If I have a list of list of myparams, can I access the sub structure of my params directly by indexing the list emelments?, eg..structure myparamsdim p1dim p2end structurepublic my_list as new list(of list(of myparams)))' now try to access list data directly by indexing..my_list(2)(3).param2 = 3but line above cuses error msg= Error 1 Expression is a value and therefore cannot be the target of an assignment!VB2005 starter
I want the Function to accept List(Of String), Array & String and similarly return List(Of String), Array & String respectively. The Function simply adds a string (month) to the input collection. I just want to use it for string, array and list with needing to think of conversions.
I am trying to make a format string to order a list in richtextbox. I already done this, however not as I like to.
So I want this symbol: <-- symbol And I only have got other symbol that I can't tell you guys which is. The code that I use is:
"{\rtf1\ansi\deff0\deftab720{\fonttbl{\f0\fswiss MS Sans Serif;}{\f1\froman\fcharset2 Symbol;}{\f2\froman\fprq2 Times New Roman;}{\f3\fnil\fprq2\fcharset2 Wingdings;}}" & vbCrLf & _
I am trying to make an application which will list all processes in a string when it starts. After it has listed them all I enable my timer, and in the timer there gets checked if the process is in the process list (string), and if it isn't it will add it to my listbox. The only problem is, it's not working, it's never adding an item.
vb.net
Public Class Form1 Dim AllProcesses As String Private Sub Form1_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load 'The first check For Each p In System.Diagnostics.Process.GetProcesses() If AllProcesses = "" Then AllProcesses = p.ProcessName Else AllProcesses += "|" + p.ProcessName End
In a list(of structure), i constantly have to modifiy the property of items using this code
Private Sub ChangeState(ByVal ww As WebWorker, _ ByVal NewState As WorkerState) Dim oWBB As WebWorker = ListWebWorkers.Find(Function(item As WebWorker) item.Browser.Name.ToLower = [code].....
But this give problem when two or more of the items call this sub procedure. in that one item may already have been removed. This code is executed in the ui thread, and has to be.so is there a better way to modify the items in list structure?
I have a user defined structure in a list that I am trying to change the value for in an individual element within the list of structures. Accessing the element is not a problem. However, the compiler complains
"Expression is a value and therefore cannot be the target of the assignment"when I try to update the value. For example:
Public Structure Person Dim first as String Dim last as String Dim age as Integer
I have a question that I really hope someone can shed some light on for me, as this is driving me crazy trying to figure this out. Consider this code..
'declare and allocate Dim lstNumbers As New List(Of Integer) Dim nCount As Integer
I have a .txt file i want to read that has states by abbreviation and states by name. In that text file some are territories and some are states.
I want to read from that file and put the abbreviations into one structure array and the states into another structure array.
I then want to lookup up the states by abbreviation or state name. The lookup will simply be selected by a radio button which will flag either the states full name array, or the abbreviation array.
all I have is the structures created:
Public Class Form1 Structure Lookup Dim Abbreviation As String
[Code]....
How can I read from the .txt file and store into an array
I have a class (using a class rather than a structure only because I can set a default field value for the fields I declare in the class) and I'm using a web service that returns information (demographic information) in JSON. I am using LINQ to get the values of each "entry" from the returned list and in that, I have to parse through and pull out the actual data that I want. Here's how I have it doing right now (just a start, there are 44 of them total, thus my question which will follow the code):
Dim returnedStats = From ljo As Linq.JObject In returnedObject.SelectToken("results") ' ' For Each stat As Linq.JObject In returnedStats
It's my first time playing with the DataGridView properly and I've hit a little snag...I need to display data in a DataGridView for ease of viewing, and I have a list of all the data. It's a list (of a structure), and I've got no idea how to do this. I can set the datasource as the list, but that doesn't work. I've read up on the topic but don't really understand. Am I forced to use classes not structures in this instance?
I am having some trouble using Refelction to list the properties of a user defined structure. I need to get a list of the properties and their values.[code]
I'm able to create a List(Of String) containing a local directory structure of a LOCAL folder. I'm wondering how I would go about getting this structure for a website, in order to get a listing of all files of a particular type (for example: all .html files)
Something along the lines of what Xenu does would be perfect, but I don't know how to get started. I was thinking of doing something with parsing out "/" of the URL, but then you'd need to know the "deepest" file that exists on the site.. which you won't know...
Is there a way to get a folder listing of each directory of a site without having FTP access or something? (I'm assuming no due to security risks)
My only other option would be to crawl all hyperlinks within the site, and storing all the "internal" ones, but I don't know how to set up that loop, or how to know when it has reached the "deepest" level.
Kinda like when you delete a remote folder from FileZilla, it will traverse all sub-diretories first and delete those files.
I'm using a Listview in VirtualMode, so I can 'add' a lot of files almost instantly. A Listview in VirtualMode does not allow sorting, so I need to sort the data myself. The data is stored as a List of Structure (it's faster to load than a List of ListViewItem). The code below works fine, but I need to sort based on multiple variables in the Structure. Code:
how to make a new structure somewhat, but what I need to know is how I can do something like, GetItemByName without having to do a loop when I have a list of my structure type. What I mean by this is if I had a structure like this:
writing an XML-formatted string so that I may later encrypt it.If I create an XMLDocument,it will insert its formatting tag <?xml version="1.0" encoding="Windows-1252"?> and I need to avoid this.I'm not very familiar with streams, or how to output an XMLWriter to one.
i have a given table structure with some data inside. Here is the database model: Database Model..In the TBL_SCENARIO Table a user can store an unlimited number of scenarios. In the TBL_EVENTS can each scenario have an unlimited number of so called Events like risks. The TBL_EVENT_DATA Table stores now for each day and for each event in a scenario the value min and max.I would like to edit a scenario with its events (! not an single) in a GridView Control. Is this possible? I would like to have the rows as days and the columns (2columns for one event) as min max value for the events. So is it possibel, when i have 5 events, have these in 10 columns (2 columns for each event [min] and [max] and then the days as rows?
I have a string: Dim strXMLTags As String = "<tags><test>1</test></tags>" And I want to verify that all opening tags have a closing tag in the proper place. So if I put the previous string through, it'd work. However, if I put: Dim strXMLTags As String = "<tags><test>1</test>" Then I want it to give me an error. Is there an XML structure checker or something of the sorts? Or should I just try and load it to an XML document and if it errors then, then I know.
I have masked textboxes which occasionally have numeric input that contains zeros. I copy the input to an instance of a structure (that is, to a string property of the structure), and the input--if it has zeros--tends to lose those zeros. For example, if I have "9034040," and place it to the string, it actually become "9 34 4 " with spaces in place of those zeros.
