How to create and edit PDF files in VB.net?
this can be some library or third party non-commercial tool (free to distribute) that can be included to setup package and should work when installed to any compatible PC with pdf reader. I want to be able to draw lines circles etc. within the document... or maybe draw within image and then print to pdf.

View 2 Repliesi can't edit my vb files. after having opened visual studio 2008, i open a project with the solution file. i can see, in the solution explorer window, my vb file. but if i double-click the vb file, i have the following error; there is no editor available for form1.vb. make sure the application for the file type (.vb) is installed. i have re-installed visual studio and still got the error. someone knows how to fix this?

View 2 RepliesI have two Windows 7 machines and for some reason one of them does not save the changes in the file on the local computer when I right click in the WebBrowser and choose View Source.
When I click on View Source in the WebBrowser, it opens the file but with [1] attached to the filename.
When I edit the Source, and save it and reload the webbrowser,the changes not saved.
There are 2 ways we can add .vb files.We can add them as a link and choose not to copy. Or we can add them and copy.The way I did it in vb.6 is equivalent with add them as link and choose not to copy.Also what's the point of copying to target folder anyway? I want the original linked file to be updated when I change the file during debuging.

View 8 RepliesI found this code on here to open a text fille, do a find & replace then save the changes, and the code is in a loop that will do that to every file in a given folder. My question is I also have files in sub folders, and more sub folders, and i'm not sure how deep it goes. I want to recursivly go though all the sub folders and do this to all the files, not just the files directly in the main folder.

I'm setting up a home database. I'm using sqlexpress. I want to use a vb.net programme to manage the database and currently added the database to my data sources. How would I create data for the tables? ( Tables are already set up )

Oasically outlook express now uses windows search to keep a count of emails sent. Whenever you get to 100 it forces you to manually compact them.
There is however a counter in the windows registry which can simply be set back to zero. I was wondering if i could create a macro that would load on windows startup that would reset the counter automatically in the registry whenever it got past say 75.
How can i make it so when my application has been compiled, a user can press a button, and then save a file within the exe its self (thus, a resource). Or text in a text document (not a setting, because when the exe changes places on a user computer, it will loose its settings. The main need for this is so that the exe can change locations / computers, but still retain the origional data (or text) stored in it.

What I want to be able to do is host it on our server here at our office and have the program installed on every computer on the network.

Having a slight permission problem with Win 7 I am guessing it will be the same on Vista but work fine on XP (yet to try)But my program is sitting in: C:Program FilesCompanyProgram And its trying to create new files alongside itself in the Program Files area but bombing out which I know is permissions. If I go there to create the file myself it comes up with a UAC prompt and when I hit allow it works fine but obv the program can't do that byiteslf so bombs out.Is there anyway I can over come that without the user having to grant admin rights to the program each time it starts or do I have to write data to another place?

I believe the connection string is also called app.config, and can see that in the Solution Explorer for the project.All I have managed to do is drag a button onto my main form and relabel it. Now what I would like to do is have all my TLB files in one folder and have my application point to that folder to use them.The problem I am having is that my EXE will not run unless all the TLB files are in the same folder as the EXE. I do not want this. I want to put some code into my file that sais that the tlb files it needs are located in say: [code] and still have it work. again right now they all have to be in the same folder which is really bugging me.

View 1 RepliesI have a form that adds new contacts. New contacts are added by pressing an appropriate button and they appear as an entry in the list on the form. I try now to add an edit button that will edit existing entries.User will select a given entry on the list and press edit button and will be presented with an appropriate form (AddContFrm).Right now it simply adds another entry with the same title.
