VS 2005 Using Combo Box In User Control And Getting Selected Value In Another User Control
Aug 31, 2009i am using vb.net 2005 to developed desktop application I am having two windows form user control , the first control name con.vb containing the design and code for connecting to database and getting a list of my project values in combo box.
Now the second user control report.vb which i am using to generate some reports , since the code behind is using connection to connect to various project database , so i want to get the value of
First user control into another how i can get the i have tried the below but its giving me error in run time but no error in design or code behind -

Error i am getting is :

May 13, 2009I have followed the directions from this web site and the control works on a new form. But I have now written my own User Control. It compiles, I have changed Active Config within the Solution Properties to Release | Any CPU and built the Solution. But I can not find the .dll within the .NET framework Components after selecting Choose Toolbox Items from the Tools menu.

May 31, 2010I have a user control that I have added a listbox to. I have added this control to a form and would like to use its click event.

When I click on the control on the form it does nothing none of the code for this event gets triggered. If I click on the listbox inside the user control that .click event inside the control does trigger. How can I make the click event for the user control trigger when the control is clicked?
VS 2005 : Update A Bound Control After User Entry?
Sep 29, 2009I don't think this can be that hard but I just can't get my head on it. I have a connection to an Access DB, put three text boxes representing three columns in the DB. Using the DataNavigator everything works. But what I want is to be able to enter text in say textbox1 and have textbox2 and 3 update, like when using the navigator.
Add: I want this to function like when you enter a record number in the Navigator and hit Enter, bam, goes to that record and all the text boxes update. I want to enter a number in textbox1...

May 9, 2009how to create a client/server... But I couldn't... I don't want anything fancy. Just want the client to send the server 4 numbers, depending on the user's choice; after that, the server would turn off the pc, restart it, etc. It all depends on the number received. Mar 27, 2009I am trying to build a tournament bracket application. In order to build the application efficiently I would like to make a user control "GameControl" that represents a game and give it attributes that represent the names of the competitors "TeamNameA" and "TeamNameB" ,an attribute "Winner" to represent which team should move on, and an attribute "NextRoundGame" that assigns another instance of the user control so that it can assign the "winner" to one of the "TeamName" attributes of the next round in the competition. If the controls were native to VB I feel like I could do it easily (I have only spent about 30 hours self teaching/tutorial following) but I can't seem to find out how to pass values to custom attributes of custom user controls through code.

Dec 14, 2009I am using Powerpacks from Microsoft. Especiallly the Printform routine. When i run it on my PC it runs fine, But when i install the development on the clients PC i get a error that says that the powerpack is not ibstalled? Do i need to add some reference? Will this be solved if i complie the solution with VB 2010 because i see the powerpacks is part of 2010?

VS 2005 StackOverflowException In Socket Client?
Apr 6, 2010I'm working on a simple socket client application that transfers files from one PC to another. The flow is as follows.
Client sends message to Server
Client Listens for response
Server responds with command
Client sends file or message to Server
Client Listens for response
This sequence will repeat thousands if not tens of thousands of times. It runs great on my dev box but when I load it on another machine I get a StackOverFlowException. I know why I'm getting the stack overflow. It's because I have a Listen subroutine that calls a Send routine. When the Send routine is done it calls the Listen routine again. The process works for about 614 iterations and then bombs out with a stack overflow. I guess my question is, how can I code a socket application that can send-->listen-->send-->listen thousands of times without blowing the stack?
