I have created a custom column type for a datagridview. I have created a class for the datagridviewcolumn and a class for the datagridviewcell. Within the datagridcell class I am using the following code for the font.Dim fnt As Font = parent.InheritedStyle.Font How do I change this so that I have control over the font color for that cell? I am fine with the font just not the color.

There is one column that is a string which contains either "YES" or "NO".When I run and display the DataGridView it displays perfectly. For the User's benefiy, if the field contains "NO" I want to put some emphasis on it by changing the fore color and back coler of the entire row. In the DGV the index for field is (4).I tried this code which threw an error on the word "value" inthe block that fills the DGV.

In DGV, if the contents of the cell is truncated, the DGV shows ellipses (three dots) (...); but as the font is set to a Gujarati font, it displays a Gujarati alphabet "ઈઈઈ" instead of "..." because the Gujarati character "ઈ" is coded with the English "." (dot) character.In Gujarati font, "." can be generated with the English character "P".So, How can I change the ellipses to English "P" character? Then it shows the default windows contextmenustrip with copy/cut/..Is there a way to overwrite the DataGridViewTextBoxCell contextmenustrip or disable it? I am trying to display a custom control in a datagridview cell so that I can show nicely formatted information.
I am quite comfortable with the use of datagridview control accepting a list of objects as its datasource. I am also comfortable with populating the cell contents in the cellformatting event.
So I am planning to, instead of using a normal textbox control, button control and linkedtext control in datagridview cell, display my own custom control which is good one for displaying some custom data like, name, address, telephone, photo and others. It would be a nice improvement in my application.
Well, the title pretty much says it all. I have a user control that is a a collection of six label controls. three are used as visual color indicators, and the other three are used as the corresponding value for each color indicator. (It's sort of like a legend key on a chart or map.) I have created a custom class to store the three values, and the associated methods to interact with the values. (I can probably use a structure instead of a class, but right now, I don't want to discuss that.) My problem, is that I want to show my user control inside a cell of a DataGridView. I've looked at the examples that create a MaskedTextBox DataGridViewCell, but I can't seem to get it to work. Here is what I have:

I am developing a project using VB2010. In the attached example I created a Form.
On tha form I put a GroupBox Containing a DataGridView.
I am trying to set, at Design time, the ColumnHeadersDefaultCellstyle Font of the grid, defining the Font, the size and the style (Bold). After saving the project or running it, The Font properties of the grid headers are changed to the Font properties of the containing
GroupBox.
Why is that so? How can I set, at Design Time, a different font for the Grid Column headers and the GroupBox?
To demostrate the problm - Try to modify the Font of the grid headers, in the attached example,
to "Bold" "Size 12", Run the application and see the result.
I have added a custom Control to my project, but every time I edit it and rebuild the form that I use the custom control in adds the project name in front of the control and won't compile. i.e. Project name = MyProject, Custom Control name = MyControl. When I rebuild the project after editing my control I get an error, MyProject.MyControl doesn't exist. If I remove the MyProject from the line it compiles and runs fine until next time I edit the custom control.
I can't figure out what I would be doing wrong to cause this, or why it is putting the project name in front of the control, but then not accepting it. I am also struggling figuring out how to change the back color on an individual cell in an Datagridview Combo Box. The style.backcolor property of the cell doesn't seem to do anything.

I would like to do, in a datagridview, to change the font row with the TextColor Value, and the background row with the BackGroundColor. supposing the user enters the 2x2 matrix values, and the user checked the checkbox last cell in the dgvw. The problem - the last cell value is not updating inside. if ii debug through code, the "cell(2,2).value" reurns null value whereas the rest of them returns the value what i entered.
if i clicked the mouse some where in the dgvw after entering the last cell value, then it is returning the exact value as expected.

i am developing an application with vb.net incorporating a Datagridview control. i know that we can make a particular column as checkbox column or text colum or button column. Is there any property/method to make one cell as checkbox cell, other as text cell and another as buttton cell for particular column within the DGVW?
