I want to make an if statement inside a button. So basically its this Private sub Button1_Click ....

How would I do this because I can't seem to solve it with any code of mine, i searced through all the allowed values that vb offers and nothing ...
I'm building a listview search feature in my app. (See the code below). It works really well, except if you search "T" then the code removes all items, if you search "t" then it removes every item except for those starting with "t". Is there any way to make a 'like' statement, or use some kind of wildcard to make the statement not case sensitive?

I am needing a way that an if statement stored inside of an array can be executed.I am designing an application that will allow users to input if statements that will be used to determine if certain values are met. The input is saved to an array that I need to be executed later. Is this possible in Visual Basic?

Basically I am trying to update each record with 2 random numbers each time the button was clicked,my problem now is, the system will update the record but the data was wrong. Example, by right all data should be different (randomly string) but for some row it was updated with same data but in randomly, something row1 row2 row3 has exactly same data for column 1 and 2 then row 3 has distinct data, second time, row1 row2 same data row3 ro4 with different data. It is in random sequence. When I add a MsgBox to do testing in the For loop the data was updated correctly with all different data.
I know that if i have a using block like

myresource will be disposed .
But if my using block is
using myresource
return myresource
end using
Will myresource be disposed?
I am wondering if a similar using block is causing memory lead in the app.

I believe there wont be any diff if user clicks the button on the form and the click event is fired OR if we call the button click event / function in the code. Because in one my project, this does make diff. If I click the button on the form, the App works great but same button if I click it thru the form code, the whole process crashes. This happens in Vista / VB.net.

Is it possible to do the same thing in VS2008 so that the debugger will stop on any error even if it happens inside a try-catch statement?

I have a button on my asp.net page that (upon mouseover) needs to act like a hyperlink (the hand cursor). I cannot use a linkbutton because I need the GUI of a regular asp:button.

I need to perform a calculation based on the idea that the user will select the operation, which is in this label lblOperation. The two numbers, num1 and num2, come from lblNum1 and lblNum 2, which are randomly generated. How can I change the statement to say lblCorrect.Text = the value of num1 and num2 where the operation performed is whatever operation the user chooses from lblOperation.Text? I've got a button inside a gridview to remove that item from the gridview (its datasource is a list). I've got the list being saved to session anytime a change is being made to it, and on page_load check if that session variable is empty, if not, then set that list to bind to the gridview.

View 2 Repliesi'm creating 64 button dynamically during run time. and from database i'm getting the description, font color, back color and picture path. and if the picture path is not nothing, then i need to display that picture in that button. if picture path is nothing, then need to display the description as button text using font color and back color.
this button values are not loaded only once. using button click Addhandler, each button values keeps on changing each time.

while i run the program, the image is diplaying in correct button if picture path exist and button that didn't have the picture path is displaying the text.
but the image is not fitting inside the Button. i can see only half of the image. i need a way to make the Image stretched or reduced to fit inside button.
Here is the asp code for the design, I have a gridview that lists all Leave dates selected w/ 2 radio buttons . The user may choose if it is for whole day or halfday which are represented by a radio button. I want to get the value of each row if the user wants half day or whole day for me to calculate the leave days.
-I can already get the value but on the first 5 rows only since my gridview is paged with paging size of 5. how can i get the value for the other items if I have more than 5?

How do i click a button, preform some if statements (if it matches, exit...) else keep looping (clicking the button)...How do i do this within the web browser controlormal loop won't work because the web browser executes the statement multiple times before completing and i can't figure out how to make it loop until a condition is met without freezing the program.

I am then takeing the column headings and creating buttons. I am having difficulty with getting the buttons to auto size in order to fit all of the text that is being displayed within the button. I am able to create the new buttons and display them where I want but they are either way to large for the text that has been placed in them or to small.

I have a WinForms application (VS 2008, .NET 3.5) that has a form with two different group boxes, and inside of each group box are different sets of radio buttons. When I run the application, the first group box automatically has the first radio button in it already selected, and the second group box does not have a radio button selected by default.
I have looked through all the properties of the radio buttons and the group boxes, and cannot figure out what the difference is between the two.I would like both group boxes to have all radio buttons unselected when the form is first opened.Also, I looked through the Designer.vb file for the form, and could not find anything unusual going on in there either.
I created a function that retrieves information on which checkboxes are checked. It returns an array which the information coupled to the checking of those checkboxes. Those checkboxes and the matching textboxes are dynamically created at runtime in that same function. I'm pausing the application to wait for a button to be pressed. I'm trying to find a way to use btnDone.Click event directly because the code always reloops my function once more recreating the controls.
