I am working on an application in Visual Basic Express using an Access 2000 database.I am trying to get athe following SQL query to work but get an error in Access.
The query is:
SELECT [ID], [Title], [Author], [Series], [YearPublished], [ISBN], [CoverPrice], [Style], [Condition], [Signed], [Comments], Count([Title]) AS CountOfBooks, Sum([CoverPrice]) AS TotalCoverPrice
FROM tblBooks
WHERE ID=[@ID];
The error is:"You have tried to execute a query that does not include the spec ified expression 'ID' as a part of the aggragate function."
The query works fine without the 'Count' and 'CoverPrice' count and sum to the query.

I get this error when I run the application Incorrect syntax near 12, on debugging I found that this error is caused due to the # along with the date. Dim backdate as datetime backdate = DateTime.Now.AddDays(-1)
on binding the data to the grid to filter the backdate records this error is caused Incorrect syntax near 12.
myqry = " select SRNO,SUBJECT,ID where datesend =" backdate Now i am trying to extract only the date or shall I divide the date into day , month and year with DATEPART and take into a variable or convert the date or what should i do

Ok so i have a date time picker that holds a date that was entered by a user. My program works fine when ran on a computer using English(US) regional settings, but when i take it to a computer running any other regional settings, I.E. English(UK), which is the 2nd most common regional settings that will find its way to this program, I recieve an error because the Date format is backwards. What i'm curious about is how can i grab the system Regional Date format in order to rearrange my Date to fix its context?
I know that since the date is stored as a string i'm going to do something along the lines of this to break it apart:
Dim temp()
temp = Split(inputarray(7), "/")
inputarray(7) = temp(1) & "/" & temp(0) & "/" & temp(2)
i am almost 100% sure the above code will take a date in MM/DD/YYYY format and rearrange it to DD/MM/YYYY format.

conversion of date
if i used -- Date.parse("28/01/2011")
it gives me error as "String was not recognized as a valid DateTime."
so then i modify above code as -- CDate("28/01/2011").it gives me error as "Cast from string "28/01/2011" to type 'Date' is not valid." I used convert.todatetime also date.parseexact but nothing is working..

I'm creating a VB app that uses the Infragistics UltraGrid to display data from 2 JD Edwards files. Before the data is displayed, first I need to convert 2 date fields that are in JD Edwards Julian date format (i.e., 111158 for 6/07/11....the 158th day of this year) to mmddyy format.

I am attempting to import data in a batch from an Excel Worksheet to a Sql Server database. Everything works except for the one date field in the spreadsheet. The date returned is off by four years from the value in the spreadsheet. Example: The Excel sheet has a date 10/24/2010 14:18, but when I look at the column in my query, the date is 10/23/2006 2:18. This pattern, 4 years and 1 day earlier, is repeated for every row in the worksheet.
The Excel column comes to me as a custom type, formatted m/d/yyyy h:mm. I receive this from an outside vendor and having them change the column is not going to be my simplest solution.
For what it's worth, the relevent part of the query is:
Select [Date Created] From MyWorksheet

For example, today is 05/11/2009, I have two text box.
Actually it means that whatever what date i choose within the current month, the two textbox will display the last three months date.
For Example, Current Month is November 2009 , Textbox 1 will show 01/08/2009, Textbox 2 will show 31/10/2009.
Another example is Current Month is January 2009, Textbox 1 will show 01/10/2009, Textbox 2 will show 31/12/2008.
May I know how the vb.net code should look like?

how I can ensure that conversion of a date to a string and a string to a date will give me the same date format.
For example:
Code:
Private Sub Button1_Click(sender As System.Object, e As System.EventArgs) Handles Button1.Click
Dim d As Date = Date.Now
[code].....
I'm actually only interested in the date part as the label text shows so f is more than I want.But also, the day and month are reversed.

I would like to use this date as the same day of every month the user is due
i.e dueDate actualDate
so if the user joined on the 20/02/2010 and then makes a payment on the 25/03/2010

I have a problem. I'm making a alarm clock and I need a way of converting a "dd/MM/yyyy HH:mm:ss" format into a date time format. This means I'll be able to compare the dates in a listbox using the for each function, to the current date and see whever it has passed and therfore the alarm should be deleted. It is currently in a string form so I can't use < and > to compare it to the current date as that is in a date form. I've tried using CDate but it doesn't work as it only will convert these formats:
"August 12, 2004", "2:07:30 PM" and "August 12, 2004 2:07:30 PM"
