I am experimenting with more effective ways to generate forms. My experiments goes into the possibility to link strings, and other types, directly by their class reference and use it to update the original values without any strongly typed code.
I have been using GCHandle.AddrOfPinnedObject to get the memory address of the string, but it gives the the memory address of the string data, not the string class/reference that i need to change to allow me to use this approach.I am aware that strings are immutable and can not be changed (Actualy, you can, but its not recomended), but I do not want to change the actual strings, but change the reference to it (the string object). Is there some other way to get the address of a string object reference?
I've been writing a socket application in which the client sends a user/pass combination which the server compares to a local text file. I'm only hacvin a problem with a small section where I have a do loop which does this comparison:(the string 'fromclient' has been defined earlier, as the information was received from the client)
fromfile As String Dim sr As StreamReader = File.OpenText("C:PASS.txt") Do While sr.Peek <> -1
I have an address in the type 'array of bytes' (example): 81 ?? ?? 02 53 02 d0 27 To mess with it in visual basic, I use the format in Hex: &H81 &H02 &H53 .....
I do not know what 'put' in relation to the 'question marks' I've tried: &H?? &H_ &H00
I am soon to develop a Win Forms app that will run on traders' machines and the main concern is to have the app use as little memory as possible. Ever single line of code needs to be written with this in mind. What are areas I need to take into account? Of course you will say to do any complex processing on e.g. the database and not the client but what else?
unfortunately I cannot resort to C# in my current project, so I'll have to solve this without the unsafe keyword.I've got a bitmap, and I need to access the pixels and channel values directly. I'd like to go beyond Marshal.ReadByte() and Marshal.WriteByte() (and definitely beyond GetPixel and SetPixel). Is there a way to put all the pixel data of the bitmap into a Byte array that works on both 32 and 64 bit systems? I want the exact same layout as the original bitmap, so the padding for each row (if it exists) also needs to be included.Marshal doesn't seem to have something akin to:
byte[] ReadBytes(IntPtr start, int offset, int count) Unless I totally missed it..
im trying to format my results from some WMI quires but im not having much luck.
i want to display my available memory as Mb's not Bytes. in the past ve done the following
vb result = (queryObj("TotalPhysicalMemory")) / 1024
usually that works but its giving me a retarded result, its giving me 3581.98828125 as the result, but i do the same way with my video card memory and it displays it as 512 like it should. ive tried every way i know of formatting and decimals but non of it is working.
im dsplaying my result in a text box and ive also tried formatting it thier with no such luck
dynamically get the range of cells in Excel using VS 2005 vb.net. This works oRange = oSheet.Range(oSheet.Cells("A1"), ("U281")).Select, but "U281" will not always be the last cell in the range. So how would I dynamically get the last cell with data in it with the same format as U281.
I'm trying to pass a business object from one WinForm to another WinForm for modification, and then repopulate the text boxes, etc. on the first form with the updated values. However, it seems that the object values set in the second form are not "sticking" when the code control returns to the first form.Is there a way to view the memory location of an object in VB.NET? I want to first make sure that the object variable on the second form is pointing to the same memory address as the object on the first form. Then I can take it from there.
In a separate VB project, I passed a simple object to a second form, modified the values, and re-displayed the object's values on the first form. It worked fine. In my real app, I'm passing an object that is a property of another object, which may be why it isn't working.SOLUTION: The problem was that I was using a DeepCopy() function that I found to simplify copying the properties of one object to another. Removing that function and manually setting the values to the passed object on the second form (ex. obj.property1
I want to know on how to scan for the memory address by using its value.I am developing a small app that acts like a advance process viewer that shows all the address with the same values in a program.....
I need to make a program for my school (I`m the principal), that reads the text in the memory address of the program and write it down in a txt. I already have the address numbers. For more information, I use VS 2008.
I was trying to make one code to get the memory address. So, after I succeed this, I'll make the correct program.
The code I made(adapted from [URL] returning-0 ):
Public Class Form1 Private Declare Function ReadProcessMemory Lib "kernel32" (ByVal hProcess As Integer, ByVal lpBaseAddress As Integer, ByRef lpBuffer As Single, ByVal nSize As Integer, ByRef lpNumberOfBytesWritten As Integer) As Integer
I need to make a program for my school (I`m the principal), that reads the text in the memory address of the program and write it down in a txt. I couldn`t find a professional here in my city so, I already have the address numbers. For more information, I use VS 2008. I was trying to make one code to get the memory address, and after I succeed this, I'll make the correct program.
[Code]...
1. It only gets the first 4 bytes(is it?) of the memory address. I want it to get all of them.
2. I haven't discovered how to convert each byte(?) into a character. Is there a function for this?
3. When the program runs, after clicking ok on the MsgBox, it highlights the Next and debuggs:
Attempted to read or write protected memory. This is often an indication that other memory is corrupt.
Lately I have been making a program (I guess you could call it a trainer), which would read the process memory to get the character's coordinates in a game. It later makes a simple map and show it in a separate windows. I built this program in VB.net, and it works surprisingly well. The only problem is the fact that the memory address where the coordinates are stored, changes every time I restart the game. Could someone please help me find a way, for the program to find the correct address by itself? If it helps, the game I am referring to is Minecraft.
I'm basically reading a memory address of Notepad using a module I got from a example... Then I'm displaying the text value of the memory address in a MsgBox. Everything goes well, I'm able to retrieve the text value and everything, but this happens.Lets say the value of the memory address is "Notepad". When the MsgBox comes up, it comes up a lot of times, displaying it like this...
1st MsgBox displays "N" 2nd MsgBox displays "No" 3rd "Not" 4th "Note" and so on...
Here's my code, Module first, then Form1 code. Module1.vb Module Module1 Private Declare Function [Code] .....
Ive basically got 2 problems I need to solve.1) I am trying to determine if a certain process is running on the user's machine at the same time as my program.2) I am also then,if the process is running, trying to edit a specific memory addresses value. I have already found the memory addresses for the program, but how do I tell VB.Net to basically read the current value stored in that memory address, and then write a new value to that address
Is there a way to get my own process' memory range? For example, I want to read all memory of my own process:
[Code]...
But I always get an AccessViolationException, because, of course, I'm using IntPtr.Zero instread of my own address and 1000 instead of my own memory size. Is there a way to get these?
I have got some code that is working as i have edited the game.exe at a certain address, now i know the code can find the address, but I don't know how to make it stop searching for it if it isn't there.
here is the:
code:
So what I want to know, is how to stop this code, if the address doesn't exist.
when i transfer the bytes sent by the client program to a string the string length is affected.when i put the bytes sent by the client program to a message box. it returns the corrrect text. but when i check the length it will return 8192 or higher. but the actual size is just 5.
My Code
Dim tcpClient As TcpClient = tcpListener.AcceptTcpClient() RichTextBox1.Text = RichTextBox1.Text & vbNewLine & "Connection accepted." ' Get the stream[code]....
Im trying to work out what the best way to match 2 strings together, but with a difference.
String1 = "dog cat bird chair book table" String2 = "the dog chassed the cat around the chair"
No I know I can break string1 up by space character and check if each word appears in string 2, I would prefer to not have to do that.If there some sought of regex that would take a group of words and retrun how many of them matched ?
It's become a night mare. All day today I have been trying to tell the hex contents of the bytes in a string. In this case Im attentpting to detect a VBCRLF. In the debugger this in displayed as a " " and thats it no matter how I have to setting set.It makes it difficult doesn't it? The thing is that debuggers are quite capable of displaying adresses, of course this is only relevant to systems that do not change virtual addresses (which Windows does not)only physical addresses. Why is it impossible to see the values of a vbcrlf (0D0A) in a string? This sytem is becoming impossible to use.

I'm trying to send a 28 character string to a remote ip address and port. I've done this successfully in vb.net using the following code snippets:
Dim swon As String = "A55A6B0550000000FFFBDE0030C8" Dim sendBytes As [Byte]() sendBytes = Encoding.ASCII.GetBytes(swon) netStream.Write(sendBytes, 0, sendBytes.Length)
I now have to convert this across to c++ and have the following so far:
but am getting stuck at this point. I'm sure I'm missing a simple syntax error but I can't figure it out!To clarify, I'm not getting an error, but I don't think the string is being converted to bytes correctly as when I convert back, I just get a '01'
Im making a database converter (phpbb to ipb)I noticed during analysing both databases that the posts of phpbb are converted to bytes as you can c here
I want to convert those to regular text again but I have no clue how to script my converter to lookup the bytes place (after 0x) converts the string (as the bytes arent in array) and where to stop converting the bytes (after the ,)then replace the bytes text by the regular text and this needs to be in a loop because all posts need to be converted to normal text.
