Jan 29, 2011I'm using VB.net 2010 and WPF 4. I need to have a smooth transition between two videos played on the mediaelement. I absolutely cannot use anything that requires me to use a winhost in the WPF window, as that will make my project impossible (since the video is full screen, and the controls are over the video)Basically, I need for the video to play through, and then smoothly go to another video specified in code behind. I cannot splice the two videos together - they must be separate.How do I have the videos transition smoothly, with no "blink"?

Jun 9, 2011For couple of hobby projects of mine, I've been performing form transitions (fade-in/out, slide-left/right) using timer control, and I know its not the right way to do it. Using timer has its own disadvantages as it is a CPU hog if logic is complex and also, transitions are not smooth. So, I'm wondering how can I perform form transitions without using any timers and just by using native Windows API or any third-party library. I came across with FlowFX but found that it is limited only to .NET Compact framework.

Oct 11, 2011I created a new cursor (it works properly, I tried it in windows 7) but is not working for me in the program.I took the Windows cursor (aero_helpsel_xl, from C:WindowsCursors) and it appears to me the same error.i use with this code:

edit: I realized what the problem ... It can read only cur files with 24-bit color and lower - but it shows only two colors: black and white.

Jun 14, 2009I have an app that loads a jpg into a picyure box, then updates exif data in exifworks classThe problem is that when I save the image(from image used for picture box) or class (to save exif data) then try to delete, sometimes I get success, others it won't allow delet I have gone to the trouble of using gc.collect, do events, put the delete in a timer & wait for the delete before continuing & still get the problem

Credit i cant tell you as i have a bunch of different flavors of code, but this only saves the file as a tmp file, and not the actual image file i expected after selecting?

VS 2008 - VB BITBLT Equivlant - Build Image By Opening Files With Image Data
Nov 2, 2010In VB6 you could BITBLT things around before refreshing the screen. In .NET, I'm aware of DrawImage, but that can only be done on a paint event rather than before anything gets painted. The issue I have is, I need to open several files with image data in them and then build a bigger image with those smaller images. Before I could open them, BITBLT them to a Buffer. As far as I can tell .NET offers no way to do this as the only function I've been able to find (DrawImage) only works within the paint event. Is there still a way to do this in VS08 or no?

Sep 15, 2010I have a Picturebox and a two Buttons on my Form. On click of one of the buttons I want to change the image in the picture box at runtime.
This works fine when I give the location of the image (the full path ) on my computer - but then of course it will not work if I use the solution on a different computer .
So I have made a folder named "Pics" inside my application and added two images into it.
How do I get to this local folder in the following code?

instead of the usual,

Sep 18, 2009I can't remember exactly if this is possible or not but what I am attempting I would think should theoretically be possible. I know it is possible in WPF but the company I am working for doesn't want to make the transition just yet. Basically what I want is to use a background image on a form for the background and I have a docked control on the right and left. I have set the background on both of these docked controls to transparent however it is showing the back color rather than the background image. I tried, rather than setting the background image property, to override the onpaintbackground and onpaint events and use e.graphics.draw(picture, me.clientrectangle) but it still seems to just pick up the backcolor as the true transparent background so I'm wondering if it's possible to get it to show the background image through the control rather than the backcolor of the form?
