I can't tell why when my picture box is to show an image the picture box moves altogether, I feel like it might be moving toward the checkbox which I have controlling the visibility of my picture box. That check box doesn't work as it is supposed to either. Everything else works just fine.

View 3 RepliesI want to make a game where the playing pieces can move around. When I click on a playing piece it shows all available moves were I can go like this:
Red represents legal moves and dark gray represents a wall.
I have created a grid and buttons in it. When I click on a button, I subtract or add the available step count to the button index in the grid. For example if my piece can move 3 places, I subtract 3 from the index of the button and get the available position to the left of the piece. Then I do the same for all other directions. It looks something like this:

Using this method it is very slow and cumbersome to get all available moves and not intuitive to get top and bottom moves. Also if there is a wall in the way and behind there's a available spot it shows that I can move to it.
I have a problem that I can not seem to get. I have a program that moves a picture to what ever location the user puts into the text boxes. It works as I wanted it to but my problem is when a user puts in anything but a number into the text box it gives an error, I want a message to pop up and let them know that a numbers needs to be entered not a text.

On the start of the application, the form slides down, and when the form reaches a set value, all my panels slide out.The problem is, when the panels are sliding, they flicker furiously! It's really annoying and I'm not sure how to fix the problem. When the panel reaches it's set value and stops moving, the flickering stops. I can only assume it's because of the background image

I made a picture box and imported an image named Title.jpg. Later I made adjustments to the picture and imported it again without deleting the original(mistake). The new one had the name automatically changed to Title1.jpg. So I deleted the original image from resources and renamed Title1.jpg back to Title.jpg.
Now I got two problems. First, only Title.jpg is on the solution explorer, but Title1.jpg(along with Title.jpg) still pops up on the resource list when I click on Image property of the picture box. There's only the name and no picture, and I don't see a delete option. How do I get rid of it? Second, even though I changed the image to the new Title.jpg in the picture box, the old one is displayed when running the app. What's up with that?

I am working with my web cam and it works, but one problem like all the other vb webcam programs it use a handle witch uses a creatgraphics for the object. Well I happen to be using a picturebox for my handle, and I need it so if I minimize the form, the image is still there. Is there anyway to put the image into the picture boxes image?

If the user finds a pair, the cards should stay face up, however if they do not match, they should be returned to facing down.
The pictures need to be loaded dynamically through an array...

But because of how many buttons I need I was wondering if it was possible to show the picture in a message, all the pictures are funny motivational posters from photobucket so I want the player to be able to read the dialog. How do you make the image in a picturebox vanish when you change an option? I have tried a few different ways that i have seen but none have worked. I have it set so when i change an option in a listbox it will change the picture and data in other controls, however one option in the listbox has no data to fill in those controls and so gets left blank. However when i click on that option right now the images that were in the picturebox before get left behind until i click on another option that has a picture. So how do i remove the picture from the box?

View 3 RepliesI'm working on a program that allows a person to click on some text and it will read the text (play a wav file) using My.Computer.Audio.Play. The program calls a procedure called PlayAudioClip which uses AudioPlayMode.WaitToComplete because in some cases two wav files will be played one after the other(two languages). During the playing of the wav files I want to show a visible indicator that there is audio. I've got a picturebox called "AudioPic" who's image property points to a picture in my.resources. THe visible property of AudioPic is set to false when the form loads When the user clicks on the text my program should display the image (Visible=true), play the clip (or two) and then hide it again.
It seems that the picture is not completely loaded before the wav file plays and since I have it set to WaitToComplete it stops the loading until the wav file has played, at which time the program hides it.
How can I force it to finish showing the picture before playing the clip?[code]...
