How may I correctly assign textboxes, dropdownlists & labels to appropriate fields, on successful retrieval of records via a SQL statement? I have 4 tables & therefore, the assigned data don't match the controls. (VS2008)

After upgrading my solution with both c# and vb.net projects I have encountered some problems:
1. When for example writing Public Property MaxDate As Date and pressing enter it does not create the Get/Set values
2. Refactoring is not available
3. The properties window is blank when viewing classes (normally I would see Serializable and COM properties to the right)Intellisense works and the above problems work in new projects.
I made this procedure re-use a select query:

And I use it like this if I would want the selected value placed in a textbox and it works fine

However if I want the value to be passed in a string like so:

The string ends up having an empty string value. How do I assign the value I queried to that String?
Im currently working on a project using VS2008. One of the features of this applications is to enable the user to change the theme either buy selecting preset ones or defining there own. The themes used in this application are not the default windows ones. I basically created my own window, titlebar etc... with the use of panels and removed teh windows form borders. So its basically coloring the controls on the form. At the moment the theme information is stored in a "txt" file and when the application loads, it applies the theme to the current form. However, there is more than 1 form within this application. I dont want to write many lines of code to apply certain design/appearance properties to every control in the form. So is there a way to apply settings to a group of controls?
EG: Make all textboxes BackColor Blue
My application also has widgets. All widgets are panels with their names prefixed as "Pnl_WIDGET". Is there also a way to set propeties to all panles with the name beginning with "Pnl_WIDGET"?
I do have Visual VB.NET 2008 Express installed, SQL Server 2005 express installed, and I do know how to start a brand new project in VB.NET, and then add the database to the solution explorer, modify the tables/fields, etc. I know how to create a WinForm, add some controls (and name them and whatnot).....
So in MS Access I know how to use VB in the Code-Behind-Form to use the form in an unbound manner, and insert data into the tables via Visual Basic with SQL statements. I am looking to be able to begin the same sort of thing here, because I guess I have to start somewhere?
Can some one please be kind enough to link me m$ naming guide lines.

To create a relationship between the tables created in the previous step 1.Right-click the Database Diagrams node in the SampleDatabase.mdf node in Server Explorer/Database Explorer and choose Add New Diagram.
2.Click Yes if a dialog box opens asking to create the required database objects for diagramming.
3.Add the Customers and Orders tables to the diagram.
4.Close the Add Table dialog box.
5.Drag the CustomerID column from the Customers table onto the Orders table.
6.Verify that the Customers table is the Primary key table and the Orders table is the Foreign key table, and verify that the CustomerID column is selected for both tables.
7.Click OK to close the Tables and Columns dialog box.
8.Click OK to close the Foreign Key Relationship dialog box and create the relationship.
9.Select Save Diagram1 from the File menu.
10.Leave the default name and click OK.

I am new user of Crystal Reports and experienced at using VS2008 (VB). I have a big gap that I have found no explanation on bridging. There must be some type of import process that I have been unable to find.
I built a report using SQL Server 2005 (Business Intelligence Dev Studio) and it works. I need to use the report in a VS2008 (VB) project. How do I get it into my VB project and call it? The SQL project creates a report with an .rdl definition file. I think the VB project requires an .rpt file. How do I import it into the VB project?
I created a Visual basic DLL in Visual Studio 2008 on my computer( not server). I want to copy this DLL to the server.I want web pages to call this DLL What do I need to install on the server (2003) to make this DLL work? I think I would need

I have made a form that consists of textboxes nested in groupboxes nested in tabpages. I want to check if all textboxes are empty in every groupbox and even if the controls from a groupbox in a groupbox are empty.When they are empty i should not create an element string for my .xml document.Below is the code that I have at the moment. The events from aaMyForm execute correctly but the controls added to it are not shown on XForm. I have found some info about set Modifiers Protected in order to be able to change the functionality of the controls but havent found anything about why the controls aren display on the XForm.

Let me briefly list down the steps i took to achieve my result.
1) Insert data into Database using text file
2) Display the records from the NEW Database(Item2) using DataGridView
3) Using datagridview, i use to checkboxes to determine the selectedRow
4) Once the selectedRow are selected. I press on Delete Button
Delete Button - Update the Item2 Table field 'Deleted' to 1 - Delete the ItemID by using datagridview selectedrow cell value Which means in 1 loop, i process two database transaction.. Is there something wrong? How do i shorten the process to just delete the item without querying two database.

my problem is when I enter a new record in the grid that belongs to the master table and enter a detail to that data the data of the new master record is saved but not it's detalis but when I enter new details for old master record the save is done well

I either:
1) Force a default value (i.e. - "2")
2) Verify there's something in the field AND that something is numeric...

I have a VB 2008 application with multiple DataPicker fields. The data is binded to SQL database. On the form load I set the checkBox for each date to false if there is no date in the field. Noticed that if I make changes to some dates for record 1 in the table, save it and scroll to the next record - I see the date that I just changed for record 1 - also on records 2 and 3. Why is it happening? I don't have that problem if I use text fields to display the dates. I had encountered the same problem with different project and just switched to text boxes. With this new project?
