I have a Parent form and a child form. I have set the child form as sizable, autosize to true, autosizemode to Grow and Shrink and windowsstate at max. The child properly maximizes on when loaded but does not resize with the parent. Here is the initial code to load the child...

I am using the FormLayoutPanel for the first time and I am not able to figure out what is going on.On the form, I have a label that can grow and shrink because the content can change. The text includes the name of the client and that name can always be different lengths in regard to characters. I also have a grid on the form.
As you will see from the attached image, the form that has the FormLayoutPanel on it is showing small and not showing the content of the form. The form is indicated via the green arrow.In regard to the FormLayoutPanel, I have set it up in the following way:
Three rows, one column.The label is in the first cell, nothing in the second cell and the grid in the third cell.The TableLayoutPanel is anchored top, left, bottom, right.
Autosize = True
AutoSizeMode = GrowAndShrink
The Label in the first cell is anchored top, left, bottom, right TextAlignment = MiddleLeft
The grid in the third cell is anchored top, left, bottom, right and also Dock = Fill

I have a datagridview created for my windows app in 2005 and I'm not sure how to get it to grow and shrink, depending on the number of rows that are displayed. The form contains several filters for the user to use in order to get their desired recordset displayed in the grid and therefore, the size of the grid will be constantly changing. How is this usually handled?
View 10 RepliesI have a Visual Studio 2005 VB project that creates a fairly simple form containing three text boxes with corresponding labels. In terms of property settings I have AutoSize set to True, AutoSizeMode set to GrowAndShrink, SizeGripStyle set to Show, and WindowState set to Maximized.
I'd like the user to be able to grow and shrink this form using the resize grip that appears in the bottom right corner. When the application starts, it starts maximized, which is what I want, and it has the typical minimize, restore down, and close buttons in the upper right corner.
I can use restore down to reduce its size, and once that's done I can use the resize grip to make the form larger, but the resize grip will not allow me to make the form smaller. Changing WindowState to Normal doesn't change this behavior.
How would i make a form grow down vertically like say 200px when i click a button ?
View 5 RepliesI have a form in an application I'm working on that normally displays full screen without a taskbar but provide the option to switch to a minimizable window with a taskbar. When I switch from full screen without taskbar to minimizable window with taskbar everything is ok. When I try to switch back to full screen the border disappears but the taskbar is still there and the form is not aligned properly.The text at the top is cut off somewhat and there's a small margin at the right edge that shouldn't be there.I put this code in a keydown event for the form.

View 2 RepliesI am developing a VB.NET app which returns data to a DataGrid. Everything works correctly now except for one thing. I want all of the blank white space below my datagrid to not appear, so that users don't have to worry about scrolling down the page. Currently, it shows the DataGrid correctly, with a scrollbar and this grid takes up about half the height of my monitor. But then there is alot of empty white space below this grid. How can I remove that?

It says that the maskedtextbox has a autosize property which i cant see in the properties window in VS2010, and nor can i see it in the intellisense window that pops up when I try to write MaskedTextBox1.AutoSize. View 3 RepliesI'm creating an application that uses an MDI container to create a sort of desktop style for my form with a group of icons docked to the left hand side. The rest of the form is the desktop area that I want all windows to open in.If I use the standard File-New option that is provided by VB as a default for the MDI container this works fine and a child window is loaded.If I use similar code from one of the icons this also works fine.y problem is that one of my child forms is a search panel and when I double click on one of the results I want a window to open, but as an MDI child. However, this doesnt happen. When I open the window it opens as a completely separate window and isn't docked within the MDI parent. It also appears on the task bar as a separate application.

I have datagridview with some columns that the user can hide or show using a contextmenu. Below that I have some textboxes inside a tablelayoutpanel which the user can write into to filter the data in the datagridview.
But if the user hides a column in the datagridview, I want the textbox below to disappear as well and the other textboxes automatically take up the empty space.

When the user hides the column:
The column named "Totaal prijs" has now gone and so has the corresponding textbox below. But the columns in the datagridview now stretch nicely to take up the free space. How can I do the same with the textboxes?

Scenario I have an MDI form with a UserControl docked at the top. The UserControl is for navigation and is ~50 pixels in height. When I show a child form with its WindowState property already set to 'Maximized', the child form shows maximized in the MDI parent, but behind the UserControl.

The following code does create a form within a form and does place NotePad inside the child form. You have to manually start NotePad prior to execution (I work on that later) but the code does workŠ My problem is now I want to manipulate the properties of notepad i.e. focus, size, location, etc. but I cannot figure out how to reference notepad and its properties.

i have my main child form open. then i show the new form:

but when the form opens it flickers a lot. so i want move the new form behind the main form while it loads so the user does not see the flicker. once it is done loading i will set the form to topmost. how do i move the new form behind the main form?
I don't see why this code is not running. I want the form to be hided if the statement is true, but what it does is only open the other form but not hide this one.

Im working with MDI parent/child objects. when closing the child objects i need the child to check to see if it is the last child object before closing. i couldn't find anything on google, maybe im searching for the wrong thing.
