i've been searching on the net how to do this but can't find a way. Can anyone give me an idea how can implement this?
I am in the process of developing a messaging framework for a windows application that sends messages to a java application. To be precise when the win app wants to send a message it simply drops the message in a common database table which will be picked up by the java app. The windows application is deployed across 10 application servers (10 instances) over citrix for load balancing.Each instance of the application is capable of sending a message to the java application and each of these messages should have a unique id. From my end I need to make sure every message generated has to carry a unique id so that they can be identified when necessary. All the messages can be cleared every day or two.i am not quite sure about a best method of achieving this. Initially I wanted to create a static method that serves the next available id (incrementing the last id by 1). But this approach willn't guarantee unique number as the application starts only when at least one user is logged on. For e.g .On one server the app starts when a user logs in, he then sends a message and then the application stops when that user logs off. So when a next request for the app comes to that server a new instance will be started.

I have a console application where I successfully have added custom menu item in the application's system menu using the Windows API calls. How do I hook into the events to capture the event raised when the user clicks on one of these menus? All my Google results talks about overriding the WndProc method, but this doesn't exist in a console application.

The problem am facing is when the application runs a popup message is thrown, but only after a response is given to the message box(ie clicking on any buttons in the message box) the execution continues, till then the web browser is busy waiting for a response.

The service returns ValidationFault as it should, but instead of having the error message and tag which I've defined, it uses some generic values. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

View 1 RepliesI have read the MSDN Page on how to suppress messages. I am unable to supress warnings for VS2008. [code] The problem was I had a series of parallel tasks that were dependent on check boxes. I wanted each task to to run simultaneously and then join back. I overcame the warning by using a callback method that decremented until all the call backs completed. [code] The warning was an Uninitialized Variable. Which was not the case as it was dependent on identical if-statements. I opted to use a callback method instead, which turned out to be a better alternative and did not lock up the GUI.

View 4 RepliesI've experimented a bit with async TCP socket messages between two programs, for passing data, numbers and/or text. What I've done is to use a keyword in the start of each message,and then seperate the values with the "|" character. So a message may look like this: "DATA|490|40517.9328222222|1|6|11345|11347|11344|11345|106|40517.8494212963"I set the read buffer size to 1024, as most of the messages will be within that lengthHowever sometimes I may send rapidly many short messages where several together are less than 1024 characters, and it seems then it will be read in one go. And if I send a message longer than 1024 characters, it will be split. So I'm looking for some advice on how to handle this. Should I use some special characters to start and/or end each message?

View 4 RepliesI'm Writing a program for my VET IT class at school, so other IT students dont ruin computers we have set up. the program is working great, with only one problem. the program carries out its task, even during debugging (Although it shows an error.) the problem is with windows. in order to stop users from pressing the windows key, the program turns of windows explorer when run, and turns it back off afterwards. before doing this, windows asks for permission. does anyone know how to use visual basic to automatically interact with this messagebox?i have uploaded a video showing my program in action and the problem. I basically want to implement a Label and have it constantly showing information to the user. I want to be able to do something like this:

1) I will have the database of all the systems on the network.
2) Only messages can be sent from Server to client.
3) When a message is received on client it should give a poup like our antivirus/ tool tip like thing.
4) This application should run on all the systems in background and in task-bar with an icon. PBL
