Jan 26, 2012In my form there is a DataGridView, the user select information in the DataGridView then there are text boxes that needs to be filed in. So this is what needs to happens if the focus is on the DataGridView when the user hits the Tab key it moves the focus to first text box. Then once the user hits the last tab box it returns focus back to the DataGridView but to next cell. Initially figured this would not be a problem and did this code;

Displaying Errortext On The Current Cell In DataGridView Control?
Oct 9, 2007I'm trying to use the errortext field on a cell to display a validation error. It works fine if I leave the cell, but I can't figure out how to display it while staying in the cell. I have seen examples where the code updates the row's errortext, but I really want to mark the cell in error.

Dec 14, 2009I have a form with multiple datagridviews. On save the entire dataset will be serialized to a strongly typed property bound to a sql varbinary(max) Works fine. Of course the current "dirty" cell will not be saved as mentioned here :

My problem is the user could be coming from any one of 20 datagridviews when they click SAVE. Is there any way, short of checking for a dirty cell in each datagridview to commit any dirty cell before the save ( clicking another textbox control before the save does the trick but calling the focus() of that textbox prior to the save does not ) I was thinking perhaps catching the event of leaving the grid but it seems the base problem is clicking a button (for reasons I think I understand) does not fire lostfocus events for the current control and it doesn't seem the click handler args knows what the last current selected control is.

On the MouseDown event is this line of code which needs to be fixed:

We are trying to find out what the value in the Amount column of the curent row.
We also get this error message:
Conversion from string "" to type 'Integer' is not valid.
how to fix the MsgBox so it will show the value?

Datagridview Checkbox Column - Last Cell Value Not Updating?
Oct 26, 2010i am developing an application in VB.net implies some datagridview operations. the appl contains one DGVW with columns fixed programatically, one such column is Datagridviewcheckbox column. the datasource for dgvw is bounded by a datatable. the user needs to enter the values in the GUI.
supposing the user enters the 2x2 matrix values, and the user checked the checkbox last cell in the dgvw. The problem - the last cell value is not updating inside. if ii debug through code, the "cell(2,2).value" reurns null value whereas the rest of them returns the value what i entered.
if i clicked the mouse some where in the dgvw after entering the last cell value, then it is returning the exact value as expected.

The problem is, whenever i click the header checkbox, all the cells in that column are checked but the header checkbox itself gets invisible. If I click the HEADER (though the checkbox is invisible, still I can click the header) again, all the cells in the column below are unchecked and the header checkbox becomes visible and unchecked. Everything is happening as expected except the visibility of the header checkbox. Why is it so?

VS 2005 Put ListBox Over Top Cell In DataGridView Column?
May 26, 2011I've got this working but there's something I don't understand about it. I have a DataGridView and a listbox. I want to position the listbox to be the same location as the topmost visible cell in the column the mouse is in. The end result will be that a context menu will be provided to show the user the distinct values in that column which is why I want the listbox to show over the column that it's displaying data for, just below the header cell. I'm testing right now using the CellMouseEnter event and the following code is working:

I'm displaying the data from the database via DataGridView with LINQ. In order to display the DGV I have this code:

I was thinking to add another column named "Symbol" and based on the "Status" column to format the cells of the "Symbol" column to display an image.
I edited the DGV, and add a new image column.
I created a directory in my solution called "references" where I put all the .bmp files
I don't know how to do this. My first thought was to put an expression in the DataTable Properties, but I didn't manage to make that work. Another way is to format the cells in the "Symbol" column, and again I don't know how to do that. I tried with "Select Case ... Case ... End Select" with no success.
LE: Should I Insert the .bmp files into SQL database (varbinary(MAX)) If yes, how?
