May 3, 2012I am using a richtextbox control on my form.I want a small code which can detect if any image has been inserted in the rtb or not.For e.g. user can just type some text or insert image also. Now if we select an image then we can get the type but I want a code which scans contents of rtb and gives me a true if an image is inserted or false if there is none.

Jul 7, 2009Well when my form loads, it loads an image from a file into a picture box like this:
Dim bmp As New Bitmap(Image.FromFile(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory() & "datapic.bmp"))
PictureBox.Image = bmp
then while the program is running, the PictureBox.image is changed
then when the form closes, I try to save the picture like this:
Dim bmp As New Bitmap(PictureBox.Image)
bmp.Save(System.AppDomain.CurrentDomain.BaseDirectory() & "datapic.bmp")
This only works if I try to save to another file other than pic.bmp. However I want to overwrite it.. but it throws an exception "A generic error has occurred in gdi+"

Paste Image Into RichTextBox
Jan 24, 2011Is it possible to paste an image in VB's richtextbox like we can do with Word or Wordpad? I have tried all the tutorials I can find online and am still having no success getting an image from the clipboard to the RTB. I can accomplish it if I already know the image and path etc. and do it through code, but that will not allow someone to simply click an image, copy, and paste it into the rtb.

Convert Visible RichTextBox Area Into Image Object?
Aug 12, 2009I'm working on a Vb.net project. I have a form with a RichTextBox or a simple TextBox control. It contains hundreds of text lines, so the control has to be scrolled.
I want to send to a printer only the lines that are currently seen on the control window.
That is, I want to convert what I see into an Image and then draw that image thru e.Graphics.DrawImage.
As you can see, it could also be the case of a ListBox, a TreeView or any other scrollable control.
How can I grab that rectangle area and then convert it into an Image? The rest I already know how to do it.

I using transparent Richtextbox, and when i try to use Regex system to replace text with image it work, but everytime other smiles disappearing, i only see last one. VS 2008 Visual Studio 2008 Randomly Crashing When Simply WRITING Code?
Oct 25, 2009i'm running Visual Basic 2008 Express Edition (latest service pack ... 9.0.30729.1 SP) on XP Pro SP3 with .Net Framework version 3.5 SP1 I have a rather large project I've imported from Visual Studio 2003 (Standard).The project compiles and runs just fine ... my compiled program itself never crashes.
But while I actually have the code up in the IDE, and simply adding/deleting code the whole IDE will randomly crash (usually without warning) and I loose my changes since last save.If/when I do get some hint of why it crashed, I get a window about illegal whitespace or something.... but that's rare ... usually it just crashes without warning and the whole IDE completely shuts down instantly. just deleting/adding a character is enough to trigger it maybe once every 30 minutes.
This is on a computer that is otherwise very rock solid .... no other program ever crashes, etc.
VS 2008 - VB BITBLT Equivlant - Build Image By Opening Files With Image Data
Nov 2, 2010In VB6 you could BITBLT things around before refreshing the screen. In .NET, I'm aware of DrawImage, but that can only be done on a paint event rather than before anything gets painted. The issue I have is, I need to open several files with image data in them and then build a bigger image with those smaller images. Before I could open them, BITBLT them to a Buffer. As far as I can tell .NET offers no way to do this as the only function I've been able to find (DrawImage) only works within the paint event. Is there still a way to do this in VS08 or no?

Oct 14, 2009Ive been programming in VB6 for years, i figured its time for an upgrade. Here's what im doing, and what the problem is:
Im loading a bunch of pictures on top of one image. They are all PNG files, and some of the images have transparent edges, and some semi-transparency within the image itself.
So basically, i need to be able to load these images on top of the other images, and still maintain the transparency.
Is this possible in VB08? This is one of the main reasons i moved to 08 from vb6, more things possible including multithreading.

I can change the pixels/edit the picture by Dim img as new bitmap(picturebox1.image)

now here is the weird part. When I save the image the filesize INCREASES..but the picture dimensions are the same Example... TEST.PNG 1.3KB, when opened up via picturebox/saved the image is now 2.3KB
not sure why...i even though I specify system.drawing.imaging.imageformat.PNG
samething with JPG... it actually SHRINKS it evenmore.. example 88KB jpeg.. saved as jpeg is now 47.7KB...
