Is it possible to have a Msgbox without a button on it in a console application. I would like to have a msgbox pop up and then disappear when the task has been completed. Or could I send the msgboxresult to some form of window that would just disappear when the file has been written? [code]

I have been trying to make it open another application which spawns the messageboxes, but then every message box comsumes ~4MB RAM which becomes a problem when to many gets opened.

You might assume this may not be the most legal application. I have already figured out how to delete directories due to this MSDN post. My code is near the exact same.

This is no problem I've got that all working perfectly, the only problem I have is that the console is showing while the application is running, I was wondering whether anyone knows any way in which I would be able to hide the console before it gets shown to the user.

I have all of the code written but when I run the program it pops up the console window and then immediatley exits so I am unable to read what is in the window to see if my program is operating correctly. What I'm really doing is trying to do a matrix effect on my form background, by drawing symbols and moving them, alternating their colors (see this video for what I mean).
Is there a way to do this effectively with a timer and a draw event, with the timer calling the draw event and changing the intervals?

User may press yes to proceed with saving the record or no to get back to the form. But if no is pressed frmCompany closes along with the msgbox.

I am creating a function and want to have IntelliSense pop down the list of valid options for a certain parameter in the same way that the MsgBox function behaves when you are typing your argument for which buttons you wish to include (such as MsgBoxStyle.OkCancel). I have done my best to search the internet but haven't found a thing which comes close to what I'm seeking. My monkeying around hasn't produced a satisfactory solution, yet, either.

I have a background thread that checks software updates available and few other things. If there is an update it shows a msgbox do you want to update. Since this is in another thread its not being application modal. I can still use form screen enter text to textboxes.I thougth of moving the msgbox out side the thread but then i need to do some amount changes in my code.
View 2 RepliesI have a web application based on vb.net.I used MsgBox() in my MYPage.aspx.vb where my expectation is that the user on client should click on a button and based on it I would process further.But I heard a suggestion the MsgBox() is working fine in my code cause on developer machine(my dev box) webserver is running locally. This does not work on a remote web server or in any hosted environment outside of a local server.

I have found some examples of looking for the MsgBox to pop-up (by watching for the Window title) and then sending key(s) to press OK, but I was curious if the whole process could be avoided. Otherwise, the user still sees a MsgBox or a "flash", even if it's only temporary.

View 1 RepliesWe currently have +- 20 different console application developed in VS2008 and running at different scheduled intervals, all controlled by Windows schedular. The problem we have come accross is that it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage and maintain these console apps. In some instances a console app will just fail or never run to start with and this creates a lot of problems. In many cases one console app is dependant on another and if 1st one fails well...you see where this is going.
I am looking for a new solution that will help us to trace, debug and manage these console apps better. We are preferably looking for a gui front end, maybe windows app where we can set the intervals for them to sun and view some error reports if they did not run.We are port all the code for the console apps to which ever new appliocation we develop.
if its possible to have a msgbox cleared without having the user do it manually? what would be my best option here?
