Basic Array Construction - One Column Or Entry Would Be A Single Integer

Oct 27, 2009

How you might construct an array like the following: one column or entry would be a single integer, like 0, 1, 2, 3, 4... - i need this as an index of each one's position in the list the second would be 0 or 1, or true or false the third would itself be a list of integers 0,4,5,2,7,2,5,2...

So all together one entry would be {0; 0; 0,4,5,2,7,2,5,2} while the next might be {1; 0; 6,8,2,5,2,3}

I'm having a terrible time wrapping my head around this. It's mostly the third column which is actually a list in itself, that is giving me trouble

Create A Data Entry Screen From VB?

Dec 29, 2008

I'm new to developing and I work for a small company. I do have previous Microsoft Access experience and have used VBA code to enhance Access applications. But now I have been asked to develop a form for data entry using VB.NET. Is it possible to create a data entry screen from VB.NET that adds, saves, retrieves and manipulates data without using a database for storing the data. Users will not have Microsoft Access (or any other database) installed on their machines. They will only have the .exe file that I create after compiling the VB.NET application.

Using this tutorial How Do I: Create a One-to-Many Data Entry Form? as a reference Suppose I have a parameter query called FillByStatus in my "Customer" DataTable and I want to fill the CustomerTableAdapter On Form_Load using this query. So I can do that by using the following

Private Sub Form2_Load(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.EventArgs) _
Handles MyBase.Load
Me.OrdersTableAdapter.Fill(Me.CustomerOrdersDataSet.Orders)
Me.CustomerTableAdapter.FillByStatus(Me.CustomerOrdersDataSet.Customer, "Active")
End Sub However, when I do that my related DataGridView (orders) is empty, how do I make it so that doesn't happen?

The First Checked Lsit Box is called "Colour" and from the options the user checks 'Red' and 'Blue'.

Converting DLL's Created With Intermediate Language To Create Entry Points Within A DLL

Nov 16, 2009

In need of some desperate help. Has anyone had any experience with a software product called Pres? The programme provides a function (userhook) that can run externally created dll's as the programme offers no COM support. The basic requirements for the dll are as follow.

1, The dll requires a public function named UserInstruction

2, The UserInstruction must have 5 parameters. The first and second of type long, the third a double array and the fourth and fifth parameters required type is a string.

This all seems pretty simple. But as .NET doesnt support exporting functions within a DLL to allow direct public access to the function through third party software it becomes tricky. After doing some research it seems as though this isn't possible in .NET. The only way I can see to do this is to convert the dll to Intermediate Language and play around with it once this is converted and then convert the IL code back to a DLL. I found this on the following site [URL]..After trying this when I try to use the DLL via Pres I am still getting no joy.

Create Multiple Reports With Single Entry Into Form In VB2005?

Dec 13, 2011

I have to prepare about 125 or 150 Loading Slips for various Mines to move carting to our various Factory daily into Windows Form of ERP System.

Just like here: Date:18-12-2011, Requirement No.001/11-12, Mines No.OP-128, In Charge Name: Karsanji Plot=0,Satta=0,Dump=6, Transporter:Ghanshyam Roadlines Destination:Madhapar Here Some Button to generate/modify records: Add,Edit,Save,Delete,Previous,Next, etc If I distribute 15 trucks for Ghanshyam Roadlines to move carting from OP-128 to Madhapar then I will have to entry 15 times into Windows Form of ERP System for creation loading slips numbers from 1 to 15. Here all my data to input 15 times into ERP is same, so why is it not possible to create multiple reports with single entry form?

Forms :: Auto-Detect BarCode Scan Entry OR Manual Entry - Cash Register?

Sep 8, 2009

i am pulling together a cash register that will allow both bar code product entry and manual key entry.imagine if you have a tin of beans in front of you, in a small corner shop they would probably type "47" and then hit "Produce". Fairly straight forward as I have the button Produce to act upon my code and update my salestrans.mdb but,if you scan the bar code I want the same form to handle both 'real' actions, (i assume that keyboard emulation barcode scanner includes "ENTER" after providing 13 digits)....

Q. in perhaps a long winded way i want to know how to kick off an event based on the "ENTER" key being activiated by the barcode scanner)?i do not want to have to hit any buttons if i am scanning bar codes.

Communications :: Differentiating Bar Code Entry To Keyboard Entry?

Jul 10, 2009

I am trying to make a program with a bar code reader for the first time. I am programming with VB 2005. I want to differentiate a bar code entry to keyboard entry. My questions:

1. Does bar code reader generate a keydown (or keypress) event for each of the digits of the entry? For example, if the barcode read: 1234567890, does that mean that there will be 10 keydown (or keypress) events for that single barcode that was read?

2. I have read from the posts that the best way to differentiating keyboard vs bar code input is to analyse the time between keystroke (for less than certain number of milliseconds).

Simple Looping - Create Multiple Form Fields For Each Entry In Underlying Database Table

Nov 24, 2009

I am trying to create a form which will be fed by an underlying database to create multiple form fields for each entry in an underlying database table. This is for a program to monitor patients under anesthesia, and prior to surgery, the doctor will choose which monitors they will be using. Then, on the actual monitor screen which will pop up every X minutes, there will be a text box and a check box for each chosen monitor. I am relatively new to VB, so I have tried to illustrate what I am needing but using the logic that I know from my previous life in PHP.

I am using DevExpress's layout control to place the form fields, so that is the code in the middle of the first loop (on_load), and I know that part works, I just need to know how to name the fields and then recover those fields and commit the values to the database. (the text boxes are added to the database, the check boxes are used to determine if an entry is made for that monitor- i.e. at the end of surgery if a monitor is turned off). I know that my syntax for naming the fields is no where close to correct, and it probably would not work in PHP, but I remember doing something like this in a PHP application I built long ago. Triggering Basic Event In Other Process?

Mar 31, 2012

I need a simple system that allows one process to check if another process is running (I think I can do that fine using Process.getProcessByName or similar) and then trigger an event in that process assuming it is.When I say trigger an event I do not mean that literally. I simply need to trigger a sub in the first process from the second.I know that IPC like this would normally be done with pipes or remoting or something like that but I have no experience with these and am looking for a quick solution, so unless these can be used relatively easily to solve this I am looking for an alternative.

Good Custom Calender Control?

Nov 17, 2007

I'm looking for something relatively simple - just a monthly calender view where text can be placed on each individual day - just like a calender on a fridge (with a highlight for the current day). Slap it on a form or UC, set up a few properties and all done. I don't even need any clicking events - just a display.

The controls I've seen for sale are much more than what I need and creating my own, while an option, is something I'd rather not have to spend time on.
