I am new to Visual Basic (I currently have VB 2008 Express to play with) and have a question about automating MS Access applications.I have a number of MS access applications that interact with MS Excel, Windows commands and Adobe writer.The applications have multiple forms that require input and/or selection from dropdown list which are repeated for 15 different selections manually.Rather than change the application can I write something in VB to perform the manual process of filling foelds and clicking buttons? e.g. I can open a DB, display a form and then this requires two fields to have a date input, then a new form loads and a dropdown is selected. This is used to generate a report.I can see how to run the report and load forms, but can/how do I update the fields in the form.
I have created an application using vb.net 2008 and for reports Crystal Reports Basic for Visual Studio 2008 but the problem is, when I run the application in another machine away from developing box, I get the Load report failed notice. I don't have any idea on how I should approach this issue. I tried installing the CRRedist2008_x86 and CRRedist2005_x86 but still the problem won't go away.
I simply created a "Report" folder on the the project and "crTxEmpMaster.rpt" is created on the "Report" folder.I tried load a .rpt file for Crystal Report, but it occured "Load report failed" What is wrong wth it? #1 and #2 both failed.

I have developed a windows application on vb.net 2008 and deployed it on client machine my crystal reports are configured through DSN to server everything is going fine om my development machine but on client machine producing is "Load Report failed" . I have added Reports folders and all RPT files in that folder in installation package through file system.

Everything was working fine but suddenly started getting this error. I am new in VB 2005. I have problem loading data in report viewer, data loaded successfully but it is not the current data. I am entering production details into the database (access 2007) . It will add successfully. Then I open production report there is no current updated data. It will show when I close the vb 2005 and reopen it.

Synopsis: I have a report generated from the report wizard in VB that works, but I only want to load data from the same department as the current user.
Details: The application connects to MySQL using the MySQL Connector/Net. I have a users table in the database, one of the fields is "Dept_ID." The report I currently have works loads data and everything fine, but I only want to load some of the data from the table, specifically where Dept_ID matches the current user's Dept_ID, basically adding the "WHERE" clause to the select statement.
I used the report wizard to generate the report and data table, etc, just followed from step one. I've looked around and have found something about using parameters, but can't seem to figure out how to pass a variable to the parameter, or if that is even the best option. Using the wizard, I don't have any code to show for it and the report works like it should, I just need to figure out how to configure it further.
I created a Report in Crystal Report Designer. In this report, there is a place for image. I want to insert image in the report at runtime (not desgin-time). Because in my application, there is a pool of image files from which a user can select image.Is there any function in .NET, that can insert image(.jpg) at run time in report from file

I am currently updating an application from Vs2005 to Vs2010. I'm having an issue rendering the report viewer (using SSRS 2k5) in the browser.When the report is loaded, I get bombarded with popups that say "Unable to load control". After all the popups, the report eventually load (thank god for firefox's prevent additional popup checkbox), yet none of the buttons work (each button causes the popup).
i am creating an application that i want to load a pre-designed crystal report from database records and print it in pdf format and send it as e-mail attachment. I know how to send it as an attachment but i don't know how to print it in pdf automatically for sending.
i do not know why data type image on ms sql is not working ! so i choose to use varchar(max) as my datatype to store images.. but i do now know how to load it on crystal report..
Why I've choosen this forum (VB.Net) instead of Reporting is this seems not a matter of reporting. When I load the report normally, it works fine. When I export the report to Excel, it works fine again. After that when I tried to open the report again, it gives the error : "Load Report Failed" . how I can reference a report variable in the Report Properties Code Window of a local report? I have tried Variables!Claimant.Value (for a variable called Claimant) but I get an error "Reference to a non-shared member requires an object reference." I have tried qualifying it with Report. and also with the report name in front of it but I get errors with this also.I have the variable CLaimant defined in the Variables section of the Report Properties.
I have a form that runs a report to pull info. (Not sure if this is even the correct subforum to put this on)And what this query is supposed to do pull info from combo box based on the start and ending numbers of orders for customers, but what I want to do is default the ending number to be what the starting number was as soon as the starting number is entered, but allow the user to change that if they want. I have a Worker.cs in a ZScreenLib DLL that does the following: 1. takes ZScreenGUI.cs (a Windows Form) as an argument 2. creates a Background Worker object and does everything 3. reports progress to the ZScreenGUI form via BackgroundWorker.ReportProgressThe user can create as many instances as possible of Worker.cs class and do the background worker tasks Now I need to create another Windows form called ZScreenCLI.cs and wish to make use of this Worker.cs class because ZScreenCLI and ZScreenGUI are pretty much the same but ZScreenCLI has much less features compared to ZScreenGUI. My question is, how do you manage to report progress to ZScreenCLI? The ReportProgress methods are tied with the controls in ZScreenGUI form. Obviously there is a problem with the concept I am using
