Lock/Disable Column/row/cell(s) In DataGridView?

I have a DataGridView that based on certain conditions certain columns or rows or cells need to be locked/disabled but the data in the columns or rows or cells needs to bvisibleNow let me define what I mean by lock/disable; the user cannot click on any cell that islocked/disabled, if the use is using the arrow keys the selected cell cannot move to a locked/disabled cell.So this means that setting the cell as read only will not work, the user can still place the cursor on that cell.

My datagridview consists of Three columns.
1st column is Datagridviewcolumn
2nd column is datagridviewcheckboxcolumn
3st column is Datagridviewcolumn
so 3rd column i made as readonly.so i need to enable the 3rd column cell based on the checkbox check properry
so i am generating datagridview column dynamically and populating values in the datagridview dynamically.so my need is after populating the value if i check the check box the current row of the 3rd column cell has to be enabled. so how to do this. please show me some sample code if there any. please

i am developing an application in VB.net implies some datagridview operations. the appl contains one DGVW with columns fixed programatically, one such column is Datagridviewcheckbox column. the datasource for dgvw is bounded by a datatable. the user needs to enter the values in the GUI.
supposing the user enters the 2x2 matrix values, and the user checked the checkbox last cell in the dgvw. The problem - the last cell value is not updating inside. if ii debug through code, the "cell(2,2).value" reurns null value whereas the rest of them returns the value what i entered.
if i clicked the mouse some where in the dgvw after entering the last cell value, then it is returning the exact value as expected.

The problem is, whenever i click the header checkbox, all the cells in that column are checked but the header checkbox itself gets invisible. I've got this working but there's something I don't understand about it. I have a DataGridView and a listbox. I want to position the listbox to be the same location as the topmost visible cell in the column the mouse is in. The end result will be that a context menu will be provided to show the user the distinct values in that column which is why I want the listbox to show over the column that it's displaying data for, just below the header cell. I'm testing right now using the CellMouseEnter event and the following code is working:

I have been using this code to find the value of the cell in a datagrid view

This works fine when the columns unless the user changes the order of the column.
So what I am trying to achieve is to find the value if the cell even if the order of the columns is changed. Is there a way instead of saying column (0, eRow) I can add (ColumnHeaderName = "NameHere", eRow) or something along those lines.

I have a SQL database, with some "status" strings. For every status I need to display a .bmp image .
I'm displaying the data from the database via DataGridView with LINQ. In order to display the DGV I have this code:

I was thinking to add another column named "Symbol" and based on the "Status" column to format the cells of the "Symbol" column to display an image.
I edited the DGV, and add a new image column.
I created a directory in my solution called "references" where I put all the .bmp files
I don't know how to do this. My first thought was to put an expression in the DataTable Properties, but I didn't manage to make that work. Another way is to format the cells in the "Symbol" column, and again I don't know how to do that. I tried with "Select Case ... Case ... End Select" with no success.
LE: Should I Insert the .bmp files into SQL database (varbinary(MAX)) If yes, how?
