Compile As X64 - Attempt To Load Assembly With Incorrect Format

Jul 16, 2010

I have a strange problem in my VB.NET project when I want to compile it as x64. If I set the target CPU to Any CPU, it will be fine and on x64 systems it will run as x64. But if I set the target CPU to only x64, my project will show up some error/warnings and won't compile at all, here are them:

Error 1 : An attempt was made to load an assembly with an incorrect format
Warning 2 : Possible problem detected while building assembly 'x': Referenced assembly 'mscorlib.dll' targets a different processor
Warning 3 : Possible problem detected while building assembly 'x': Referenced assembly 'System.Data.dll' targets a different processor
Warning 4 : Possible problem detected while building assembly 'x': Referenced assembly 'System.EnterpriseServices.dll' targets a different processor

This is very strange, those are system assemblies and my project is .NET Framework 2.0. How they can run when my application is set to any CPU but not at x64 only?!

"Incorrect Format" Reference Error While Building Web Deployment Project In TeamCity

Nov 17, 2010

I began setting up a TeamCity server a couple days ago for use in automated testing and CI. We mainly do VB.net web apps and up until now, it had been checking out things and building just fine.

A problem came up when I tried to add actual deployment into the mix. I saw this article: [URL]

referenced all over the place as a good guide, so I followed the steps relating to setting up a Web Deployment project and rigging TeamCity to run it. Basically, it recommends setting up a new build configuration in VS2010 called "Deployment" which builds the Web Deployment project, then creating a build configuration in TC that targets it.

The issue is that the web deployment project won't compile when run under TeamCity. The regular build works just fine, but if I set MSBuild to use the build configuration that includes the Web Deployment project, it crashes halfway through and gives an error about attempting to load the System.Data.OracleClient assembly in an incorrect format. I assume this means a 32-bit/64-bit error, especially since my development machine is a 32-bit box, and the build server is 64, but I don't know why this is happening, especially when the regular build works, and nothing in my project involves using an Oracle database.

I saw in the log that there's a warning about missing reference assemblies for the 4.0 framework, so I headed off to the MS website and downloaded the SDK, but that didn't change anything. At this point, I'm stuck, and I didn't see anything already here on Stack Overflow that looked quite like this. I'll attach the log below. Have I missed something simple?

[10:46:05]: Project "MyTools.sln.teamcity.patch.tcprojx" (TeamCity_Generated_Build target(s)):
[10:46:05]: [Project "MyTools.sln.teamcity.patch.tcprojx" (TeamCity_Generated_Build target(s)):] Project "MyTools.sln" (Rebuild target(s)):

Asp.net - Error - Incorrect Syntax Near The Keyword 'IS'

Feb 10, 2012

I've got a GridView. My SelectCommand in the code works if I copy and paste it into SQL Server Management Studio. It executes fine.If I run the page and click Edit for any row I get the error:

"Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'IS'."

I've tried to see what's going on using SQL Server Profiler. Here's what the SelectCommand looks like and what SQL is receiving...

SelectCommand from supplies.ascx
SELECT some stuff FROM here WHERE (this IS NULL) and (that=1) ORDER BY this DESC
SQL Server Profiler reports
SELECT some stuff FROM here (this IS NULL) and (that=1) ORDER BY this DESC

I didn't put any code here because I'm not really sure what would be relevant and didn't want to load up the post with unnecessary lines of code.

<asp:GridView ID="GridView1" runat="server" AutoGenerateColumns="False" DataKeyNames="fldSupReqID"
DataSourceID="SqlDataSource1"
EmptyDataText="There are no data records to display." AllowSorting="True"

Unknown Error Causing End Result To Be Incorrect

Mar 15, 2012

I've been programming a game recently and didn't want to make 99 weapons manually. I've tried making a loop do this for me. I've got the loop working, everything is perfect. But when I run the program and list all the Weapon(x).Name [x being any value between 0 & 99] they are all identical... HOWEVER. If I single step through the code it lists all the names from 0 to 99 perfectly fine. Why is it that single stepping through it produces what I want?

Private Sub CreateWeaponList()
Dim StatName(4) As String 'Creating 4 pre-made names for weapons
Dim WeaponName(4), RandomWeaponName As String 'Creating 4 more pre-made names for weapons

Save The Exception In The Database - Incorrect Syntax Error In Sql Query

Jun 11, 2011

i am having an sql query in catch block. the code is: Dim str_exception As String = ex.Message Dim sql5 As String = "insert into table_data(type,description) values

('ERROR'," + str_exception + ")" Dim cmd_sql5 As New SqlCommand(sql5, connection)cmd_sql5.ExecuteScalar() it throws an exception at cmd_sql5.ExecuteScalar().

the exception is - incorrect syntax near 'records'. i tried adding single quotes like'incorrect syntax near 'records' .' .but still it is giving me the same error. I think it is because of the quotes near records. this exception is thrown somewhere else in the code and then it comes to cath block. i want to save the exception in the database.
