Lock Those Buttons When There's No Data In The Database?

in my form, there's a are few textbox and 2 buttons..these buttons are use to navigate data from the database..and the textboxes will display the data when the database is empty, i want those buttons to be locked..how do i type the codes???.

i am creating a system where when a command button is pressed, it adds the data corresponding to that command button to a Table of the screen. And basically im at my wits end at how to do this, i have tried using SQL and databases but all i seem to be able to do is type data into the table and this is not what i want.Basically the table has 3 columns at the moment, which are filled in column at a time, and this need to be done by pressing command buttons. To explain this basically there are 8 buttons, which can be pressed to enter into the first column, once one of these buttons is pressed and second set of buttons appear which correspond to the second column and after one of these buttons is pressed the 3rd set of buttons appears to enter into the third column.Once the last button is pressed that is the first row filled in and the user can again press a button from the first set. Its basically a system for rapidly entering data into this table through the corresponding buttons.I have the buttons appearing and all that working fine, but thats basically just the layout. I need to know how to enter the data into the table.i have to use a SQL database, i only added that as at the end of the session, the entire table of data needs to be added to a master database but i can attempt this at a later date.
I use a textbox for input unless one of the checkboxes is checked, then the textbox needs to have a value of 1 which I have working.What I need is a way to lock the textbox if the checkbox is check and allow data if it is unchecked.[code]
I have a form that cycles through a database table with next and prev buttons Database name is "China.accb" and the table is called Users Table Users has two fields, both text.One is called UserID and the otheris Password"am getting an error message when I try to click the next button that states: "Unable to cast object of type "System.String' to type System.Windows.Forms.Textbox'. I have a piece of software with two tabs, inside each tab there are buttons (the user can add the buttons when they want). when tab1 is full tab2 should start to fill. I currently know how many buttons fit on the screen so I just say something like if buttons > 150 then start to populate tab 2 The problem i have now though is if the resolution is changed then a different amount of buttons can be displayed. so if I put my screen to 1280x720 some buttons are left of. I was thinking of detecting the resolution and then using different cases for different resolutions but this seems very inefficient im wondering if there is a different way?
I have 45 buttons on a form, Button1, Button2, Button3 to Button45. Each one has to have a Button?.Text value from a database eg. Button1.Text = "Beef", Button2.Text = "Cabbage", etc. In old VB6 I could use the Index value of each button to reference it, but in VB.Net there's no Index capability.
Is there a more elegant way to populate these buttons other than having a Select Case statement from 1 to 45 as below? [code]....

Now I wanna set when user click on this button to delete a employee (for example) then the datagrid that i have in my application will not show the data of the deleted employee but in the background, the employee haven't been deleted from database.The employee only will be deleted from database when the user click on SAVE button.I know this application have to use RowState but how?
What I want to happen is that the button from my system will remove the previous data from database and then insert new data to database from text file. Im done with inserting new data. The thing is that I dont how to control or where to put the Delete Command from my code.

I have a program that connects with an access database and displayed the results of a query in a series of textbox which are created at runtime. This all seems to work but the problem is with my next, previous buttons they just dont seem to work now and they did before. There must be some kind of problem with my code.

I have two listboxes next to each other with buttons in between (<< , < , >> , >) I can get the these buttons to move the lines of code to back and forth from the listboxes, but now I need these buttons to also extract the cost of the item and add the cost to a total cost label.[code]...
I have built a matrix style controlboard ( many pictureboxes used as buttons) To call on a simple database. Being a beginner, I have not yet found any code for doing a query of sunh simple nature as this database. The Northwind samples are far more complex than what i have, but this is my main program, the reason I got into VB in the first place. 2 pictureboxes say PB1 & PB2. PB @ ontop of PB1. PB2 is invisible, but blocks view of PB1. Clickon 2, & it Hides(). Click on 1, & 2 Shows(). a simple math control box counts the events & turns the group inputs into binary output... 4textboxes per group is the way I chose Ther are roughly 200 pairs of these sporadically placed, this is just 1 pair. Textbox 16, & 18=0 @ form load 17 fixed ="1" 15 sets of these, TextBox42= binary value. This is the one that triggers the events for column "C" in the database. ( Their not in perfect order)
Anyway, this is where I need to get information tfrom the database to the listbox, heres that situation: Database has simply named columns A,B,C,D,E,F, G, H, ect.. Then the rows are equally simplistic row, rowB, rowC,..Any combination is represented here, Each row has several, but not all of the columns values. Since if only 2, or 3 of the variables clicked can = several different groups, a multiple reurn to the listbox is nessessary. I seen some code in an exercise that I think will do that, but how do I query the database to start the listbox load? The lesson shows a completely different situation for loading the listbox, but I think I can amend that easily enough. I just can't ask the simple question to the database.
Question is, if picturebox related to column "C" is clicked, how do I call the group names ( rows ) of those positive in Column "C" to the listbox? The Database is litterally that simple. Just 1 situation of columns & rows, not mutiple as in the lessons. If anything, I fear I'm too much a simpleton. I have added the PB's code
I am building a program that does inventory control. I have multiple forms connected to same database. One of the forms I have a search function. When I was using the controls at the top of the page, it was working. I added buttons for the controls and now the database wont store anything. I can open the input form and I can add multiple inputs, close the form, open it back up, and nothing left in the database. I have also noticed that my database icon in the data source has a small red X in it. When I click on the icon, it is showing the db as closed. I can refresh it and it opens, until I run the program and it closes.
I am using a datapager inside a nested Listview succesfully. When only one record of data is available the next previous last and first buttons are faded as per normal. However I would like them to not appear at all.

However the pager is always nothing in the debugger i.e it can't find the control.This may be because I have not selected the event handler correctly (I've tried several) or the method may be wrong.
I have two buttons: show button and next button. I want the show button to show the first result and then for every click of the next button, I want to go the the next result. Now the number of rows returned is 5. But on clicking the show button I can see only the last row in the textbox's. Then how to see the first row by clicking the show button? And how to see all rows one after another by clicking the next button? I need to use: dr.NextResult() to loop through the fetched data. But I cant place it properly in the next button code. How to do the code for show and next button to get the desired result?

I have a Data Repeater in a Windows Form, within the data repeater I have a label and either a radio button or combo box, the amount of radio buttons and the text for them is brought in from my database as is the label and combo box.
The label is a question and the radio buttons or combo box allows the user to answer the question.
What I want to do is get the checked status of the radio buttons so I can then reveal the next question if it is needed. e.g. only show question 2 if question 1 is answered No.
What I would like to do is to have four different buttons (e.g., buttonA, buttonB, buttonC and button D). I wanna give the following instruction to the people: press these buttons in the following order: first buttonA, then buttonB, then buttonC and last buttonD. If they obey this instruction then a picture will be displayed, for instance a happy face. All the other combinations will not activate this picture to be displayed, or in other words, there won't be any consequence. I would also like to save this data using windows note pad e.g., writeline (1, xxxxxx). Is there any chance I will make it?
I have a database, added in data sources. I can manage records with automatically generated database toolbar.I want buttons for Add, Replace, Erase data from Database. So far i've seen some Tutorials but they are most likely for VB6 and also i'm really new on VB at all.

i need to get some buttons to interact with other buttons on screen when i click then, as each indivual button gives a slightly different result.imagine this:[code]....
then i need then to hide different buttons depending on which button was pressed. so say i pressed button 1 then all the buttons showed but alternativly if i had of pressed 2 then say button 5 and 6 disapear.managed to get one way to work but then i would only ever end up with the first results every time.
