I can think of a few ways such as adding to a gridview and bubble sorts
VS2008 VB.net. I have a simple Product Class with 20,000 records:
Product(1).partno = "3999399"
Product(1).desc = "Bearing"
Product(1).loc = "34"
This represents ONE sale only and may appear in 100's of other records
Using LINQ how can I: Determine the total count of each partno and then sort by descending order
Example:
Count Partno Desc Loc
3,232 3999399 Bearing Loc 34
2,323 3899388 Bushing Loc 35
etc.

My sort does not produce an error but the treeview control shows nothing. I am not sure what I am missing. Simply sorting the treeview will not work because it throws off the display of related info for a given device in listview controls. The collection itself needs to be sorted before the data is added to the treeview.

1. When I launch the program, I want the items in my listbox to be sorted alphabeticly.
2. I want to save the items in the listbox, so if I close the program and reopen it the items are still saved in the listbox.
3. The items in the listbox all start with a date, fe. "13-4" for today. If that date already passed I want that item to be deleted.
The gist of the program is to:
- Read a CSV file into an array
- Get this visible in a list box, so the values can be:
- Sorted
- Edited
- Deleted
- Added
- Finally save these manipulated values back to the text file

Declare some class level variables that will keep track of the sums for each column. For example:

During the RowDataBound event, retrieve the data from each column and add it to the appropriate sum. I'm not sure if you are developing an ASP.NET application or a Win-forms desktop application so I cannot help you any further at this point. What have you tried so far to solve the problem?
I am starting to use cryptostream class. I may be wrong, if you encrypt something, close the app, and then try to decrypt it, it will not be able to because a different key will be generated. Because I do need this functionality, I am wondering if it's possible to save the key in application settings and whether this is the right way to go?
