Is there a way to write a program to go to a specific website, enter some things injto textboxes, and then click a button? I want to use this to log into some of my accounts for other sites once a month, Instead of entering the username and password manually.
I am trying to write a small application that simply monitors my web site watching for specific hyperlink text to appear. I have been searching around and trying different approaches for a few days and have to accept defeat on this.Basically I need to be able to type in part of a hyperlink or the actual text of the hyperlink into a textbox to be watched for. When it is seen it opens the link in a new window.
Dim theElementCollection As HtmlElementCollection theElementCollection = WebBrowser1.Document.GetElementsByTagName("a") For Each curElement As HtmlElement In theElementCollection
im trying to write a program that checks a website if a certain value is within a limit and if not enters a value into a text box and submits the information. I have researched into httpwebrequest however i cannot quite figure out how to progress from page to page. I also found that i can do browser manipulation however I don't a browser to be a open while the program is waiting for a specific value. So is there any way to do something like browser manipulation without the browser?
I'm BRAND NEW to programming, and I'm starting to learn VB. I need to write a program that views images on a website that are organized. I have 2 textboxes in which you enter variables which affect the URL. It doesn't load anything though when I enter values into the textboxes. Here is the
Dim shoot As String a = TextBox1.Text Dim pic As String b = TextBox2.Text
[Code]...
Also, i want to be able to enter something else in the textboxes and be able to press the button again to load the new image
what I want to do is get the text from a specific textbox from a website then copy it and paste it into an textbox(into my.exe) .
*With those code i get alway and error that clipboard is not supported ! *
my codes :
Private Sub Timer2_Tick(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) Handles Timer2.Tick WebBrowser1.Navigate("http://10minutemail.com/10MinuteMail/index.html")
I'm tryign to read a specific attribute from a xml website using this code:
'this is the url im trying to read, tmpIn is a string that complete the url: Dim url As String = "http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?q=" & tmpIn & "&output=xml" Dim reader As New XmlTextReader(url)
[Code]....
The problem is tmpIn takes diferents values (string) when the function is used and sometimes this works, and othertimes it gives an error (Invalid character in the given encoding. Line 9, position 15.), but is not because of the url, is when it tries to read the coordinates...
Not sure if this is possible at all. I was hoping somebody could help point me in the right direction. Right now im not quite sure what to search for or what this would be called. Basicly I was wondering if it is possible to design a application in vb.net 2008 that could search a website for specific information.
I have a web application (built as a product) that contains an XSL stylesheet that I'd like to use in a console application I've written in VB.Net in support of that web application. Is there a way to automatically determine the physical path to where the web application is installed? I know that the IIS Metabase holds this information, I just don't know how to access it.
What I have is the path to the web site. For example: [URL]. I'd like to look up in the IIS Metabase (on a specific server) to find the physical path (For example: c:inetpubwwwrootmyapplicationfolder) Is this possible from a console application running on either that server or even another server? (assume the account running the process has full admin rights).
I currently have an HTML form that saves one input to a txt file that exists on my website.
I want to do this using visual basic(not vb script) in a codebehind page for and aspx form. everything i find on google tells me how to save the file on my computer or to a server on my system. This server exsists on a hosted website and I don't have access to the permissions on that host.
This works fine for the form post. how do i do it with vb
I was wondering how I could make an application that searches a certain website for a specific string. Or, if I could, list the search results in a listbox. Reason for: I wan't to make an application that searches serial websites for certain serials. Like 'Craagle'.
Ok, so someone I know said in order to do this, I need to do WebRequests. So I have this site for example: [url]Say I want to post to that textbox("Hello"), then I want to click the button. So far, this is all I know [url]
if i have 4 lines in a text box and i only want to add new text to line 3, how can i do so..i would like it to delete previous text and/or overwrite it.
I am very very new to VB.NET and would like to ask a simple question. I want to create a vb.net program and allow visitors to a website to download this program. However, I prefer not to have visitors download a zip folder. I would like to have a program that just gives a prompt to save in a selected folder, once the saved file is selected it prompts the person to download, and then when finished prompts the person to run the program. The reason is twofold:
1. I don't like the extra step involved with unzipping the file. and 2. I don't like the visitors having to look for the "main" file program within the new downloaded folder. So is there any way to have just one file for others to download without having it in a zip folder?
I have a small database from which I need to select specific data for my Windows Form Textbox.I have a table in a database with a few columns: "ID,Date,Val1,Vla2,Val3,OK" (int, date, int, int, int, bool). There are several rows, but only one of the rows has the boolean value as 1 (or 'True').I would like to select all of the information from that row and write it to different TextBoxes.[code]
I'm amazed at this situation. In QBasic, you could just easily GET and PUT whatever you wanted at the exact position in the file that you wanted. Now in Visual Basic 2008 I'm just completely stumped.
I can't use FilePut or FilePutObject because of a twisted issue. It adds a couple of bytes to describe the length of the data being written: what's the point of BINARY read/write if it won't allow you to write EXACTLY what you want and nothing less or more? There's a way to turn off this issue, and that's by setting the parameter StringisFixedLength to TRUE, but that's where the twisted part comes in. You can't do that. As far as I can tell you have to redefine the function using SUB, for example:
[Code]...
My.Computer.FileSystem.WriteAllBytes. To my amazed surprise, this function doesn't even bother to include the possibility that I might want to put the data in a specific position within the file! I can't believe this. You can either specify to APPEND at the end or not, in the latter case apparently resulting in a write to the beginning of the file. No option at all to specify where in the file you want to put the data. I can't believe this.
How do you write to a SPECIFIC position in a binary file in VB 2008, and do it without the program deciding to add a few "informative" bytes to your data before it's written (totally undermining the whole point of binary files)?
I am using impersonate user to copy files form one location to other.Only impersonate user will have write permission on the destination folder. But i want to check before if that user has write permission before i copy file.Currently i could able to get it using try catch exception, for that i need to perform the copy file process.
I am trying to figure out how VB can focus a specific program and then send commands to the program only. The focus would only be for the commands and would not make the program you are currently in lose focus. Simply, what it is controlling is a Windows Application called GOM Player. I use it to study my material for school. I plays movies in it and dont have to click out of the application I am working in to pause, play or rewind. The keypad and the company who make it actually have it built into iTunes and it does exactly what I want GOM Player to do.
The reason I dont just use iTunes is because I cant get my video files to play in iTunes. After pulling teeth with the manufacture I finally to tell me that the iTunes functionality is accessible via plugins built into iTunes. So trying to mimic what is being done there does not help. I believe that a knowledgeable VB programmer could answer my question in seconds, but having some experience with coding and programing I know it also could be a lot more than what I think. [URL]
The question is: What is way that VB can send the key for the macro only to the GOM Player Application even if it is not focused or even If it is minimized.
how i can write a program to create a shortcut in the startup folder of a different program. So i have one program on my computer that should run at startup, i just need another program to create a shortcut to it, and then copy this shortcut into the startup folder.
i have to write a program for my VB class that consists of a resistance checker program. I've searched like a madman to help me through this and I have found nothing >. The program consists of 2 combo boxes, the first one is the nominal resistance drop down list of the numbers :100, 150, 220, 330, 470, 680, 820 and 1000. The second list is of the tolerance numbers; +/- 0.4%, +/-0.6% and +/-0.8%. Now what i want to do is select a number from the first combo box and select the tolerance level of the second combo box and i input the resistor of said value into the text box. when i click the check resistor button it should display a message saying if the resistor is in or out of tolerance. For now I have the form all laid out and the values inputted into both combo boxes and i can go to run the program i am able to select said values. Now my problem is trying to get the right code so that i can check the resistors value.
i'm trying to make a program that searches for a specific file in a specific file, so when the program loads it "writes" in checked list box the names of the drives installed to the computer, but what i want to do is: when the user checks the box, i want it to search for the file in that drive, but i don't know how to do it...
I'm using:
Imports System.IO Imports System.Collections.ObjectModel Public Class Form1
[Code].....
how to make it search in the other drives using the checked listbox?
Recently we decided to make a web based game that I would like to see on a web page. Prblem is I have no idea how I would get my website to see the program and run it. I'm fairly decent with Vb its self but ASP is completely new to so Im ultra newb. My understanding about using ASP is since its Microsoft based you can't use any tools like WAMP or PHP Admin or anythign I currently have to get ASP programs to run but I could be wrong. I barely know how to setup a webpage so I'm 100% newb on my venture into webpage building but I want to learn more about it.
I made a visual basic program that I need for everyone to be able to use on the website (not download it). I need it to be built into the web site. I looked everywhere but to no avail.
I want to do stuff like upload a "paste" to [URL], upload a picture to [URL] upload a file to [URL] etcetera. How would I do so?(Visual Basic 2010 Express | Windows 7 Ultimate)
I am currently making a GUI for Minecraft Coder Pack. MCP works off a system of batch files that launch python programs. I want to be able to read and write to these cmd windows throught vb.net. So that I can tell when a process has finished or to answer a yes, no question i nthe python program, with a gui from vb.net[code]\...
