I was asked to make an application that zooms an image in and out. It sound easy but here's the twist: the image must not lose it's quality. The image must still be the same and not pixelated (meaning the pixels are not visible when you zoom it in). Would you guys please help me out. What should I do? I need to finish the project in order for me to graduate this March.

Basically, I want PictureBox1 to zoom in on a certain location of a form.
Like this
PictureBox zooms in on part of the form.
NO I dont want it to change a fixed zoomed in image so dont tell me to zoom it in and put a fixed imaged. As the image i wanted zoomed in constantly changes.
P.S This example isn't my form, just an example
Just to make it clear, I want my pictureBox to zoom in on a different part of the form. The image is on a part of a WebBrowser.
In VB.Net with Winforms how do I make an image follow the cursor even when it leaves the form? I want to do this during a drag and drop operation. BCL and/or GDI is better for my usecase than P/Invokes.
If you are familiar with PeaZip, it does something of this sort when dragging a file from it's interface.

View 1 RepliesI made a picture box and imported an image named Title.jpg. Later I made adjustments to the picture and imported it again without deleting the original(mistake). The new one had the name automatically changed to Title1.jpg. So I deleted the original image from resources and renamed Title1.jpg back to Title.jpg.
Now I got two problems. First, only Title.jpg is on the solution explorer, but Title1.jpg(along with Title.jpg) still pops up on the resource list when I click on Image property of the picture box. There's only the name and no picture, and I don't see a delete option. How do I get rid of it? Second, even though I changed the image to the new Title.jpg in the picture box, the old one is displayed when running the app. What's up with that?
i have a image with four squares evenly spaced out. I want a picturebox's image to be one of the squares at a time so it's like a animation except it's only one image.

This works fine when I give the location of the image (the full path ) on my computer - but then of course it will not work if I use the solution on a different computer .
So I have made a folder named "Pics" inside my application and added two images into it.
How do I get to this local folder in the following code?

View 1 Repliesis it possible to make one application send a task to another application and recieve the result from that secondary app?i made a text editor program and i added a scan feature and i made another app that has ocr capabilities.The scanner ability is in my text editor program, the ocr program doesnt scan you have to input an image into it and it will give text result a few seconds later.the prob is alot of times the ocr code uses sooo much memory and crashes when its incorporated with my text editor, but individually each application works fine and doesnt take too much memory. Memory wont be even an issue if the ocr program is standalone so that when it is done decoding image the application can be made to exit. now here is the question, how do i make my text editor send the image to the ocr program and how do i make my ocr program send the text back to my text editor? is it possible? i mean the only way i know off is creating temp files in a certain folder and having a timer on each program that keeps waiting for temp files. That just seems like pretty lame coding to me i was wondering if there's a better way?

I have been trying to reference Application.ThreadException in my application to make an addhandler, but I also am using imports growl.connector which has a growl.connector.application method. When I create my addhandler:AddHandler Application.ThreadException, AddressOf ThreadExceptionHandler
And I get "ThreadExecption is not an event of 'growl.connector.application'"

View 7 Replies I have a background image and i'm trying to make a custom gui for the app, which goes around the image, and of course its an irregular shape, so i thought that i could use the region and so i used several ellipses and the i tried to add a rectangle but the parts that overlap invert the path therefor the part that overlaps is now transparent and not part of the window.
What I would like to do is get some examples of using all the curves, lines... and be able to make one region that is connected with all those paths that are made.
I need to make a greyscale image from an array. The array is 120 * 30.
Each pixel needs to be 1*4 in size producing a final image of 120 * 120.
For my own amusement more than anything I am trying to create a program that has a world map then when you click on each country it leads to another form. At the moment I have the World Map as a background image on a forum, The only way I can think of at the moment is to have picture boxes but the countries are too packed together for this to work effectively and I believe that you can have transparent backgrounds on picture boxes.

I'm trying to make an image in a picturebox transparent, so that i can see and click the controls behind it in the transparent area. This reason for this is that i'm trying to make a hexagonal grid that needs each cell to work independantly of each other when clicked, and needs to include a changing image. I'm trying to do this with pictureboxes, but even though i've made the GIF images i'm using transparent in photoshop, They aren't displayed as such in design view or at runtime, as the corners stay grey.
