Save/load Multiple Multi-lined Textboxes?
Aug 29, 2011I have six textboxes that need to have the text saved/loaded. They all have random line amounts under 28 if this info helps at all.

I've been trying to save the textboxes individually but when I go to load the information everthing is pushed all into one textbox.....I'm also using the SaveFileDialog and OpenFil

Jan 4, 2010I have a multi-lined string message that needs to be added to the Resources.resx file of the project. Currently I'm achieving this some thing like this MessageBox(My.Resources.MyMsg1 & vbNewLine & My.Resources.MyMsg2 ). This works.However I'd like to have the entire message in one resource string rather than adding two resources strings to the Resources.resx file.I've tried using' but no luck..message displays as "My message.Rest of the message".I've also tried manually adding a new line in the Resources.resx file. ( by doing "My message.<Shift+Enter>Rest of the message" But message is adding an additional space before the message in the second line.

May 30, 2012I am looking for a way to save and load the values of all my controls present in my form.My form has around 100 controls spread over 7 tabs. The controls include (Multiline) TextBoxes (Strings), NumericUpDowns (Integers, Decimals) and Checkboxes (Booleans). If the user clicks the save button a "Save File" dialog should appear allowing the user to specify the directory and the filename of the save file.All the values of the controls should then be written to that file.If the user clicks the load button an "Open File" should appear where the user can pick a previously saved save file. All the controls should then adopt the values found in the save file.I have implemented Application Settings in my form, and now when I click save, it saves the control values through My.Settings.Save(). If I click load it loads them.However, my project requires that multiple save files can be made to reflect multiple configurations. As I understand Application Settings only allow for a single .config file in the Application Data folder.So how can I code a save/load routine to save/load different configurations?

Sep 18, 2010Is there a simple way to save user input from MANY controls (textboxes, comboboxes, etc...) to a text file? When I say 'MANY', I am referring to at least 580 textboxes and several dozen comboboxes.
I may be able to accomplish this using the StreamWriter Class, but doing this individually would take quite a long time. I suppose I could also change all text boxes to richTextBoxes and save to .rtf. It seems like this would be even more time consuming.
Surely there is a simpler way to do this 'globally', perhaps with an added single line of code that points (and saves) to a preset or created text.txt file whenever text is added or changed in a textbox or combobox throughout the program.

Oct 15, 2011Have Two Text Boxes one for "user name" and the other for "password" and also have a MS Access database with three coloums "UserIdNum" which is an auto num, "UserName" and "password" i want it so when i click one button "create user" it adds the data from the two textboxes to the two coloums "UserName and Password". Load Recordset Into Textboxes?
Oct 25, 2010I am working on a proyect and i got stucked,The thing is i have a form which contains a datagrid, and a group of txtboxesI load information into the datagrid through a recorset called rsservices that uses a db table in informix ( i work with adodb connection and adodb recordsets)and it works fine.Then when you click in a record into the datagrid i want it to display the information of the row selected into the textboxes , there are like 5 textboxes each one shows a different info of the same row.
ex : row = Name, last name, address, gender, id etc
but i failed doing that what I tried was, in the activated event of the form :

after i do all that and run the program the thing loads the first row into the textboxes but when i try to select another row from the datagrid it does nothing?

Sep 13, 2011there are two forms, form1 and form2. form1 has textboxes 10, the user can enter data in a specific number of textboxes: ie: 5 or 3, or etc.
then the user clicks a button, and based on the number of textboxes that he entered data on, form2 will load a number of texboxes: If the user filled 3 textboxes in form1, form2 will show 3 textboxes.

Multi-Threading On Multiple CPU
Aug 20, 2009One of our products consists of two different services:
- main service that launched at the startup of Wndows
- GUI that launched manualy when needed
GUI is representing data from main service.Main service starts X amount of threads that do some work and gether data.Some minor data and adresses to threads are stored in chache memory, so that GUI will have access to them.Everything works fine in 99% cases, but in some rare cases GUI do not display any data when used on machines with multiple processors (not milti-core). My guess is that it can't access the memory -> probably OS "decided" to run main service on one processor and GUI on another one.Is there any way to access the memory alocated for one processor from the service that runs on another processor?Or is there simple and secure way (same application will be also runing on single processor machines) to specify both services to run on the same processor?
