 4 Group Box,each contains some text boxes and combo boxes.I used Supervalidator Required Field Validator control to each of the controls in Groupbox1.and i implemented validation when cursor leaves the focus from the GroupBox1.it works perfectly..But my problem is,when i clicked "Reset" button it automatically turns on the validation and there is a "This field is required" message in other fields appears,after entering values to those fields in GroupBox1,then Reset works. How can I disable that validation check when the user clicks "Reset"?
