I'm building a program in which it asks for your name and age and determines a ticket price based upon these details. I want it to show the person's name, then their age, (jump down a line) then their ticket price, and then it jumps down a line to show the next person's name, age and ticket price. Issue is, when it's meant to jump down to show the next person, it just completely deletes the last person's details.I'm using this line of code:
TxtFareShow.Text = (Name & Age & vbCrLf & Price) & vbCrLf
How do I fix this?
I have a wrapper class created around TextBox, and I want to find out if there is any way to test if the vertical scroll bar is at the beginning (the very top) of the text box and at the very end of the text box.Alternatively, I will be happy if only I can find out a way to check if a scroll bar is enabled or not in a textbox (note: it's not a RichTextbox).
By enabled, I mean that scroll bar is actually enabled i.e. you can use the scroll bar to scroll the control, not just visible (I know we can check visibility by GetWindowLong)
I am using zedgraph to draw bar chart in my vb.net project. The bar base is Y (meaning all bars are horizontal). I have 9 fields for user to choose from, and once a user clicks a field, one corresponding bar will show. Of course, the user can click off the selected field to remove the corresponding bar item. I can do this. The basic idea is to get all bar items and set their visibility according to user's selection. My problems is that I want to have a textlabel next to each bar (this text label is different from legend)so I set the yAxis.Type=text. There are two problems:
1) When I add bars, I still need to specify x and y value. How do I set y value in this case to make sure bar ally perfect with its text?
2) As far as I know, I can add text labels by an array as the last line code shows. But obviously this only works for bar chart with fixed bars. In my case, the number of bars and also the order is changing based on user selection. How can I set text labels?

I'm having a problem where I have elements such as Listboxes and Rich Text boxes that I want to set to size automatically in xaml according to the size of the window, but I only want it to resize to the size of the window and then put scrollbars if the content is any bigger than that.
Unfortunately, the only way I can get scroll bars to work is if I set a specific height of the listbox/rich text box (which does not work because I want it to automatically resize to the height of the grid that it is contained within, which is generally the height of the window (auto).
My rich text box overflows with output during execution, thus activating a vertical scroll bar. When the program ends the created text box information disappears.I have tried a message box prior to exiting the program to stop execution but then nothing responds until the message box is A instruction doesnt accomplish my goal either. I see nothing in the text box properties window which looks like it would do the trick and no luck with Googling for info so far.
View 6 RepliesI would like to have the tabs on my TabControl displayed on the left, or sometimes right. Unlike the System.Windows.Forms.TabControl, however, I would like the text to remain horizontal instead of being rotated by 90 or 270 degrees to the horizontal. Here are a couple of pictures illustrating the concept. Though I could write code to do this myself in about an hour or two, I just thought I'd ask first if there is any existing Winforms control that implements such feature.
View 1 RepliesI'm using the following calls in a vertical label control: (borrowed from another project)[code]But if any of the text characters are a V or W there are funny jagged artifacts in those letter's angled lines. Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried looking up anti-aliasing etc.. but aside from changing the smoothing mode to antialias I couldn't find anything (changing this doesn't help a bit)

vb.net 2010 development environment, Windows XP.
My application displays a data entry screen consisting of rows and columns of text boxes and combo boxes.
Photo attached.
all the controls are created and placed on the form in code.
On a Windows XP machine (where the application is developed) all the controls line up perfectly. However, on a new Windows 7 machine, the result is as pictured in the attached photo. It seems that the combo boxes are slightly taller than the text boxes.
I have adjusted the .height property of the combo boxes, as well as text boxes, but to no avail.
Both the XP machine and the Win7 machine have different screen resolutions. Is that a possibility, and if so, is there a way to size the controls in a resolution-independent way?
I have an application that makes a drawing with measurements both horisontal and vertical. I like to get the vertical measurements to be in direction down-up, not up-down direction as StringFormatFlags.DirectionVertical does. All the measuretexts are drawn to a graphics path. Because that path includes all measures at different locations I can´t TransformRotate that path, the text should be rotated before it is passed to the graphics path, or ? It would be so nice if it would be a StringFormatFlags.DirectionVerticalUp to handle it.
View 7 RepliesI can find lots of examples of rotated text on graphics objects on a Google search, but I want to create a vertical caption but with normal letter orientation, something like this:
C
A
P
T
I
O
N
but with sensible spacing and alignment. I can't seem to get my search terms right to find a suitable example. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I'm nearly finished building a Black Jack game for college I've just got one small problem that I need some help with. It's probably just something really basic that I'm missing, but I've not been using VB for a very long time.The problem is with counting up the results after each game. I can get the counter to work and displays the results in a text box like so...
dealerCount = dealerCount + 1
txtDealer2.Text = dealerCount
This works fine but I also need an Overall total which holds the overall score and saves it each time the game is loaded. But when I added...
overallDealer = dealerCount
overallDealer = overallDealer + dealerCount
overallDealer = My.Settings.dealerOverall
txtDealOver.Text = overallDealer.ToString
It seems to keep the counter at 1 and it wont add up. Am I missing something real simple?
