Make The Controls Stack And Fill Up The Available Space Left By A Control If The Control Is Hidden Or Removed From The UltraGridBagLayoutPanel?
Sep 8, 2011
I am wondering if anyone has any idea how to make the controls stack and fill up the available space left by a control if the control is hidden or removed from the UltraGridBagLayoutPanel.
If I hide [Textbox 3] as of now, it will disperse the space left equally and pad the remaining text boxes with the space. However, I would like it to do this...
[Textbox 1]
[Textbox 2]
[Textbox 4]
[Textbox 5]
Where all the text boxes will move up and [Textbox 4] will completely consume the space left by [Textbox 3].
We are developing an application that looks like this: Mainwindow - PaneGroup - Pane
What we want to do is add a handler (AddHandler Pane, AddressOf MethodName) on the mainwindow and throw the event in the Pane. When we want something to change on a collection in the mainwindow, we throw that event in the Pane.
My question is if the pane is removed from the panegroup (doesn't exist anymore), does that handler still live on the mainwindow?
I created a textbox control on a form and I gave some integer value to it from runtime but after sometime i removed it from design and code also.. But when I run program its still showing with that integer value. So what should I do. How should I remove that control?
I have a form with a 4 page tab control. Each page of the tag control has components on them(texboxes, comboboxes, etc). Is there a simple way to make all the controls except the tab control read only or non-modifiable?
I want a list of all controlls in my project, not only on open forms. The reason is that i want to make an access control, and the admin will set which buttons each users can use.
What ive got so far is:
HTML
Public Sub getallforms(ByVal sender As Object) Dim Forms As New List(Of Form)() Dim formType As Type = Type.GetType("System.Windows.Forms.Form")
[CODE]...
This shows me all forms in project. But i cant access their controls.
Basically, my program will try to generate the list of all possible lowercase 5-letter words. Including all combinations that clearly are not real words like jshcc or mmdzq.
I do that by stacking up a massive amount of calls for a function, which does the word work.
But that's simply too much, and I get a stack overflow error.
if you 'slide' a control to the right or bottom of the form, it acts as it should, if you try it with the top or left, the position values change but their still appear to be stuck at the left or top of the screen. how do i make it so they can 'slide' off the form like you can with the bottom and right of the form
In the context of the CLR in .NET how is stack space allocated and what is it typically limited by? For example: Can any given thread continue to add to the stack until memory runs out? If not; how does the CLR decide how much space to allocate and can it change its mind?
PS: Just to put some context on it this all started from a discussion on how to build a method that will calculate the Fibonacci sequence and one of the suggestions was a recursive function.
I have a query about dynamically added controls to a form. I have a series of buttons which are created and added at run time. I have a two drop down lists and two buttons which are created at design time. Button 1 creates a series of buttons called "Test 1.x" based upon the selection of the two drop down lists. This works fine and am happy with the logic.However.... Button two should remove all the dynamically created buttons from the form. This does not happen. What does happen is that 50% of the buttons are removed starting with the first one. WHen checking the loop it only enters the loop half the amount of times that there are buttons. Very strange. When the loop is run repeatability it will remove all controls. Why will my logic not remove all the dynamically created controls at once? What is wrong with my logic?
I attach two code snippets and the .net file for your consideration.Button method which creates the dynamically created buttons from the two drop down lists and adds to form
Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click Dim Count As Integer Dim MaxHours As Integer
Im tryingto create/run a webbrowser control so that i can check the status. I dont need to see the page so havent placed the webbrowser control on a form - its just in code as follows:
Sub TestBrowse(ByVal url As String) Dim testbrowse As New WebBrowser testbrowse.Navigate(url)
[code]....
the problem is that it never initialises and is always at the state 'Uninitialized' do i have to do something to the control to get it to run, or does it have to be physically on a form before i can use a web browse control.

I am trying to use the Web Browser control in my vb .net user control. I am using VS 2008. Finally, I will be calling my assembly (.dll) from a web page. I wanted to display the usercontrol with the web browser control inside this web page. The problem is I cannot proceed since the Web browser control cannot be called from a partially trusted assembly. Using VS 2008 I have created a strong name for my class, also added the <Assembly: AllowPartiallyTrustedCallers()> to the AssemblyInfo. But still the web browser control cannot be seen in my web page. Do you how I can make my assembly fully trusted so that it can access web browser control? If you have used web browser control, can you confirm if this step is really required?!
I am upgrading from Access 2003 to Access 2007. I found this page on the MSDN library http:[url]....Some of my code uses some of these properties that according to this page are "hidden" in 2007. So exactly what does "hidden" mean? Does this mean I can still set these properties in code or does this mean that Microsoft has not fully removed them but their functionality is dormant in Access 2007?
I'm trying to make a label control transparent over a Panel control. However by setting the background colour of the label to Transparent, it actually sees right through to the form itself, not the panel as intended.
As an example we use a panel with a background as white, we make the label transparent, however it gets the forms colour as blue. However, we are using a custom panel control and need the label to be transparent over the panel and not see the forms background.
1) How can I make the text in RTB control to change without clicking on it (RTB control) again? I notice that the event handler is mousedown so its only occurs whenever the users clicks on the controls. But I really have no idea how to do that. Anyone can guide me how to do that???
2) How to make the RTB's Back Color to transparent??? Cause it is not supported. Or is it I use the wrong control???

I've created another header row for a gridview programmatically. In this row I have a few controls including a label that I want to align all the way to the left of the cell. The one cell has a columnspan of 7 so it runs across the entire gridview. how do i align that label programmatically?
Dim cell As New TableCell Dim lblfilter As New Label Dim row As New GridViewRow(-1, -1, DataControlRowType.Header, DataControlRowState.Normal)

Normally I can get the webbrowser control in my vb.net application to scroll using the following code after the webpage loads into the webbrowser control: WebBrowserPageView.Document.Window.ScrollTo(50, 50)
But when the webpage uses the dom to update the page after the page loads, the scroll bars will scroll for half a moment to 50,50 but then snap back to 0,0.
I want to make 5 attachment options in that 4 out of the 5 are hidden.but when he clicks "more attachment" link it will show the other 4.Im using ASP.NET with VB?
is there any way to stretch a datagrid's control columns so they would take all the space width of the form?I can set datagrid's dock property to bottom so it will take all the bottom by height but the right side of the data grid will stay empty which is not good.If I set datagrid's dock property to right it jumps all over the form...So I need a way to fill up my datagrid's bottom and right (width) side so I would not have empty space.
I recently came across the AsyncFileUpload control in the latest (3.0.40412) release of the ASP.Net Ajax Control Toolkit. There appears to be an issue when using it in a hidden control that is later revealed, such as a <div> tag with visible=false.
I have a breakpoint on the UploadedComplete event but it never fires. However, if you take the AsyncFileUpload control out of the <div>, making it visible at initial page render, the control works as expected.
So, is this a bug within the AsynchUploadControl, or am I not grasping a fundamental concept (which happens regularly)?
I have a maximized form that has controls at the top of it and a large DataGridView that is docked below all the controls. Its kind of like the Ribbon in MS Office. The controls cover about 1/4 of the screen at the top. I would like a way for the user to click a button to hide all the controls then automatically expand into the place the controls were so the user can view more data in the DataGridView and visa versa. For example, in MS Office Excel you can hide the ribbon by clicking a tiny button that has "^" on it.
I'm not very familiar with all the controls in Visual Studio so I would like to hear some recommendations. Is this situation ideal for a SplitContainer or ToolStripContainer or am I way off base here?
I have a lot of buttons on a form (144) that need to be removed. All their names begin with "R". So I used this piece of code.
Sub RemoveBookingButtons() Dim cntrl As Control
[CODE]........................
However whenever I run this sub function, it deletes every other button starting with "R". better code or point out if the flaw is in that piece of code or it is hidden somewhere else in my program?
