Sep 24, 2009I've looking everywhere but can not find out how to create index on vb 2008.what I mean is like in vb 6, for example in TextBox properties, I can create index. how is this working in vb 2008?

Sep 2, 2009I want to create an index on my table. I used the following command Code:
cn = New OleDbConnection("Provider=Microsoft.Jet.OLEDB.4.0;Data Source=D:database.mdb;Persist Security Info=False")
cn.Open()
cmd = New OleDbCommand("Create INDEX itmno_idx ON INVENT (ITEM_NO)", cn)

Now I want to use this. Is there a file created with some extension when i do an Indexing?. Is the above statment actually index the field, ITEM_NO or do i have to use ALTER TABLE command? Currently I am getting error "Cannot execute data definition statements on linked data sources"
Create Multiple Sockets As An Index?
May 10, 2011I have a VB application where winsock is used. I want to convert it to VB.Net, so as I understand I should use System.net.sockets to do this.
But the problem is in the VB application multiple sockets are created by using the index feature of the winsock . example
Load Socket(isocket)
where isocket is an integer variable that is incremented each time, for a new connection request.
So how do I do the same, ie. open multiple sockets in vb.net?

I go through many tutorials and pages to get the appropriate results but i couldn't.Actually I have a folder with some files(doc,ppt,pdf,excel etc..) and i want to search within that folder only for contents and if the results are not found within that folder then ask user to search on web.
for example i have a folder with thousands of files @ C: est and if user searched for "miller" then it should search into every document. if results are found then it should display results like that[code]...

Nov 10, 2009I am working in Visual Basic 2008 and am trying to create an application that calculates body mass index. I have the entire form complete as well as much of the source code, but I am having trouble creating the code for input validation. On the form I have a text box for entering weight and a text box for entering height, which are both used to calculate the body mass index. Therefore, both text boxes input information cannot be negative or an illegal character ( $, @, !...) The input validation is supposed to present a Message Box that displays something along the lines of "Please enter numeric values" when input values are illegal characters "Please enter a positive number" when input values are negative "Invalid Entry" when input values equal 0

Of the 3 columns, 2 are working perfectly fine, but whenever I try to filter the 3rd column, it gives me this error: (Also all of the column's have the ColumnType property set to: DataGridViewAutoFilterTextBoxColumn) "Index was out of range. Mar 5, 2009I've got the web browser with tabs in all working fine, but there's one bug, i can add tabs, delete em, etc.. but when i delete a tab then go to create a new tab, it gives me the error: InvalidArgument=Value of '6' is not valid for 'index'. I used a array for the movie quotes and a comboBox for the movie names. I have coded a portion of the program but I am stuck on how to compare the array quote being shown to what movie the user selects from the comboBox. I have tried numerous different things but none seem to work right. The way I have it coded now it shows that every movie I pick that it is right even if it is wrong. Create A .net Program And Allow Visitors To A Website To Download This Program?
Nov 15, 2009I am very very new to VB.NET and would like to ask a simple question. I want to create a vb.net program and allow visitors to a website to download this program. However, I prefer not to have visitors download a zip folder. I would like to have a program that just gives a prompt to save in a selected folder, once the saved file is selected it prompts the person to download, and then when finished prompts the person to run the program. The reason is twofold:
1. I don't like the extra step involved with unzipping the file. and 2. I don't like the visitors having to look for the "main" file program within the new downloaded folder. So is there any way to have just one file for others to download without having it in a zip folder?
