I have a access database connected to a project in Visual Basic Express 2008.This is a database for items I have.I my database, when I change reccord from one item to another, I try to have a picturebox to display acutal picture for the item.
Dim NKnr As ????
If NKnr = txtNKnr Then
picFrimerke.Image = System.Drawing.Image.FromFile("C:Program FilesFrimBas
knrpic"txtNKnr".jpg")
the value in "txtNKnr" referer to a picture with the same name in given folder.
I have a form with two group boxes. The first one has two radio buttons and the second has four. The user chooses one button from the first group box and one button from the second which gives me eight selections and I would like a different picture for each selection.
I am trying to create a viewer for files with large (sometimes over 2,000 characters) records. I want to use the rich text box control and show a given record in rows of 100 characters each. I have set the font to Courier New and sized the RTB appropriately to show the records correctly. However, if there is a record with 80 consecutive alpha characters followed by a space, then 120 consecutive alpha characters, the RTB separates the line at the space, as if there were a vbLF there. This happens in other cases, but I havent been able to figure out how the RTB decides when to break the line.
When I move or copy files, I'd like to know how to show the actual progress of the data transfer.Something that I don't understand is how when moving or copying files to detect the actual progress of the data transfer. I always put the moving/copying in a background worker and that does fine, but presently I can only report status based on how many (of the total) files have been moved or copied.I've tried to look at the destination and my thinking was to report the progress based on the bytes there, but that doesn't work because it always sees it as being the complete file's size, even though that makes no sense. In fact, if you copy a file using Windows Explorer, it does the same thing, although obviously it's still transferring.
I know lots of you have had problems with the form designer giving errors and refusing to show the actual form, mostly because of some transition in software i take it (i aren't a Full time programmer, its just a hobby.)My problem is similar, vb refuses to show me my form and now i have even more problems.the last thing i did before this happened was try to add an imagebox to the form.Heres a few errors i get:every label i have is no longer declared?event 'load' cannot be found- My other problem is, i managed to close the designer window during this problem and i cant remember how to get it back up
I have records in a database. Each record has a Picture path in it eg. "C:\Pics\Image1.jpg". I would like to display a record from my database and also the picture for that record, in a .rdlc report in vb .net 2008. i have succeded in displaying the record but just can't get the picture to show. I am using an Imagebox in the report.
I need to display a arrow picture over another picture. But i cant able to make arrow picture transparent other than the arrow. Always it is in rectangle format(Picture box). I tried the picture box color to transparent, But that doesn't worked. A separate user control for displaying transparent image will be appreciated.
Basically i am making a software that will be interacting with a database (sql). Now what i wanted is a loop which after every 30 minutes, connects to the database finds some info and executes a bunch of statements. For the sake of testing i have made the timer tick at 1 second, and display a record in a database in a label continuously just to see if it works (i will later make the tick 30 min)Now this is what i have tried till now , it prints the record in database perfectly after 5 seconds, but after that just fails.[code]I want to infinitely make a loop in which after every 30 minutes has passed it would connect to the database get a record and then use the value of that record to perform some operations. And this has to be done in the background.
I came across a problem in my program it takes too long to calculate the values needed (about 10 sec) .But thats not the problem you don't know when the program is working or not, as it just locks up until its finshed and I view that as a problem.
I need to be able to show the progress of this .I looked at using background Workers but I get exception "Object reference not set to an instance" I believe this is because the background worker cannot write values or something ,As it works will a normal handler.
i have this problem i would want to solve urgently...when i import a picture into my picture box in vb.net using this code
[Code]...
The img_large_watermarked.jpg image shows up on successful submission...i also want to change that too..cos as soon as i moved systems it could not detect C:Documents and SettingsstanleyMy DocumentsMy Picturesimg_large_watermarked.jpg and that caused errors.
I've designed my own encryption application in VB 2008 that has a free tools section where users can choose a particular wizard to use from the drop down. The javascript wizards display the code required to put in their own sites. I already created wizards that users can well, use.I see people have their own "contact form wizards" on their websites all the time. Where users can use the wizard and get the displayed code to copy and paste on their sites. But trying to locate source codes to these things is very aggravating on the web.So what I want to do is create my own "form wizard" like out of javascript, that allows the user to put in some information then get the displayed code to put in their own websites. I'm not looking for the generator such as the online form generators. But the javascript source code(s) for the generator itself. Then I could simply put a form generator inside of my VB-app, that will allow the user to use the wizard, then get the html code to paste in their own sites. Preferably not the PHP one because the php backend is very difficult to put in a VB app.I know that it can be done. For example copying a web pages source code then putting it inside a string, then calling that string from a button click that will open the javascript page in the webbrowser inside the VB app.
Just playing around with VB and have made a program for playing "pairs". The program displays lots of face down cards, then the user can click on them to reveal their face and try to find pairs. This is done by hiding or showing the "card reverse" picture
If the user finds a pair, the cards should stay face up, however if they do not match, they should be returned to facing down.
The pictures need to be loaded dynamically through an array...
The code I have so far is as follows...
Form1...
Code: Public Class Form1 Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click

I'm trying to make a game, pretty much a game like memory where you flip over a card and find the match. But because of how many buttons I need I was wondering if it was possible to show the picture in a message, all the pictures are funny motivational posters from photobucket so I want the player to be able to read the dialog. I've already tried doing
Dim picture as string = "1.jpg" Private Sub Button1_Click(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click MessageBox.Show(picture) End Sub
but when I click the button nothing happens and yes the name of the picture in my bin folder is "1". I am using Microsoft Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition.
I am trying to get a access picture attachment to show in an vb.net picture box. at start up, i add an attachment field to the database, and add pictures to the database in jpg form. then connect the database to vb project using the general vb settings. The connection is sucessful, I then add a picture box control to the form along with changing the attachment field to a picture box setting at this point every thing should be good. However, when i go to run the program the picture box remains
I am making a picture viewer in vb.net. When I click a button to show images from a listview it does not work without the msgbox! I'm writing a program that need to use handwriting. I have mouse pen with USB interface(buy from Genius, MousePen i608). My idea is that I want to record employee's sign with picture box from my attended form. And then save in MS.access. How do you make the image in a picturebox vanish when you change an option? I have tried a few different ways that i have seen but none have worked. I have it set so when i change an option in a listbox it will change the picture and data in other controls, however one option in the listbox has no data to fill in those controls and so gets left blank. However when i click on that option right now the images that were in the picturebox before get left behind until i click on another option that has a picture. So how do i remove the picture from the box?

I can't tell why when my picture box is to show an image the picture box moves altogether, I feel like it might be moving toward the checkbox which I have controlling the visibility of my picture box. That check box doesn't work as it is supposed to either. Everything else works just fine.
I'm working on a program that allows a person to click on some text and it will read the text (play a wav file) using My.Computer.Audio.Play. The program calls a procedure called PlayAudioClip which uses AudioPlayMode.WaitToComplete because in some cases two wav files will be played one after the other(two languages). During the playing of the wav files I want to show a visible indicator that there is audio. I've got a picturebox called "AudioPic" who's image property points to a picture in my.resources. THe visible property of AudioPic is set to false when the form loads When the user clicks on the text my program should display the image (Visible=true), play the clip (or two) and then hide it again.
It seems that the picture is not completely loaded before the wav file plays and since I have it set to WaitToComplete it stops the loading until the wav file has played, at which time the program hides it.
How can I force it to finish showing the picture before playing the clip?[code]...

When i create a windows form in VB, i want to have a picture box on my form, but in design view it shows the box, but when you run the program it doesn't show it. I want it to show the box so when you run the program it will show the box and you can click on the box and you can add the photo you want on your form and then print the form or save it.
