Parsing Multi-line Clipboard Text Into A Single Line And Pasting Into A Textbox?
Feb 7, 2011a user copies multiple lines of text (say, from an email) into the clipboard. Based on my observations, when one tries to paste the text into a single-line textbox, only the first line is actually pasted in. (I am aware that the "obvious" solution would be to set the Multiline property to True, but there are reasons I am looking to avoid this and to put multi-line data into a single line.)
In the TextChanged event handler, I wrote code that parses the clipboard data to successfully convert it to a single-line, comma-delimited format.

Feb 28, 2010So what happens is. I have this JAVA Code which i am making out of a vb form to help me develop quicker in that. So, when i click "Button1" a formula enhances and gives an output "TEXT" Which i want to choose what lines it shows on my "MultiLine Textbox".
Basically, How do i make it so when i click a BUTTON a text is written in a MULTILINE-TEXTBOX which i get to choose which bits of the text goes on which line.

Aug 13, 2010I have several multi-line textboxes that I want to lose focus (i.e. when the user presses the right arrow key) but the control wil not relinquish the focus.Simply put, I first verify if the selection start is at the end of the text, if it is, and the user presses the arrow key, it should move to the next textbox. some debug.print code placed in strategic locations indicates that the target textbox gets focus and immediately loses it and the source textbox gains focus once again. Essentially not allowing the textbox to lose focus.

After changing the source textbox multi-line property to false, it behaves as expected. Is this a "feature" .. surely I don't have to resort to "SendKeys"

Mar 30, 2010I have form with a button and when the button is clicked it opens another form called form2.
On the form2 load event I'm grabbing some info from form1 and loading a crystal report and passing the report some parameters , then printing the report. Once the report is sent to the printer the form is closed.
Can I put this process on a background worker to improve the printing performance of my program and could someone point me in the right direction for doing this? I've found some examples online but I lack the vision to see how those examples could work for me.

Jul 23, 2009how to re-write my application (http:[url]....) to be multi-threaded using the background worker. The use case is something like:
1. User opens a binary file, it can be several Gbytes in size so reading it into memory isn't practical.
2. User can then navigate through the file in 188byte chunks, data is read from disk, decoded, and displayed for each chunk in turn.
3. User may want to search for some data or build a report. This will involve repeating the read, decode, display, function multiple times. During this looping the GUI stops responding and there is no option to cancel so I want to make it multi-threaded. So, is it safe to open the file in the GUI thread and then read from the file in the background thread? I currently use something like this to open the file once:

Transparent Controls Over Form With Background Image Shows Backcolor Not Image?
Sep 18, 2009I can't remember exactly if this is possible or not but what I am attempting I would think should theoretically be possible. I know it is possible in WPF but the company I am working for doesn't want to make the transition just yet. Basically what I want is to use a background image on a form for the background and I have a docked control on the right and left. I have set the background on both of these docked controls to transparent however it is showing the back color rather than the background image. I tried, rather than setting the background image property, to override the onpaintbackground and onpaint events and use e.graphics.draw(picture, me.clientrectangle) but it still seems to just pick up the backcolor as the true transparent background so I'm wondering if it's possible to get it to show the background image through the control rather than the backcolor of the form?

Feb 19, 2011what I am trying to accomplish worked with the code in the last thread I posted a while back. I still am using this code, however, I changed the window size to work better and gave it a nicer background for the title screen of my project. Now what I am working on at the moment is making a settings form that has 2 labels. One for "Default" Layout and one for "Plain" layout. When default is at start, the default label is disabled,and when plain layout is clicked, the button is disabled and default button is enabled.Basically, this is a toggle switch for default or plain where if one is enabled, the option for it is disabled and the other is enabled.My problem is that when I switch from Plain back to default, the background Image will not switch back from the plain background color of "control"Here is my code:
