I have a user control that is a a collection of six label controls. three are used as visual color indicators, and the other three are used as the corresponding value for each color indicator. Then it shows the default windows contextmenustrip with copy/cut/..Is there a way to overwrite the DataGridViewTextBoxCell contextmenustrip or disable it? I am trying to display a custom control in a datagridview cell so that I can show nicely formatted information.
I am quite comfortable with the use of datagridview control accepting a list of objects as its datasource. I am also comfortable with populating the cell contents in the cellformatting event.
So I am planning to, instead of using a normal textbox control, button control and linkedtext control in datagridview cell, display my own custom control which is good one for displaying some custom data like, name, address, telephone, photo and others. It would be a nice improvement in my application.
I've been trying to customise a datagridview but no luck so far, thing is, i want some of the cells to not have the same grid colour and width as all the rest of the grid. Do you guys know how can this be done? I know it is possible cause i've seen it before but i have no clue how to accomplish that.

I have added a custom Control to my project, but every time I edit it and rebuild the form that I use the custom control in adds the project name in front of the control and won't compile. i.e. Project name = MyProject, Custom Control name = MyControl. When I rebuild the project after editing my control I get an error, MyProject.MyControl doesn't exist. If I remove the MyProject from the line it compiles and runs fine until next time I edit the custom control.
I can't figure out what I would be doing wrong to cause this, or why it is putting the project name in front of the control, but then not accepting it. I am also struggling figuring out how to change the back color on an individual cell in an Datagridview Combo Box. The style.backcolor property of the cell doesn't seem to do anything.

i am developing an application in VB.net implies some datagridview operations. the appl contains one DGVW with columns fixed programatically, one such column is Datagridviewcheckbox column. the datasource for dgvw is bounded by a datatable. the user needs to enter the values in the GUI.
supposing the user enters the 2x2 matrix values, and the user checked the checkbox last cell in the dgvw. The problem - the last cell value is not updating inside. if ii debug through code, the "cell(2,2).value" reurns null value whereas the rest of them returns the value what i entered.
if i clicked the mouse some where in the dgvw after entering the last cell value, then it is returning the exact value as expected.

I've got this working but there's something I don't understand about it. I have a DataGridView and a listbox. I want to position the listbox to be the same location as the topmost visible cell in the column the mouse is in. The end result will be that a context menu will be provided to show the user the distinct values in that column which is why I want the listbox to show over the column that it's displaying data for, just below the header cell. I'm testing right now using the CellMouseEnter event and the following code is working:

In DGV, if the contents of the cell is truncated, the DGV shows ellipses (three dots) (...); but as the font is set to a Gujarati font, it displays a Gujarati alphabet "ઈઈઈ" instead of "..." because the Gujarati character "ઈ" is coded with the English "." (dot) character.In Gujarati font, "." can be generated with the English character "P".So, How can I change the ellipses to English "P" character? I'm done creating the DataGridViewColumn class and the DataGridViewCell class, however, when I try to edit the type of the column, my new custom classes don't show up as one of the options. I edited the DGV, and add a new image column.
I created a directory in my solution called "references" where I put all the .bmp files
I don't know how to do this. My first thought was to put an expression in the DataTable Properties, but I didn't manage to make that work. Another way is to format the cells in the "Symbol" column, and again I don't know how to do that. I tried with "Select Case ... Case ... End Select" with no success.
LE: Should I Insert the .bmp files into SQL database (varbinary(MAX)) If yes, how?
I am using a list<of T> as a data source for a datagridview and would like to handle the draw event of the datagridview to evaluate the string length of the column cell. If larger than a particular number then I would just do something like
